It had been a while since Devi visited the cemetery. She used to visit at least one night a week. It wasn't that she came to visit deceased family or friends, she came to sit on a bench and have a quiet place to think. Most people were creeped out by the idea of coming to a cemetery at night, especially alone, which is exactly what Devi enjoyed about it. Nobody else was here, and that gave her silence to think in.

Besides, what reason did she have to be creeped out? Its not like the dead was going to come back to life and attack her. And if that did happen, then Devi would just be too excited at the prospect of seeing zombies to realize her endangerment.

She sat at her favorite bench, underneath a large tree with thick branches, and finally gave herself time to think about past events. Between her failed relationship with Damian and the terrifying nightmare from her coma - oh god, that nightmare. The details were still hazy, but images from it flashed through her mind to haunt her. Getting chased by a flock of dead animals, paintbrushes turning to snakes, a girl seizing to death, people turning to giants as she shrunk down to the size of a doll. The last thing she remembered she went through a door and everything faded to black.

And then she remembered waiting and waiting in this darkness, as if she was waiting for someone to tell her what happens next but nobody did. It felt like it went on for weeks, and then she finally awoke.

Ever since she had woken up, her mother and father kept her as busy as possible. They said it was to help her appreciate life again, and insisted that whatever she saw in that nightmare was just a dream. But when she thinks about those events now, they didn't feel like a dream, they felt like a memory.

As Devi looked up to the starry night and watched the clouds cross over the moon, she saw the haunting image of the girl dying before her eyes from the toxic potion.

It might have been quite awhile since Devorah Gellner has visited the cemetery, but it had lately become a familiar haunt for the tiny hatted guardian cat Derpraline! Every day people in Destiny City died, so much that the groundskepeers, grave diggers, funeral directors were some of the highest-paid employees of the quiet metropolis. Also, the florists and it was for this reason that the tiny little feline was currently prowling the dark and eerie corners of the citizens' final resting places: flowers. They were perfect accents to any hat and indeed the one she was wearing had slowly accrued more and more lively blossoms in the brim as she had gone prowling through, squealing periodically over a rare find.

It never once occurred to her that this was wrong.

Soon all that would be occurring to her was that on the inside of her tiny little Derpraline brain, the radar was finding a small blip. The blip which was a rather sludgy youma about to drip slowly from a tree and right on top of Devorah Gellner. Already a black tendril of the viscous stuff was creeping down the trunk of the teen's favorite tree, to reach out and pull her into the tree with little warning. It was the first thing the tiny cat saw when she bounded from gravestone to gravestone to get a closer look, hat all but tumbling off her head as she rushed to a stop. Notgoodnotgoodnotgood!

A tiny voice rang out into the night, no thought that she shouldn't be yelling at random humans dwarfed by the need to save one from a Negamonster. "Watch out! Get up! Behind you! Run here!" Cream fur bounced up and down excitedly, demanding as best she could in that baby voice of hers that Devi save herself.

If there was one thing Devi learned from her experiences in the past few months its that if someone tells you to run, you run. No questions asked. So when the jumping talking cat in the hat - wait, what? - shouted at her to run, the seventeen year old girl leapt off her a** and sprinted to the tiny cat without a moment of thought. Probably not the smartest move, for all she knew she could just be running into a trap. But when she arrived to the tiny fluffy cat with the hat, she realized it wasn't all that threatening. It was just a talking cat. What an ordinary occurrence.

"A talking cat in the hat?" Devi questioned her own sanity. "Where's that damn talking goldfish telling me I'm making bad decisions?"

However, something - perhaps the giant monster rattling in the tree - told her that trusting this cat wasn't the worst decision.

Unfortunately getting Devi over towards Derpraline didn't do anything but provide two targets for the youma. Two targets were slightly confusing if they were big enough, but Derpraline was sadly not very big. The comment about a goldfish had blue eyes looking at the brunette strangely before speaking. "Derp is not a goldfish, Derp is a cat. You're weird!" But that didn't mean that she didn't deserve saving...but who was going to save them?

Certainly Derpraline was not going to do it!

There was a small glimmer of hope though, that this girl might possibly be one of the many senshi that seemed to inhabit this place. Astraea's voice explaining a concept came to the kitten then, almost as if she were hard-coded for these things to crop up when most pertinent: If she were handed a blank henshin wand with no real planetary focus, something might take over. Hopefully. Otherwise they'd both be running until a senshi showed up to take care of the problem, and that was generally Very Tiring.

Boo tiring!

