Sindar:
Sindar shifted uneasily on her paws, a silent whine escaping her as she danced in place. Imani had assured her that the pack was friendly enough, that they would be more than welcoming of them, and perhaps even expecting her to come and make an introduction but…a pack.

There were so many dogs. She could smell quite a few of them, even from her position outside of the boarder. Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea… but then Imani was already within their boarders, waiting for her. Perhaps it was a small test of her nerve, that’d be just like her.

But then…she couldn’t hide behind her sister her whole life. She wasn’t a pup anymore. Unfortunately.

Drawing in a long breath, she stepped forward, tail tucking as she loped forward. It had been so long since she’d been within a pack’s boarders. It was both exciting and terrible all at the same time. Imani had assured her this pack was worlds more peaceful than their birth pack, why she was so worried was beyond her. It was silly, she knew it, but her head was already playing games with her. Every shadow, every movement, every subtle sound had her hackling.

Of course…she’d laugh about this later on.

Drywit:
Days after the fact Drywit was still shaking the feeling that he almost knew Dapplespot (the female responsible for him being there now) in another life as best he could even after being taken into the pack, though, letting curiosity bring him back that way. Shortly after being brought before the chief the more bold and experienced members of the pack had given him a pretty good ribbing about how intimidated and uncertain he'd been, their teasing still ringing in his ears long after he had been assigned his "Wolf name". Drywit, huh? Well, that suited him just fine, though it had nothing to do with his true talents. He was a hunter for now, but he was quite curious about the tanners, den diggers, and tree shapers work.

It would explain why he was out heading towards the pack borders, peering back over his shoulder constantly to either make sure that he wouldn't be noticed or that if he was they weren't going to get the jump on him (As long as he didn't know that he'd long since been spotted by some of the others his pride wouldn't suffer any yet.). Was it his fault if he wasn't used to being active at night yet? NO. Crazy dogs, working when there wasn't any daylight, bending the truth with their fancy little exaggerations. Pfft.

"I wasn't dying when she found me. I'm not an idiot, I know how to survive on my own in the daytime! It's not like they can keep telling that story forever anyway." He grumbled, nosing at some sticks and rocks to look for anything of use for tinkering with.

Sindar:
It wasn’t for another few paces that the movements, shadows, and sounds became a justifiable concern. Perking her ears upwards and leaning hard into her shoulders- a trick she’d learned from her sister to look larger and more alert -she scanned the surrounding area. At first she nearly passed the moving shadow for just another cloud moving over the sun or perhaps another cluster of birds shooting from the long grass to flee from her. Not that she had the skill to chaise after them. Or the energy for that matter…

However, the shadow began speaking. It took a larger, more familiar shape. The shape of another wild dog. Perhaps it was one of the pack members?

She took another deep series of breaths, testing the air. Well he didn’t have the strongest ‘pack odor’ on him, but there was a good trace of it…perhaps he was new.

…And just who on earth was he talking to?

The female tipped her head to one side, her brow creasing as she listened to him ramble on. Her eyes darted to the empty space beside and behind the male. Empty. And on he went!

Drywit:
Once she got to know him, if she got to know him, as the rest of the pack eventually would, she'd realize that the particular male before her was a notorious grumbler when embarrassed or frustrated. The only reason he stopped at all was because eventually he noticed another scent close by and froze instantly in his tracks. Slowly, very slowly, his eyes lifted from the ground to which his nose was currently still pressed, up the length of her legs and to her face. In the dim light of the sun and the washed out brightness of the sky he looked a bit.... comically surprised. For a few moments he didn't dare move, talking having ceased.

    "Uhhhh.... hello...?"

    Well, almost.

Sindar:
Her tail instantly tucked once more as the male took notice of her presence. The alertness melted from her body, leaving her looking a little uncertain and fidgety. When he addressed her the young wild dog nearly leapt out of her pelt. He managed to stifle the yelp that had caught in the pit of her throat, instead turning it into a gasp of surprise.

Hello… okay he was making an introduction. It meant he was raised well….mostly. No one said ‘uhhh’. ‘Uhh’ was a filler word for those who didn’t know how best to fill in the gaps of conversation or didn’t know well enough that silence sounded far more mature than a mindless sound.

