The bright lioness yawned contently, lazily observing the sunset from the tree she’d claimed as a perch for the last few hours. Out of sheer good luck Fenja had managed to catch an adult impala by dropping down from this exact tree where the foolish herd had sought shelter from the unforgiving sun. She managed to get one of the her prey’s hind legs up the tree (for despite her familiarity with trees, she’d couldn't possibly get the whole carcass all the way up there like a leopard could) before getting a full belly out of what remained on the ground. Shortly after, hyenas had come and finished the job and though they made her a bit edgy, both parties had graciously ignored one another and now Fenja was alone, happy and very much lethargic.
Her paws were dangling from the branch, tail moved in slow circles and the lioness eyed the food she had stored for the next day, then the drowning sun, the bones on the ground and then the sun again. She wasn’t exactly bored and she did wish for something to happen.
“Something.” She whispered slowly, resting her head on the rough bark.

Fasa's eyes flashed in the sun ominously. He hated days like this, days that the visions literally hurt. The third eye pulsed angrily under his fur. This day, he especially hated. He was in an unfamiliar place, called by a vision - the vision of his daughter's pride.
He didn't want her there. Not at all. There was so much violence for such an innocent little being. He was grateful for the visions.
Sometimes.
Still, the patched lion shook his head, letting his steps wander away from his pacing-plot. He would need some time to sort everything out. If there was one thing he learned from his Father and Mother, it was patience. Patience for dealing with the unknown. He supposed that was one good thing.
Despite his plans, he paused. The area smelled vaguely of hyena and of lion. He frowned - he wandered far enough away for no pride to notice him, but... He couldn't see anyone, even if the scent was strong.
He hoped he didn't wander into someone's territory...

Fenja eyed the approaching lion curiously, resisting the urge to laugh out loud as her request was so quickly answered in the form of the male. She was quite aware that she wasn’t the only lion who liked to climb trees but the female felt particularly safe in the branch. Even if the male tried to follow her up there, she was fairly confident in the advantage that a higher position would give her in a fight. Hopefully it wouldn’t come to that.
She could see him frowning, probably trying to understand the particular scents of the area and Fenja couldn’t help but to feel a little playful, watching but not being seen.
“A little higher.” She said and it took all her restraint to suppress a giggle. “Hi there.”

The dark-faced male's ears swiveled forward - at the tree. He frowned at the tree's trunk and stepped forward. Stranger things had happened before, but he gave a tilt of his head.
"Hello," he called back, though not so loudly - his head was still pounding from the earlier onslaught of visions - in fact, his vision was still swimming with distorted images of the present. Mufasa touched his paw to the trunk of the tree, just to make sure it was there, and concentrated on seeing with his two regular eyes, and not his Seeing eye.
He blinked rapidly a few times, and searched for the voice.

When the lion’s head tilted as he watched the tree trunk Fenja did laugh because, from her point of view, it really looked as if Mufasa was addressing the tree itself.
Having a coat as bright as hers, Fenja wasn’t used to not being seen. When the lion touched the trunk a light shiver ran down her spine but when he didn’t try to climb and kept looking for source of the voice, she immediately suspected he was blind. Her tail twitched and hit the bark with a loud thud not out of irritation but desire to give away her position as quickly as possible. It wasn’t fun to hide if he actually had a disability.
“Are you okay?” She asked with a hint of concern when Mufasa blinked.

Ah, there! He looked up, suddenly seeing with his eyes again, and properly too. "Oh, yes, I'm fine," He responded, frowning to himself lightly. How embarrassing - someone had seen him at one of his low points. He tried to find a reason for his inability to walk properly.
Saying that he was a seer... it wasn't the best idea in some cases. "I was a bit dizzy," he said in way of explanation. Of course, he was beginning to go blind as well. He was climbing the age tree, and there was no changing that. He could still see, though... just with blackness creeping around the sides of his vision.
"May I ask why you're up in a tree, Miss?" He asked in curiosity.

Ah, good. He wasn’t blind. That would’ve been terrible, there was no way a fully grown lion could survive on his own with such a disability. He still looked a little vulnerable, dizzy he’d called it, and as such not much of a threat to the pale lioness. Adding his pleasant voice to the mix and Fenja found herself taking a quick liking to this lion.
“Are you sure you’re alright? You looked a little confused back there… I was starting to think you couldn’t see properly.” Fenja sat on the branch trying to decide if the higher position was polite for conversation. Getting back down was tempting but she didn’t trust him that much yet.
“Why I’m in a tree? You know, I’ve spent a lot of time in trees and I don’t believe anyone has ever asked me that before.” She laughed and her tail swished playfully a couple of times as her prism-colored eyes watched the bones the hyenas had left behind. “But if I were to answer truthfully, I’d say it’s a long story.”

