Over a millennium has passed since the end of the world we called "hyrule"
-- and wasn't it inevitable? a world with its very essence, the Triforce, so tainted by evil hands, it was sure to fall. --
the world we know now, used to be known by that name, "hyrule".
but it was never the true land.
now, this land has its own name, Hyria.
train tracks criss-cross the land.
Back in those days, a large castle stood, where the Royal Family lived.
Back in those days, temples dotted the regions.
Back in those days, a large tower stood at the center of the land, the Tower of Spirits, connecting the regions together.
These are all gone.
The old royal bloodline of Hyrule is gone, dead for over a hundred years now; the last known surviving members all vanished without explanation. A new dynasty is in their place, of Hyrian origin. No longer a castle but a royal mansion, modern as can be, houses the Hyrian king.
The old Temples are gone, towns in their place; Hyria's population has risen significantly in the past thousand years.
The Tower of Spirits is gone, a large imposing University in its place.
And in this University is where our story begins...
not far from Hyria City, the University of Hyria is the academic center of the country. And it is in this establishment that the Department of Hyrule Studies is located.
The least known and most underfunded department in the university, dedicated to the study of the ancient world of Hyrule. But what the department understands about the world is hazy and distorted; they believe Hyrule was a small country that once stood on their own soil, and while they have many records of the ancient lore and legend of Hyrule, they accept none of it as fact, only myth. The ever-referenced "Link" is a mythical hero, not a historical figure; Din, Nayru, and Farore mean about as much to them as Zeus, Poseidon and Hades mean to our world.
But one such archaeologist has a discovery, and in the small Department of Hylian Studies wing, he is hosting a big reveal for his breakthrough- he has posted flyers about the university and Hyria City. Who will attend this obscure event, and what is in store for them?
Side Note: This is a Wind Waker-based roleplay, meaning in effect that Twilight Princess never happened in this timeline- if you're like me, you get that, but for those of you that don't...just understand that TP never happened~ haha.
This is basically a modernized Spirit Tracks world, about a thousand years later. As it stands, Hylian blood is extremely rare- as in, the inhabitants of Hyria are like normal humans, not pointy-eared elfin folk. However, people of Hylian descent still exist in some corners of Hyria.
Post any questions, comments and/or ideas, I've posted this RP on a different site before but before it got started that site shut down their RP forums because people were abusing the rules or something. xD

Not necessarily school themed...a school is just the initial setting. Excuse me if I'm confusing, I haven't really RP'd much in years.
Well...the idea was that the scientist holding the event [my character] sets events into motion that reawaken the Triforce and its holders, i.e., people from Link and Zelda's bloodlines and the big pig himself.
anyways;my character, a historian, finds a shard of the triforce of power, and hosts this event to prove to everyone that his unsanctioned theories about the reality of the myths associated with Ancient Hyrule are true.
The two mortal triforce holders [Courage/Wisdom] and all other characters are in attendance. Ganondorf's resurrection is set off, and hell breaks loose, etc.
Getting the gist? xD; I'll keep going if you're still interested. I know my intro was a little ambiguous.

And will others be helping the "Link" of this story in battle or only like support situations?

I don't think we need a character limit, I'll just trust people to keep up with them.
It's a little boring if it centers around one person, isn't it? xD; Other characters can align themselves with either side, I suppose, in battle situations there will have to be adjustments to accommodate everyone in the action smile

He is from a fairly wealthy family, but he is somewhat the black sheep. Despite this, he is the top authority on Hyliology. Having recently returned from a long sea voyage and excavation, he has found a piece of crucial Hylian history. He is hosting an event to get the word out at the University near Hyria City, and if people don't come for the news, they may come for the free food, or so he hopes.

Its mostly fine<3 You do realize this is sort of moden-era, though? So things like archery and swordsmanship would be considered lost arts of sort. Not saying you can't know them. Just as long as your realize its not commonplace.
Also, are you saying your character is a student of the university?

Technology...I would say circa, mid to late 1800s? Generally speaking, that is. Somewhat industrialized, with electricity, telephone, and radio, but without computers/cell phones/etc.
I am really sorry at my lack of ability in explaining things thoroughly, I believe I've confused just about everyone. xD
