 Riley put one foot in the water at the edge of the pond. He had never went in before. He sat and stared at it. He wasn't one to shy away from something new, but he wasn't so sure about this. He was a playful, rambunctious stallion and loved to play games so today he was daring himself to do something new. Swimming was new, so here he was.

 Sugar was swimming along side with Yahto today too. It became an habit for both of them. Everydays she will come and swim with him until she is too tired to do. They played in the water, sometimes making big waves as Yahto jumped outside the water. She was laughing with her clear voice everytime splashes came in her face.

Riley heard laughter and looked out into the water. He squinted his eyes and saw a mare swimming with another animal he didn't recognize.
Riley took a deep breath and ran into the water. He went in until it was up to the tops of his legs. "Hello?" He called to the swimming mare, maybe she could give him tips?

Sugar was surprised to hear a voice and drank some water as she sank, loosing her concentration.
Coughing a little she stood outside water making a funny face. She loved sea but not drinking it, so salty.
Blinking a little she spotted the stallion near her. With a smile she greeted him back "Hello".
Yahto was a shy dolphin so he was hidding behind Sugar's back, waiting to see how things go.

He smiled as she rose out of the water a little bit. "Hi, I'm Riley." He said with a little bit of a shy voice, he wasn't a shy pony, but he wasn't sure how to do this swimming thing and he wasn't used to not getting how to do something right away.

"I am Sugarberry, you can call me Sugar" she smiled warmly. "And my familiar's name is Yahto, what are you doing arround here ?, swimming ?"

"it's nice to meet you both." Riley said with a dip of his head. "I wanted to try swimming as I love to play and that was one thing I haven't tried before." He looked at Sugar and Yahto, "Do you have any tips?" He could tell she was a really good swimmer.

((so sorry for the wait, I started school and it took me lots of time))
Sugarberry smile became wide. This stallion wanted to swim. He just asked for what she loved the most. "Tips, I don't know if it is tips but you need to start slowly. We are horse so, not really shaped to swim. So first of all you need to be accomodate to water. Here is different from lake or river. It si more deep, dark and salty."
Sugar became talkative, actually no one ever asked her about swimming so she was really happy and enjoyed it.

((I'm sorry too! I'm a teacher and the beginning of the year is crazy!))
Riley nodded his head, "So, should I just walk around for a while to get used to the water? Riley waded in and walked a bit around the other horse. He smiled at her as he thought that he was having fun already even if he hadn't really started swimming yet.

Sugar nodded "Yeh good idea. Start walking around; be aware of the different temperature in the water. But when you feel your hooves are not on the ground anymore come back."
She was following him while giving her advice. It was the first time she actually taught someone about swimming she hoped she will do it well.

Riley followed Sugar's advice by walking until he didn't feel the ground. Then he swung his feet back and forth and bobbed his head up and down. "Whoa!" He said as he went back where he could touch.

"You are good. I am sure you will be able to swim soon"
She tried to think about what she needed to teach him next.
"Ok, now just put your hoof on the ground. You need to try to put your head underwater. Slowly and not for long. Just so you can be used to the salty water"

"My head underwater? Ok, here goes." Riley dipped his head under the water and then left it for a few seconds. He felt his hair floating around him, this was an odd sensation. He finally lifted his head back up and spit out a bit of water. Blinking he smiled at her, "Good?"

Sugar was watching the stallion all the time, it would be bad if he drunk to much water and started to suffocate.
"Really good. You need to get used to it because sometimes if there are waves, water will go inside your mouth or nose and trust me it is not pleasant"

Riley nodded his head, "I bet! What should we do next?" He was eager to learn more. This was fun and he liked learning from Sugar. "How did you learn?" He had a feeling she was just born to it and didn't need to learn like him.