Still- he was being polite. She’d not nitpick. Her father would have-

Mentally swearing at herself, the female dipped her head shortly. “H-hello,” Oh good work, now she was stuttering. “I’m looking for my sister…she went on ahead of me, I…well we were…interested in settling down. Somewhere. Here?”

Drywit:
    "Oh!"

It was like a switch had been thrown. He stood up straight suddenly and seemed much more in his element than he had been mere moments ago, when he'd realized she had probably been watching him ramble like a bafoon.

"So you must be Dreamer's sister then!"

Hey, as far as they knew she was the only one who had a straggling sibling on the "outside". It was a safe assumption!

"Does that mean you finally came to join the rest of us?"

Sokka tried to remember. How accustomed had Dreamer gotten to the pack again? Was she already sleeping during the day or was she still easing into that? If nothing else, at least the Chieftess would still be up (That had taken some getting used to, a female chief?).

Sindar:
His exclamation earned another nervous jump out of the female. He was certainly an animated fellow, wasn’t he? Regardless, she smiled and shrugged her shoulders. Wait…

“Dreamer?” She narrowed her eyes and tipped her head. It wasn’t for a few more moments before she mouthed the word ‘oh’ and gave a short nod of her head. That’s right, they were given another name to go by. Dreamer… it seemed to fit her older sister well enough though it did beg the question whatever she’d do for her second name. If someone else would select one for her of if she had to think up one for herself.

“Yes, she went on ahead of me… I suppose this is my step out into the real world. No one to hold my paw or nudge me about.” She relaxed her posture slightly and brought a paw up to touch her chest, “I am Sindar. I’m sorry but you are-”

Drywit:
Sokka, Drywit, just grinned a bit, wagging his tail a bit excitedly. Pretty female, talking to him! Though that was becoming more common his male pride still got the better of him at times, usually when he was conciously aware that he had been acting like an idiot and wanted to make amends. Play it cool, Sokka, play it cool.

"I'm So-- uh... Drywit. Still getting used to this wolf name thing." It was still a little silly to introduce himself by a name that wasn't his birthname, but those were the pack traditions, he'd respect it, plus it kind of gave him something to hold onto for when he eventually met that special someone. Unbidden his thoughts drifted to the untamed Dreamberry. He had to fight not to let a dopey look cross his features.

Sindar:
The female’s lips twisted in what might have been a wince, a bemused smile, or perhaps a combination of both. Drywit? Certainly that wasn’t a name that the male had chosen for himself. Perhaps she was right to assume that someone else assigned names to their new members. “Dreamer” had told her of her new name, though it fit the older dog quite well. Quietly, she wondered what name she would be pinned with. Hopefully it would be more flattering…

“Well…it’s nice to meet you. You’re…a gentleman I assume?” She took another slow step forward and nodded her head in towards the pack’s territory. “Perhaps you can show me around and tell me what I can expect? I would rather have my paws wet before I dive in.”

Drywit:
His ego deflated a bit with a soft groan at the look she gave in answer. Just as he suspected, Drywit was a horribly unimpressive name. Maybe he could have it changed back in time. He could just pick something else for his soul name and no one would be the wiser, right? Yeah.

"Sure, this way." He partially drolled with a sigh, turning to gesture his head in the direction he'd come from. "The pack is about to go to sleep, so we better make the Chief the first stop. The first thing you should know is that the pack likes to keep to itself." He mentioned, glancing at her as he assumed she'd join him.

Sindar:
Sindar, as expected, was right behind the male. She kept a good three paces behind him, just in case. Call it paranoia or just being cautious, she wasn't ready to walk shoulder-to-shoulder with a stranger. The pack was new, and while Imani seemed confident that they would be welcome with open paws, "Dreamer" wasn't always the most logical of individuals. Sindar was logical, but a little over-cautious. Trust wasn't something that would come easily.

"I see...well that must be nice. Our last pack had rivals. We shared our lands with other tribes...sometimes a tribe would decide they needed a larger territory, or less competition."

Clearing her throat, she dismissed the unpleasant topic. "So, who do I see about getting my new name?"
