It is here that the mortals enjoy their coffee, and other morning pasteries.

Amphitrite entered the mortal world and walked into a coffee shop. Her mortal form only resemble slightly to her goddess one, but you can still kind of tell she was upset about Poseidon. Sitting down at a table, she did what every other regular mortal did, order coffee.

Ate had left her home hours before, unable to remain still as her adrenaline was still rushing from the events of the day. She had been strolling down the street when she felt her senses p***k with the hint of another immortal in the area...

Having nothing better to do, Ate decided to check it out...perhaps it would be the source of more fun.

Finally 'sniffing' out the goddess in a coffee shop, Ate slipped into her human form, looking only like a gothic punk college student and took a seat at a table near the goddess. She tried to contain her excitement when she realized just who it was...

"Crazy day, isn't it?" She asked instead. "All these riots and things...its like the city's going insane today..."

Amphitrite started sipping her coffee as soon as she muttered “Thanks“ to the waiter and he left. She was deep in thought until someone started to speak to her. Turning to her side, the figure looked like a regular mortal, but she realized that it was an immortal goddess, like herself. The way she dressed seemed familiar to her, but the memory was vague. But after a few moments of thinking back, she recognize almost immediately who it was, she checked just in case.

“Ate, dear?” The goddess asked questioningly and unsure. “Yes it’s been quite a day, for the mortals and myself. I return from vacation to find my husband with good and bad news,” she sighed briefly.

Ate smiled when Amphitrite recognized her. Better job than most in Olympus. She might feel a little badly for what she was about to do later...Maybe. The goddess nodded and moved to sit at the table with the Queen of the Sea.

"Yes, I'm glad to hear someone remembers me...At least a little." She said pleasantly. The waiter returned and Ate ordered a cafe mocha. "It was too bad the riot at the church ruined the wedding...That bride was pretty upset." She chewed on the inside of her cheek, it had been years since she had a chance to use her charm, rather than simply creating chaos. No, she needed to befriend Amphitrite.

"I thought I felt the earth shake a little...didn't think it was old Sea-Beard, though...Mind if I ask what news he had? I don't hear much about the higher ups these days..." Frowning, she studied Amphitrite's face. "And you seem so sad...Are you all right?" She looked genuinely concerned.

”Well, usually they don‘t remember anyone they cast aside, they just say we‘re just minors in the whole story and forget us,” Amphitrite said with a hint of sadness. It was true, if you were a god, not a major one, you just seem to sit in the dark and no one ever notices. Except maybe their consort. “That‘s a shame that the wedding didn‘t go well, but sometimes it‘s for the best. It may be a regret later when they learn that they could be unfaithful to each other." She knew how it felt to be betrayed after marriage, it has happened several times.

“Poseidon doesn‘t tell me much, just a few words and then leaves. He did cause a small tantrum in the ocean though, I‘m not sure did it effect the mortals,” She paused to think. “I‘m fine, mostly. It‘s just that Hades stole my wedding ring,” The sea goddess didn‘t know how it happened exactly. She didn‘t interrogate her husband quite yet. He was deeply depressed and she didn't have the nerve to upset him anymore.

Ate frowned and reached a hand across the table to pat Amphitrite's arm sympathetically while she listened. "I'm almost glad I've been banished...at least I'm free to come and close as I wish...don't have to answer to anyone." She sighed and took the coffee from the waiter as he appeared at her side. She waved him off when he lingered, he'd been trying to flirt with her since she stepped in the door.

"I don't think his tantrum affected the mortals, I simply felt the earth tremble a little...I s'pose I'm just sensitive to that sort of thing..." She sipped her coffee and leaned back in her chair, crossing one leg.

"You goddesses...I must say I admire your staying power...I couldn't bear staying with someone who treated me so badly...A nice home and nice things with nice clothes and jewels are not enough. I demand fidelity...if I were wed and my husband decided to wander I'd simply wander myself right away from him and never go back." She looked sadly at Amphitrite.

"You're so kind hearted...you deserve so much better than that."

My wish is to be happy,

She was in her mortal form. A fashionable young woman in her mid-twenties with black hair. Quite tall, and of course radiant. While walking through the streets earlier she was scouted more than twice! Rejecting their offers, she headed for Ate's coffee shop.

"I see... This is where everyone has been." Demeter had escaped Olympus for the time being. With no one up in the clouds, she was getting quite lonesome. "Ate, this is a nice coffee shop you have opened. The colors are pleasing to the eyes and the furbishing is excellent."

But even as a goddess, I am not.

Amphitrite was surprised on how kind Ate was. She would usually expect pranks or other mischief from her, but she seemed so different that day.

“I only stay because it’s the best for everything. My children would be upset if I left them and Poseidon would probably banish me from the water, my actual home,” She looked out the window. In a distance, she could see where the ocean was., a regular mortal would not be able to do so. “At some points he does truly care for me, but he’s a lot like his brother Zeus. The second another lovely lady comes, they run off. It’s a reason why my cousin Hera and I understand each other.”

Amphitrite turned her attention back to her closer surroundings after sensing another immortal being's presence. Glancing around, she saw another goddess come into the coffee shop. “Oh, hello Demeter,” she said politely to her sister-in-law.

"Amphitrite, hello to you as well. What brings you here?" Demeter walked over to her sister-in-law. Taking a seat on the same table, Demeter ordered lavender tea. When her tea came, she sniffed at the scent and took small elegant sips.

But even as a goddess, I am not.

"Ah, but you are of the sea...he could banish you from your palace, maybe...but what is stopping you from creating your own?" She sighed. "Your children are grown, now...are they not? Surely they wish for you to be happy...I have no relation to you and even my heart aches at the sadness in your eyes..."

Ate was momentarily distracted as Demeter entered, complimenting the shop. She smiled a toothy grin and shook her head. "Ah, thank you Demeter, but I'm afraid this shop is the handiwork of a mortal...and not mine. I simply enjoy coming here from time to time." She stood and pulled a chair over to their table for Demeter to join them.

"Come and sit with us. I've got to admit, I stay pretty lonely and I'm enjoying the company! You both are welcome and should come visit me in my mansion from time to time! It's gigantic and I'm always alone there."

(Sorry, I must have posted at the same time as you, Demeter...haha.)

Smiling at her mistake, she gave a small laugh. "Oh really? Well you chose places to inhabit very well. As for your offer, I might take it. Of course I need to talk to Zeus to let him know that I will be inhabiting the mortal world for the season. I might open up a shop here in this city. Do you think you can find me an apartment that can hold my living quarters as well as a small shop?" Demeter took another sip of her tea, clearly enjoying the fragrance and the taste.

But even as a goddess, I am not.

“I may create my own, but I cannot control it fully, Poseidon can control any bodies of water,” Amphitrite said sadly. “My children will be dearly missed. I don’t want them to be banned from seeing me. I’m not jealous and vindictive of the other nymphs and mortal women, that‘s only Hera. Over the eternity I learn to forgive him many times.”

“I’m walking along the mortal world while the servants fix up the palace. It got slightly destroyed after Poseidon’s little tantrum,” Amphitrite looked at Demeter. “Did you decide to escape Olympus for a little while?” She asked.

"What brings you here, Hera?" The goddess asked as she watched Hera come in. The coffee shop was beginning to fill with immortals.
