(( This is an rp log between Polette [Wei] and [Lady Kiya] [Kousetsu] ))
PostPosted: Tue Aug 31, 2010 3:44 pm

Laying out on the sand, Wei had been sunbathing for quite some time now. It was just so relaxing, to stretch out and sleep for a little while, no afraid that anyone will come by and threaten her. Not that she was afraid in her last pride, she was just...more timid there, never wanting someone to come by when she was sleeping.

To say the least, she felt safer here. Maybe that was Raha's doing, not the pride's, but she was glad for it, nonetheless.

Blinking her green eyes open slowly, she let out a yawn, flexing her paws as she woke up more. She rose from her spot on the ground, shaking out all the dust that had collected on her stomach and side. With a satisfied look on her face, she started walking towards an area near the borders, where she knew there was a small watering hole. Sunbathing worked up quite a thirst for her.

Kousetsu was far from her home, or at least what home she had lived in. She didn't feel like she belonged there. Never having any friends, and everyone she ran into was quite rude to her. She felt she had to break out and leave. To start something new somewhere else. Where, she wasn't sure. She had found herself in a desert. Sand was plenty, and it was nice. She liked it. It felt so nice under her paws as she walked around. Though, she was kinda thirsty. She could smell the scent of water, but couldn't see it.

It was what she was following, her nose. She moved slowly, as she sniffed the air. She didn't want to trip over something. She noticed there were a lot more rocks out this way, then where she had come. And they seemed to be harder to notice in the yellowish tan sand. Which made it kind hard when she wanted to move fast, but that was all good. It gave her time to take in the landscape around her. How beautiful it was, even though many would find it rather boring and unbearable.

Finally, she found what little water hole she had smelled. Well, it wasn't really too small, it was just smaller then what she was use to back in the pride lands. Of course, she didn't want to think of there. Not anymore. A new start meant to drop old thoughts.

Standing at the water's edge, Wei stared in for a few moments, mainly looking at her reflection. There wasn't anything too special about her, but she had a better opinion of herself now, so looking at her reflection didn't bother her as it used to.

Plopping down, Wei created a small dust cloud as she found a comfortable position to lay in. Now that she was here, her thirst wasn't as strong as it had been, so she just let her paw lay in the water lazily. The only downside about being here was that she was rather bored, sitting by herself like this. She didn't really know where Raha was, but she had faith that he'd come back soon. Hopefully.

Almost in a daze, Wei's green eyes glimmered as they reflected the sun off the water. It was such a pretty sight, the shimmering surface of the small pond. It reminded her of her birth home- oh how she loved the water there. Every day, she'd sit in the flower patch and stare out at the water. But that was all in the past now.

Flicking her ears up as she heard another approach, she quickly looked up to see the figure of another lioness. "Hi there!" She called out, wondering if she was a part of the same pride. While Wei wasn't new, she still didn't know too many others in the pride, but she was coming along.

Kousetsu didn't notice anyone at first. She was too busy trying to find a easy way down from the dune of sand she was on. She frowned at herself, no matter what she'd end up sliding on her butt. Though, that didn't seem too bad. It almost seemed like a lot of fun. Her mouth was watering, as she could almost taste the cool fresh bit of water. Of course, it wouldn't be too cold, not with being out in the sun all day. Though, it was better then nothing that was for sure.

Before she could even get started down the hill, a voice floated threw the air. She quickly glanced about. How silly of her to not look around before she entered such a place. Though, she was alone for so long, she hadn't dreamed of meeting someone out here. Then again, water did bring others together. It took her a moment before she found the dark body to whom the voice belonged to. It was another lioness. Ease rushed threw her body, as she relaxed a bit. In doing so, she slid half way down the dune she was on. "Woah!" She said as she tried to stop herself, but only made it worse. Now she was at the bottom of it.

She was proud of the fact that she hadn't fallen at all during that time. She had made skills! She then looked back to where the dark female was. She stood out so easy, it was hard to imagine how she didn't notice her until she spoke. "Hello" She said. The female was on the other side of the water from her, but it wasn't like it'd take too long to reach her. The pond wasn't that big, and it didn't appear to be too deep either. She walked to the edge of it and followed it towards the direction the other was. It was nice to have company, and it had been a long time since she did. The other seemed fairly nice. A smile was upon her face. "I'm Kousetsu." She said finally, as she reached the other. She didn't feel like yelling was the best way to have a conversation after all.

Watching the other for a few moments, Wei couldn't help but be amused. The sand was tricky, which was why she hardly went anywhere in it that wasn't flat and stable. As the tan lioness slid down, Wei giggled, almost wanting to try that herself. But she was too comfortable where she was to really want to get up and go climb up a dune just to slide right back down. Maybe another day.