"I couldn't for a moment..." he admitted, almost defeated. He partially wished he was already back home. When he was home, he could just sit under the great tree until the dizziness, distortion, and black spots left his vision.
He tried to keep focus on the lioness up in the tree for fear his vision would leave again. The black edged in white remained at the edge, but once he lost focus it started to filter back in.
"Is that so? I never heard of a lion in trees - a first time for anything, I guess," he studied her - she seemed completely white at first, and he could have sworn she was, but with the light, he saw a glimmer of colors against her pelt. "I'll be here for a while if you wish to tell, but of course, it's not my business to pry."

“You really couldn’t?” Fenja asked a little more concerned. “Has it happened before?”
The pale lioness listened carefully for any signs of dishonesty and finally decided it was time to continue the conversation on the ground and so, with little grace, Fenja slowly moved down the trunk of the tree.
“It’s not common but I’m hardy the only one.” She sat comfortably next to the male, her back against the tree. “Long story short… I was raised out here by many different creatures so I picked up on a few things. Also, a lone lioness like myself needs a place where she can feel safe. Our paws aren’t exactly made to climb but if the tree isn’t too steep, I can usually climb it. By the way, I’m Fenja.” Apparently, it wan't such a long story after all.

Fasa gave a small hum. "It happens quite often - more than I would like." He admitted, almost hesitantly. There were only a select few that knew - he was, after all, an important piece in his pride. Information on his weaknesses could potentially bring their downfall, but she didn't seem malicious at all.
"Is that so? I find it quite interesting..." he gave a small chuckle. "It's completely unique to me. You're the first I've encountered." He gave a small smile, trying to force away his spotted vision before giving a small bow. "Nice to meet you Fenja. I'm Fasa."

“So… you’re sick? Is that it?” prism-colored eyes filled with worry as the lioness stared at the lion’s eyes intently as if expecting to see some obvious fault in them.
“Nice to meet you too, Fasa.” She smiled widely but the brightness slowly faded to a somewhat hesitant expression quickly enough. “Will you be okay? You’re not… you know, becoming… blind, are you?”
The word “blind” was almost whispered as if it were a forbidden curse that should never have been uttered. Fenja couldn’t imagine how a rogue lion would manage on his own with such a disability. If it was a progressive condition he would probably need to find a pride that would take him in. “Are you alone?”

"Not sick, per se." He supposed it could count as a sickness, a gift... a curse, perhaps. There were upsides and downsides. "I'll be fine. It's just a side effect, of sorts." He frowned. He should really explain.
But, his father had changed a bit when he had found out that he was a seer. Almost obsessive and possessive, but he had eventually left. "I don't think I'll become blind. Returning from a vision to reality is... someone straining, but it eventually fades..."
He gave a small smile. "For the time being. I was traveling away from my pride for a small while."

She was hearing a couple of good things now. Fasa was not going blind and he was not completely alone either – both made the lioness feel very much relieved. But there were also things she didn’t understand and for the eternally curious lioness, that was great problem but one she was happy to work out with the patched male’s help.
“So it’s the side-effect of … a vision?” the bright lioness asked with obvious interest as she tried to put the pieces together. What did he mean by returning to reality…? That sounded pretty strange. “What’s a vision?”

"Oh, um." Perhaps he should not have said that. He was so used to living within a pride that knew of his visions. He was so used to being around those who had known he was a seer.
"Yes, I have certain... abilities, I guess you could call them." He remembered his fathers frantic search for those with his powers, but when the man had realized this, he only helped him develop his skills, though he had very little restraint, since his old man wasn't a seer himself.
But there was almost a greedy look in his father's eyes when Mufasa told him of the visions. At least the man loved him like a son.

She was closer to him now, eyeing him with curious eyes as she noticed a hint of hesitation in his words. Such a vague explanation…
“Abilities? What kind of abilities?” Visions. That’s what he'd said. But what could that possibly mean? What did he see that normal lions didn’t?
“I really don’t get it…” And he didn’t seem too inclined to talk about it either but Fenja didn’t really back down when there was a juicy bit of information dangling right in front of her eyes. She leaned back to sit and gave the lion a friendly smile. “I can keep it a secret if that’s what you want. I’m good at that. But I’m really curious now.”
