So when do you think Naruto takes place? Does it take place in older times or modern?

 "I think Naruto is modern, just they don't have cars or guns and stuff. The reason why is because they have VCRs, TVs, computers, headsets, movie theaters, and other high-tech things. I think those things migrated to Japan/the Ninja World, but things like firearms and cars haven't and as for that aspect they like more traditional things."

well i think it takes place in older times because if we compare it to real life all the countrys basically have the same laws while in naruto they all have different laws like how each village becomes a chunin AKA the village hidden in the mist compared to the leaf village, the village hidden in the mist has a 1 vs all and last one standing wins chunin while the leaf village holds a contest 1 on 1 which means it could take place in older times.