"Kousetsu?" The name sounded almost like it was name from her family. Almost, but not really. But it did flow off the tongue easily, something Wei always admired in names. Hers was so short, it didn't have time to flow off anyone's tongue. Once you said it, it was just there.

"I'm Wei." Smiling at the other lioness, she eyed her for a few moments. She had a pretty marking on her forehead that made her look so regal. "What brings you all the way out here? I don't suppose you're in a pride, are you?" She tried to word her question carefully, not wanting to give away what pride she was from, just in case.

Kousetsu continued to smile. It was a beautiful day, she had to admit, there was no reason for her not to smile. At least not in the presence of this female. The other almost seemed as happy to see her, as she was in seeing Wei. Perhaps she was as well, just as lonely as she was? She didn't dare to ask, it wasn't something she liked to admit. She was strong, or at least, tried to act it. She nodded at the other as she said her name. "Pleasure to meet you, Wei." It was a lovely name, at least she though. Kousetsu's was long, and meant snowfall, yet she didn't know why.

"Well, I was in a pride." She started trying to think of a best way to describe her situation. It wasn't an easy task, and yet she continued to think how. "Well... More I left it to find my own way." She told her finally. Thinking that best described it without going into too much detail. She didn't want to bore the other of her own misfortunes. At least, she thought they were misfortunes. It was never nice to start talking about stuff that wasn't a good story. To her, it made it look like they were trying to get some type of pity or sympathy out of someone. She wasn't.

"Why do you ask?"

"Oh?" Her story seemed a lot like hers, just a little different. Wei wondered for a moment what pride she must have been in, if she ended up leaving. There were so many prides, though, and they all had good and bads things about them, so maybe the other just didn't like a certain thing about her pride.

"That sounds kinda like me." Grinning at her, Wei felt more comfortable having some common ground with the other lioness. "I was born in a pride by a great lake. But I think a curse fell on us, since everyone seemed to disappear." Dropping her glance for a moment, she quickly regained her happy appearance. "But then I can out here. Can you imagine?" She laughed, comparing the two locations of the prides. They were just so different, and it had been hard for Wei to adjust initially.

"I'm in a pride here, though. Not too far away, actually. They're very kind, and accepted me in." She smiled, faintly hoping that maybe this lioness would want to see Wei's new pride with her.

Kousetsu beamed at the other, seeing as their stories were similar. At least, that's how the other said it. Of course, not the detailed part of it, but that wasn't really important. "Wow, that's amazing" She simply said with a wide smile upon her face. She never knew how much in common she could have with a complete stranger. Then again, it was just one thing in common, but it still amazed her. It was easy to amaze her.

As the other told her own story, it was less and less like her's. Though, they both were getting to a new start. That was just as good as any. She still smiled. It was interesting to hear about, to her anyways. "A curse, I couldn't imagine." She said with a disbelief sound to her voice. "Well, it's very nice out here. " She added at the end. "I think it's a place that anyone with a little adventure would love."

"My pride was mostly grass." She said with a nod. "Too big for it's own good, and not everyone is too nice." She admitted. "But, everyone needs their own life, right?"

A pride, out here? It sounded so exciting. "Oh! That sounds lovely." She said happily. "Do they mind if someone pokes around for a bit?" She asked her curiously. This place was probably the place she was looking for. Though, she wanted to fully make sure first. Going around and seeing the place. She beat it was beautiful. She couldn't begin to imagine what it looked like, or even how the locals would react to her. Though, the other insisted that they were kind, so it made things easier for her.

"Mm, I understand what you mean." Nodding her head, Wei thought back to her tiny pride. It was kind of dreary all the time, and the few members it had seemed to be hiding all the time. She didn't have many friends, and couldn't even call her family 'close', with her mother gone from the pride and her father a wandering rogue that just happened upon her mother one night.

"It's different here, but it's a nice place. I mean, I really like it." Grinning at the lioness, she looked at the sand for a few moments. The bright color of it seemed to make her smile all the time, never letting her spirits drop.

"If you'd like, I can show you." Rising from the ground, she shook her coat, getting all the dirt from it. Her paw was still wet, and the sand made a muddy texture on it, but she didn't mind so much. "Here, just follow me." Smiling, Wei could feel her excitement rising. The possibility of someone new coming to the pride was just wonderful, even though Wei had no idea whether Kousetsu was looking or just wandering around. But it was all quite exciting to the brown lioness.

( I'ma go ahead and finish this, then we can rp more later. ^^)

Kousetsu was excited to hear about this place. "Oh! That would be excellent!" She told the other with a smile. She couldn't wait to see this new place, and meet those who were in it. It was all exciting. She love this about going on adventures, but something wanted her to stay here. It seemed like her place. Completely her place. She followed the other, closely behind, while looking around wildly. Most would think there was nothing to see here. But that was where they were wrong. There was millions of things to see.