So in front of Devorah Gellner where once a tiny hatted cat had been, there was now a tiny hatted girl no more than maybe eight years old, holding a strange pen that was strangely greyscale. Normally they had bright colors and symbols on them, but this one looked like an unfinished art project. It was a blank henshin pen and was fairly exhausting to make. There'd be no real running for Derp if this didn't work.

"Please hold this please?"

She had to be dreaming right? Getting attacked by a monster with a talking shapeshifting cat-girl? Devi slapped herself across the face. Hard. But the slap didn't snap her back to reality - no, it just hurt like a b***h. This was reality. Or she was back in that nightmarish world. Not one to risk her chances, she obeyed the orders with only a moment of hesitance and grabbed the pen the cat-girl was offering to her.

She grabbed the pen and examined it for a moment. What now? "What is this? How is this going to help us? Is it some kind of magic pen?" she joked. She mockingly waved the pen up in the air.

Suddenly, her clothes started to dissolve and new, fancier clothing began to emerge.

Where Devi stood, now stood Sailor Requiem.

"What the hell happened to my clothes? And what is this DRESS?" Sailor Requiem moaned, nervously clenching at the frills of her skirt.

"Yesssssssss yes yes yes!" It was almost like a snake on the first, all hisses and tongue getting in the way of primary teeth that were just a bit more pointed than was totally normal, but for the little girl who'd been a cat two minutes ago, normal was overrated. "You're a super-special Sailor Scout, awesome possum, go Derp!" It was a cry of delight and explanation all in one, bare feet kicking with little slaps against the marble headstone she was perched on happily. Of course this was really not what Devi was looking for, and hopping up to stand on the stone, a finger poked the center of her new tiara.

The lightbulb over Derpraline's head was almost visible as she snapped up straight, tiny finger still pointing as she flamboyantly cried out. "Sailor Requiem! Derp did good? Derp thinks she did very good. Requiem is happy yes?" Also overrated was the happiness of the freshly birthed Sailor Requiem as at that very moment, the youma got fed up with waiting for its meal to come back towards it, and lunged towards them with a roar. The girl yelped and tried to run backwards, tumbling over her ankles and falling into the grass with an audible THUD!

"GET IT GET IT REQUIEM!!! HELP DERP!!!" The girl was a kitten again, trying its tiny, fluffy hardest to be as small a target as it could be. Unfortunately, it simply made itself more bite-sized. Somehow, this never occurred to Derpraline. Ever.

"Help? How?!" Sailor Requiem cried. This was either one trippy nightmare or one really bad night! The cat had called her 'Sailor Requiem.' She knew what that must mean - she was one of those senshis. She had met some before in her other dangerous encounters, and she was able to even talk with Sailor Corvus for a while who described a bit about what the senshi are, that they each have unique powers. But was Sailor Requiem's power?

She looked at the creature heading towards them. She cautiously took one step forward and held her ground, thinking of what to do next. Then, as if it came naturally to her, she stretched out her arms to both sides and shouted, "Requiem Coffin!" as she clapped her hands together before her. And just like that a coffin appeared and encased the creature, trapping it in its own cage.

"Wicked!" she shouted. "I'm a bad a**!" As she stood triumphant and proud, the thought passed through her mind that the creature may be able to break out, and it might be best to get moving. "We should hide, before it gets loose."

Derpraline did not have to be told twice. However, she also did not care to ask permission for what she was about to do! There was a skip, a bounce, and the kitten was clinging to the front of Requiem's fuku with her claws. They delicately did not sink in at all to her skin and hoping that arms would come around her, the tiny voice rang out again.

"Run run run! Senshi will find and kill, but must run noowwww now now!" The claws were, admittedly, slipping. Guardian cats were known for their knowledge (what?) not their strength or magical prowess. "If if you get out then we don't gotta worry! Derp and Requiemmmm can runnnn~" It was humming with urgency and she was all but vibrating with it.

It was a real wonder that Requiem didn't have confidence in her instruction!

Sailor Requiem wasn't sure what else she could do - if anything - but to run. She wrapped her arms around the tiny magical cat and sprinted. It didn't take her long to realize that she was able to run faster in this form that she was able to normally, but that didn't make it any easier to run in heels - especially since she never learned how to walk in them! Instead, her "running" quickly changed into half-limping and half-power-walking. It was all very awkward.

When she felt she was a safe enough distance away - or at least until she didn't want to move anymore- she stopped and hid, taking a moment to catch her breath. "Are we safe here? What was that thing?"
