Funny but I feel like getting complimented on looks recently has been... depressing.

I remember back in the day when I would wish and wish I could be pretty and noticeable to guys. But now it has been like a lot of them forget you are an individual on the inside.

I did an exercise/meme a while back where you would say 5 things you liked about a person. I tried to say meaningful legitimate things and you know what I got back a lot?
I like your legs. I like your lips. You're cute. I like your cosplays. I like your hips. You're cute. I like your skin. etc. Oh great I am a doll. When people think of me I have a feeling the only thing they think of is cosplay. It actually sort of makes me want to stop.
I remember on cracked.com there was some article that was all "YOU KNOW COMPLIMENTING A GIRL'S LOOKS CAN ACTUALLY BE A TURN OFF." Ffff hey they ain't lying.

When Moose first brought up that he had a crush on me after a while I was a little like "How? You don't know or talk to me... You've only seen pictures of me if anything. neutral "

Maybe I just have a quiet personally that doesn't really shine.
IT IS LATE this might be my weird little passive aggressive way of being cranky.

LOL the first boy I ever really liked in college was the one who made the first move. And then a week later he was like.. acting weird. So I asked him if he was into this other girl that he told me about before which is why I was fine with being his friend. And he said yes.

So I asked him why he hooked up with me and ruined our friendship.
"Well... you're pretty?"

Turns out the girl that he liked didn't like him. And he has no one while I have Chris who I absolutely LOVE and is a million times better than he is IN EVERY WAY. What comes around goes around, douchebag. 4laugh

I know what you mean though. There were a lot of guys who liked me in my group of friends at the beginning of the year and I was like LOL YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW ME. And now we joke about how they used to like me. It's gonna happen, but trust me, it's so much more than looks. You have a GREAT sense of humor and you seem pretty confident. I think a great personality makes people appear so much more attractive and maybe that's where your exercise group got confused.

I feel like I lack personality AND looks, so I can see both sides of the spectrum here.

My family is getting really up-in-arms about me taking compliments on my looks. When I get them, I just... don't respond anymore. They're like, "say 'thank you', Cait" but I just don't believe that people find me attractive. I think my most recent haircut looks stupid and I want my hair long again so I can hide under it or something.

My personality is a big 'blah' on account of the fact that I'm ******** gullible and easy to sway, persuade and convince that I am the scum of the earth. Due to this, any thought that my mind has about someone being out to get me pollutes my thought-process and sends me into that oh-so-familiar spiral.

Enough about that, but I fully sympathize with you, Priscilla. Honestly, I wish I knew more about you. I feel like when I first came to this guild, you were one of my role models since people liked you and you were gorgeous -- I don't even think I stopped admiring you, and it sucks that you think that people think of you as a doll, or that anyone goes for anyone based on looks alone. You are stunning and sweet in your personality and looks. I wish we were better friends, and I know that someday you'll see yourself in the same light that we all see you. <3

Ugh I wish I could draw so I could say thank you by giving you all art but no that would be like stealing Athen's idea of drawing and sending art and I ain't no thief.

This is such a confidence boost. I am going to go kick open my front door and go scavenge for art supplies now.

yeah, I feel the same way sometimes.
I haven't talked to you TOO much but I think you come off as sweet, a little shy, reserved yet open to conversation, calm at times and worried at other times...haha, I don't really know what I'm getting at, but guys who are worth knowing will notice all sorts of things about the individual you are rather than just your looks.

I don't remember who said it, I think it was Danico but someone said my looks aren't good because I look like I'm a doll about to break. That hurt because now I feel bad in both aspects - personality and looks.
