Of course, it wasn't necessary for her to stand in line, to wait amongst these mortals, or to pay for that matter...No, this was Ate's fun. She liked to listen to them, to hear what sort of little games she could concoct. These mortals, these humans were a necessity to her family...their regard fed the power of the gods...especially that of her father, Zeus...who had created them in the first place.
A sadistic smile pricked at the corners of her full mouth as she dug her hands deeply into the pockets of her coat. He had throne her from her home and not given that witch Hera so much as a frown...Ate had taken the brunt of his fury as though the scheme had been hers alone...
Her pretty teal eyes rolled to the back of her head in disgust. Now, thousands of years later, the goddess of ruin had taken her revenge through the creation...she made it hobby to deter the mortals from their worship and prayers, to rally them to dissension, bad blood and arrogance and over confidence were her greatest allies as she wove her slippery tongue in the ears of humanity...Wars came to be possible because of her play...
Voices caught her attention, pulling her from her dark thoughts and reverie. A group of young men before her in the line were grumbling amongst each other over something or other and Ate took a step closer, pretending to be trying to avoid the rain. She made a show of sneezing and the men turned to glance over their shoulders.
"Oh! Come on up here, pretty lady! Can't have getting soaked..." One said as he shoved his buddy over. Ate grinned and thanked them, hurrying under the awning. Men were so easy."

╚═══════════════╝ Amphitrite walked along the mortal world sometime in the early night, invisible to the humans. Somewhere amongst the crowd of people at the movie cinema, she appeared out of thin air in a different mortal form from earlier. Her sleek black hair turned into a curly dark brown. The facial expression she had seemed to have age a couple years, though she kept the same eyes. The goddess wore a semi-formal sea green dress and held a matching clutch bag, filled with mortal cash. Having nothing better to do, she stepped into the line to purchase a ticket for a movie.
Glancing around at the humans around her, she realized that she looked slightly conspicuous standing amongst mostly teenagers. Many of the mortals wore very simple clothing, plain white T-shirts and jeans. Oh well, too late to switch now. Next time wear something to blend in, Amphitrite noted mentally to herself.
