episode:1 New Earth Cast Cassandra:Zoe Wanamaker The Duke:Micheal Fitzgerald
I'm wondering if they'll actually explain how Cassandra managed to survive the events of The End of the World. Also, the Duke's title is apparently the [spoiler: highlight to view] Duke of Manhattan.

In a nice nod to the old series, it's also been mentioned that
the Doctor meets Queen Victoria in Scotland, where he is enlisted (via psychic paper) to protect her, and goes under the name of "Doctor Jamie McCrimmon". Tennant uses his own Scottish accent for these scenes
. The Doctor also claims
to have studied under Dr. Bell, an apparent reference to Dr. Joseph Bell, Queen Victoria's personal surgeon whenever she visited Scotland. As an interesting side note, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle once worked as a clerk for Dr. Bell, and the Sherlock Holmes character is loosely based on him.

or i wonder if cassandra is a different cassandra, or cassandra with a time-travelling box when she was still human.

Mickey officially becomes a companion of the Doctor?
But, have a look on www.eyeofhorus.org.uk for the series 2 episode titles. Only one episode is still unnamed, but I have heard words of it being called "I'm In Love With an Alien" featuring Trisha Goddard. Source -Outpost Gallifrey.

Not being from the UK, I had to look up who she was. Sounds like more stunt casting to draw in the casual viewers. I wonder if she'll be playing herself? "I'm in love with an alien" certainly sounds like a talk show topic...
And it's called I'm in love with a ghost. Not I'm in love with an alien. I do apologise for my terrible memory. mad
This is the original text from Outpost Gallifrey: According to today's Mirror, UK television chat show icon Trisha Goddard will star in the new series in an episode soon to be filmed that, according to a Mirror 'insider' is entitled I'm In Love With A Ghost. "Television chat queen Trisha Goddard is to star in Doctor Who...as herself. The Time Lord, played by David Tennant, will discover that Earth is overrun by ghosts in the new series before stumbling upon Trisha's show. ... Trisha asks, 'Can you trust him if he's always appearing and disappearing?' It's hilarious." Goddard currently stars in her own series on Five.

Interesting...For those of you who live in Canada, do you have any idea when the next season is going to be starting on CBC? They hadn't updated the page since the Christmas Invasion, last I checked.

The Sun is reporting that K9 and SJS may be getting their own spin-off series following their appearance in School Reunion.
Since seffy_chan's already admitted to owning the first one, I'm sure she'll be all over K9 & Co. part deux! mrgreen

New season 2 guest stars have been officially announced:
Marc Warren (never heard of him) and Shirley Henderson (a.k.a. Moaning Myrtle in the Harry Potter movies).
According to her bio, she was born in Dec 24, 1965... making her 40. I never guessed Moaning Myrtle was that old! eek
They will be joining fellow guest-star Peter Kay in episode 10, described as "An offbeat episode featuring the Abzorbaloff, a creature created by a Blue Peter viewer"
