 Odi sat patiently for the latest addition to the tribe, the kit he promised to take care of. The very thought that he made that promise made him hate himself at times, but he was a fox of his word. From what he could tell the kit didn't have a mentor and he could be that. He wasn't going to force the kit, he'd ask him when he viewed the time was right. Odi would show the kit what he could offer him, what he could make him into.

 Dakari was bored!
Seriously, there was nothing to do around here. All of the adults were too busy or too grumpy to deal with the purple-spiraled kit and his way of questioning things.
Currently the kit was eyeing a gray, white, and yellow male. He seemed to be deep in thought, and not pleasant thought if the ever-deepening crease between his eyes had anything to do with it. Dakari contemplated pouncing the male's tail.

Odi's keen eyes caught onto Dakari's strange pattern quickly and he sat watching him for a second. Finally deciding now or never he stood up and made his way toward the kit. "Dakari...want to follow me around for the day?" He asked the kit seeing his bored face.
The tribe was setting up still and everyone was doing something to help out. He was the only one on break since he had taught his lessons for the day.

Dakari pretended to debate over it. Really there was nothing else to do, especially now that his pouncing target moved, but it wouldn't do to seem to eager.
Still going for nonchalance, he shrugged. "Sure. What, you need a helper or something?"

Odi gave a small smile over seeing the kit seem to debate on the idea. He never been around a kit before since he was one and found it amusing how he acted. "Hmm, I guess you could say that." He said with a shrug as he walked toward the kit.
"I rather teach you somethings...better then what the others tell you. Must be annoying being bossed around." He said as he lowered himself to the ground, "You could ride on my back or I could pick you up in my mouth. Your choice." He said remembering how much their current shaman hated being picked up as a kit.

Dakari shrugged. "You can pick me up, I don't mind." He had quite a tough scruff from being picked up a lot; it would probably do him a lot of good later when he was an adult, if he had to fight.
The remark about being bossed didn't really ring with him. Dakari was a hard kit to cow, and looked at things more as him doing a major favor than following an order.

He gave a nod of his head for a moment before picking him up by the scruff. Odi moved swiftly through the forest to another section on his quick feet. Finally finding a spot he found good enough he set Dakari down.
"Dakari, can you tell me what "power" is?" He asked as his mind reached out and found what he wanted. He pulled a large rattlesnake toward the clearing and made it curl up on the fringe of their area. Watching them.

"Being able to do what you want," Dakari promptly responded, shaking out to settle his fur back into place. He looked up at Odi, tail swishing behind him.
((Odi just loves his snakes XD ))

Odi gave a nod of his head as he thought over what Dakari said. He had part of it down to say the least. "That's part of it, most kits wouldn't understand that." He said approvingly as he turned his attenction back to the snake.
He made it come to him and raise its body up to his face. "Although there's two other parts. The second part is being able to deal with others without fear." He said as he pushed his nose straight to the snake's nose looking it dead in the eyes. "The third part is...can you guess?" He said still holding his death stare with the snake.
((Lol yeah XD, if they had familers I would so get him one!))

Dakari was wondering what was up with the snake. Most adults freaked out about them being near kits. Doku had, and after that they wouldn't let him out in the forest alone.
"Not letting others get in your way," he guessed. It was how he thought. If others got in your way, there was always ways to get around. Subtle won over sheer force in the end.

Odi gave a glance toward Dakari seeing the look on his face from the snake. "I'll explain in a minute." He said as he looked back at the snake.
"Very good, most wouldn't understand that. Now with the snake..." He said making it back down from him to coil around itself. " You see, any fox that wants to make something of themselves in this tribe need to be like a snake..." He said as he controlled it to move toward the kit.
"They have all three of power. They can do what they want because others fear their bite. I been in their minds, they never fear anything. Even their own predators. And...they don't let others get in their way." He said letting go of the snakes mind enough that it had freedom of motion but not able to bite. It slid past Dakari lazily, no fear came from it's mind.

((Let me know if this screwed with any of your plans, but this is basicly how Dakari reacted in my head. Kinda distrubing, actually 0.o ))
Dakari moved with a speed that was snake-like in itself. He fastened his deadly-sharp teeth into the snake just at the back of it's head, snapping bones and severing nerves. It was already dead when Dakari shook it, breaking it's neck.
He dropped the dead reptile at his feet and moved back from it. The move had only worked because Dakari was an older kit, bigger than a newborn and more than a match for the rattlesnake. He turned his innocent blue eyes to Odi.
"Snakes may be feared on the ground, but to a hawk they are only food. It is good to fear other predator's, it keeps you from dying from overconfidence. No amount of power can save you from death." Dakari glanced over at the snake carcass.

Odi watched the little kit move and grab the snake with much interest. Before he had been questioning how well this kit would be able to perform but now he was glad at what he saw. He'd make this kit a killer yet.
"Maybe, but who are the hawks?" He said as he walked over to the dead snake and thre it in the woods. He slowly circled the kit his eyes focused on him.
"Dakari, the others at the tribe want to treat you like what your body is...a kit. But I'm willing to treat you like you will be, a monster." He said lowering himself down to Dakarai's eye level. "I don't know who you been with, but they can't teach you what I can." He said as he shifted his Kana tattoo for him to see. "This here taught me how to be a complete killer. Just say yes and I can make you into a hawk."

((Yea, that's just how he reacted >.> I think he gets violet only when his power is being threatened or challenged.))
Dakari tilted his head, examining Odi as he examined him. "What could you teach me," the kit asked. If he was going to be taught to be a hawk, he wanted a hawk to teach him. Not a snake. He wasn't yet sure which of the two Odi was.

Odi smiled seeing the kit question him. He wasn't stupid either, that was a major perk. "It's not what I could, it's would." He said backing up for a moment to look him over. "I could teach you easily how to kill, no skill really needed for that. But I can teach you things that the others couldn't...expect Sin, but you don't want to go that route. You'll lose yourself."
Sin even made Odi obident when the need arose. Not out of fear but out of respect and knowing the danger of Sin. "You see, I'll teach you how to be biggest hawk in a room full of snakes and vultures. A vulture would be Yuki, nothing against him but you need to watch your back around them."
