Dumisha had been in these lands for about a week or so now, and she was starting to see... that this was most definitely a place she could be happy in. The lands of the Motoujamii-Simo were full of strong lions to talk to and fight. However... what she really wanted to do was beat her rival from long ago.
Prowling about, it didn't take the young female very long to learn just where Kali was denned up. And then she stalked that area for a few days, watching his habits. He might see her, he might not... she didn't really care. Her aim was not to sneak up on him, but to study him - find out if he had a weakness and what it was.
Finally, though, one day she decided that she was ready. Walking boldly up to the mouth of the den when she knew that he was in there, the lioness let out a challenging roar. "Come out here!"

He knew she was doing it...as it wasn't the first time she'd approached him, and he just knew what she meant to do. It caused the large male no small amount of chagrin, honestly, as whilst he didn't at all dislike the female, this was starting to get bothersome. Hearing her voice reverberating about the walls of his den, he winced, ears lying flat against his mane in irritation. Ah gods, did she have to be so loud? He was trying to take a nap, really. Whilst he was pleased that she was strong enough to be a member of the pride, he'd not wanted to acquire a stalker.
Rising sluggishly to his feet, he stuck his head out of the den, eyes narrowed in what was his drowsy state, as well as half sheer annoyance. "Dumisha..." It was mumbled, Kali shaking his head with a languid sigh. "What on earth are you doing?" It was the heat of the day and the sun was high in the sky, and as the lion had had no duties to attend to, he'd really been looking forward to a few hours of respite. If this lass thought he was going to duel her, she was going to find herself sorely mistaken.
"I'm not going to fight you, you know..." He informed conversationally, slowly sitting down and eyeing her, wondering what sort of response that might garner. Whilst he'd seen flickers of her personality, not at all an unpleasant one either, behind all of that aggression, he did rather wish that she'd ditch it entirely. At least towards him. Perhaps he could get it through that thick skull of hers that they were allies without offending her too badly.

Dumisha grinned when she heard the male moving about inside, and stepped back to give him a bit of room to come out. When he did, though ... she frowned at his words. What..? Not going to fight her?
"Why not?!" she challenged, bristling. "You think that you're better than me?" The lioness growled, crouching down and glaring at him. She had run into plenty of males in her life who thought that just being male meant they were stronger... and she hated that.

Oi. One chill-pill for the lady please? He wrinkled his nose and shook his head. "No...it isn't that. I think you're very capable. I simply have no wish to fight you. I was napping, if you must know..." Pawing some of the sleep from his eyes, he yawned as though to illustrate his point. "And you've been skulking about here for days. I don't wish to battle. We battled not a week hence, can you not find another sparring partner?" Shaking the sand from his mane, his tail too flicked back and forth, still mildly annoyed by the entire scenario.
"How's this...why don't we just attempt being friends. A few weeks...a month...and then if you still want to battle me, I'll give you the duel you want." It seemed an easier way out of this baffling scenario. He really had no idea what her fixation with beating him was, other than it was purely vexating. Didn't she just know how to hold polite conversation? For crying out loud, they were a part of the same pride, but warriors from battling clans.

Dumisha blinked at that ... wondering for a moment if he was trying to play some kind of joke on her. Oh, she believed that he had been napping. Now that she was paying attention, she could tell that much on her own.
But. Be friends? Allies? What sort of an idea was that! Certainly nothing she'd ever done before with someone she hadn't beaten in a fight! And even then, she knew that if she'd won, then she was in control. She had even beaten up her own siblings before trying to befriend them when she was younger. This whole 'deal' of his was just... weird.
"Why would you want to be ... friends?" she finally asked, frowning slightly.

Well that was an odd sort of question to be asking now wasn't it? To tell true he'd never seen someone so flummoxed by a simple suggestion concerning friendship. Perhaps then, she hadn't ever had many friends, at least, not in the normal sense of the word. Rumbling softly, he wrinkled his nose, just shaking his head at her. "Because...underneath all of that bluster, I've seen that you can actually be quite enjoyable to be around." Strange, that she hadn't noticed it herself. Then again, he'd found that ladies were quite loathe to admit their own good qualities. It astounded him as to why, however.
"So yes...I'd like to be friends. I'd like to be able to talk to you without worrying about when you're plotting to challenge me next." That seemed a fair reason as any. "I'd like to get to know you. Not your claws."

"Hrmn..." the female hummed, appearing to think it over. "So. If I agree to this, it means I can't challenge you anymore?" Yes, she did have rather a one-track mind thank you. But still ... though it was odd that he wanted to be friends, it was strangely flattering at the same time.
"If you want to be friends... all right. Sure. I still want to ... spar with you though," she said, standing just a bit taller. After all, eventually she would win, right? Then things would be fine.
