Hay I was wondering if any one would know what would happen if I string my Boy really tight then wire him if his poses would hold better?

Eventually he will break. Too much stress and parts of the resin will begin to degrade.I leave my girl lose strung unless i am possing her for a photo session.

You should never ever ever string your doll tight it will put too much stress on the resin, and it will make it much harder to pose him because he will simply snap back. I suggest you try to hot glue suede him, or purchase some rubber joint disks. He will be able to hold pretty much any pose with those.

"Tight" is a pretty relative word, imo, so I'll try to expound what I mean with examples.
As a rule of thumb, the larger and heavier the doll, the tighter they need to be. For my standard SDs, the elastic should be tight enough that I can stretch it (without my fingers screaming for mercy if I take too long) just enough to string and unstrung them. For heavier dolls like EIDs or those big 75+cm ones coming out these days, you probably want them pretty darn tight. Why? Because the friction of the parts being pulled against each other is what makes them pose. If the doll is not tight enough, therefore the parts do not have enough friction to stick, then they will not hold a pose. That being said, some doll's sculpted joints are not engineered well and they will need additional aid (silicon kips/discs, traditional sueding, hot glue sueding... all ways of increasing the friction between the joints) to do anything. Wiring may also help for joints that won't hold a pose and are too tight to hold discs/sueding.
Smaller dolls like tinies can be looser without suffering from posing problems. My UID's elastic can probably be stretched out to about 1.5 her total body length, but she still stands, sits, balances, and poses her arms just fine. MSDs, too, can and should be looser than SDs. Because these dolls are lighter than their larger counterparts, they don't have to battle gravity, you know?
But if the doll is too loose, obviously, they won't do anything but flop around. Loose dolls can also "kick," but at a much less violent velocity than a too tight doll lol.
But, like the people above have said, a super duper I-don't-think-the-elastic-is-long-enough-but-I'm-going-for-it-anyway tight doll is not going to like it. Keep in mind that all elastic wears out over time and loosens with age... So it won't stay tight for forever, so if you restring your doll and you're worried it's a wee bit too tight, have no fear~ they'll relax soon enough. :)
