I've had a Orange Teddy Bear Hamster, and he's one of the sweetest creatures i've ever seen. He lived for about a year and A half, my mom got him for me, when I was haveing a bad day. I didnt know anything about teddy bear hamsters, cuzz i've always had dogs, cats, or fish around me. He died about two years ago, and I still miss him. I named him Teddy bear, I swear he looked just like one, he was orange, and white. He never bit a soul. He was so friendly. I miss him more then anything. He used to get out of his cage, which was like a 50 gallon Tank, I dont know how he did it, but he was clever. He'd get out, and climb up onto my bed, and curl up in a ball next to my neck. He wouldnt poop or pee, anywhere, he was a very clean Hamster, and he'd eat just about anything, he was a chubby, ham ham. I love him so much.

One day, my cat climbed up on the cage and clawed him in the eye, he became blind in one eye, but that didnt stop him from being a sweethearted lovable Animal. The eye that was blind was white, and I was crying when my cat did that to him. crying . He was growing old, and older each month, he wasnt as active and I started noticeing his appetite was decreaseing, and he wasnt drinking water, he was lacking everything, exercise on his wheel, eating food, and espically drinking water. It wasnt till a week later i noticed he was just laying there and wasnt moveing, I picked him up thinking he was dead, and he wasnt, he had wet tail [A disease, where he internally poops out all his organs, and dies]. I was so sad, I told my mom to go up to the store and get him medicine to treat it, and at the time we didnt have the money crying . I kept him in a warm place, I forced him to drink water from a water drop squeezer, and I tried to make him eat his food, but he wouldnt swallow it, so i didnt force him, I didnt want him to choke on it, but he was becomeing weaker and weaker by the hour. Hours flew by lyke wind, and I woke up one night to check on him, I picked him up and he was rock solid dead. I layed him down, and later that day I burried him. I was crying all day that day, and I miss him. After his death i promised myself I'd never get another Hamster ever again, cuzz no ham ham will be lyke my Teddy bear. I miss my Teddy bear hamster, and I'd do anything to bring back my lovable, huggable, intelligent, beautiful creature. After his death I got myself a Guinea Pig, i named him Chubbits, and he's just like teddy bear, he's a sweetheart, he's chubby, and eats alot, but is very beautiful, and he's black and white, and very social. Chubbits, has never bit anyone, but he just doesnt lyke my cat lmao. He hates my cat, and its funneh how my cat acts around chubbits, and how chubbits acts the way he does towards my Cat "louey". XD. I want to get a pet hedgehog.

Here's a pic of what Teddy bear kind of looked like,

awww, sounds like he had a good life.

My first hampster was a good hampster He lived a happy life, he did escap a few times but we always found him. He died at the age of 4 1/2 of cancer.

My second hampster i didnt like so much mostly after she escaped and chewed a hole in my bedroom floor through cement! I was very mad at her and we had to catch her with a live trap. evil little hampster, she now has a new home with my friend accros the street.

AWWW, Well I can't say Teddy bear was that bad, I dont even recall him being bad, but his Mate, Girlfriend/wife Hamster "Big mama" was mean, she'd bite anyones finger off, if she had the chance. She bit me and wouldn't let go, and It hurt like a Mother Fu*ker cry . She died of old age, lived a great life, alot like Teddy Bear. 4 1/2 Sounds like a good lifespan, for a Hamster, You must have really taken good care of him. I'm sorry for the lose of your hamster, cancer sucks.

Wet tail is a rather serious condition for hamsters. Our third hamster years ago got it a few days after we brought her home, and it was quite a struggle to get her better. She ended up dying from getting it again over a year later. We've had three teddy bear hamsters, and I myself can't say it was too great of an experience. Of our first two, one of them was insane. Oreo. She was a creamy yellowish color. She ran almost 24/7 on her wheel so quickly that we thoguht she was going to kill herslef. It was cute and kind of funny to watch her run until we realized she'd been doing it nonstop for several hours. o.o She started picking on her cagemate, Pajamas, and we eventually had to separate them to prevent the death of the grey sibling. Oreo ended up breaking out of her cage after several attempts within a few weeks and dissappearing in the basement. We never saw her again. Pajamas became slightly insane afterwards, picking on our newest hamster, Elsha, when we got her (the one who got wettail). We had to separate them as well. Pajamas died from a broek neck: she climed to the top of her cage and jumped off over and over until it happened. Elsha, like I said, died of wettail. She was the sweetest of the three, in my opinion.

I had a much better experience with my gerbil, Mayanaka (midnight in Japanese). I got her from my highschool, who had two gerbils that had babies. Her tail broke from an accident as a baby, so it stopped growing and remained bent about 1/3 of the way down. She was very meticulous: you had to get the items in her cage exactly placed after cleaning it, or she would run circles and shove them around until she was satisfied. If the shaving made her wheel get stuck and unable to turn, she would stand on top of it in protest. I was the only one who could really pick her up, as I had a certain method she was used to. She would freak out until I actually picked her up, she realized it was okay, and then she just let me carry her. With anyone else, she freaked out. She lived to be about a year-and-a-half old.
