How many people have read it and what did you think about it. The ending of the third book made me almost cry.

VERY good books. Pullman is an excellent author who knows his trade well. They were incredibly, incredibly difficult to put down to sleep.

I have read those books so many times. I love them. There was recently a really good article about Philip Pullman in the New Yorker.

Lyra's Oxford was really weird and confusing, I thought.

The books were really great. Sometimes they were hard to get into, but on a whole, it was really entertaining.

I heard they're cutting religion out of the movie, which is confusing because the whole story is based on religion.

You didn't have a "thought they were ok" choice up there.

I know, I know--it's heresy! There were a number of brilliant bits to the book; Lyra's parents were extraordinary characters. The settings were magnificent.

The religious aspect? I've read a few to many "World is run by an evil church that is sort of like the Catholic church" to find that particular aspect appealing.

I actually listened to them on tape--they were very well done, although they were acted which of course influences your view of a book more than just having one person read.

I thought Lyra's Oxford was good but not as good as the trilogy. It was probably put out on a lark.

I liked them, the way that somethings were like this world but at the same time not quite. Puzzling in the beginning, but very interesting.

thats the reason they are so good is because there are things similar to the real world so it makes it seem real.

They were Good. I liked them, and the end was kinda sad, but it made enough sense that I wasnt too saddened by it

I thought it was really sad. I wish something had happened so they didn't have to seperate. Oh well. If wishes were horses beggers would ride

The His Dark Materials trilogy is nothing short of brilliant. The entire story was fascinating. Just thinking about them makes me want to read them again. x3

I adored the angels Baruch and Balthamos, I thought they're relationship was beautiful. There are so many wonderful things about the series, and the plot was so complex I probably missed a million things.
