It was early morning and Mneme could not find a sound sleep for the life of her. The night had been wrought with the sounds of hunting, mating and the general chatter of the bugs and it made her restless. The last straw was the feeling of hunger that resonated throughout her stomach at the break of dawn, giving her a small push to lift herself from the floor of the den and go hunt for the day. She'd have to be quick though, Aoide would notice her gone after some time and panic.
She didn't like leaving her sweet sister behind, but Aoide was mostly useless on a hunt. Since she could not speak, Mneme could not communicate with her well as she hunted and often times they ended up running into each other or missing the kill completely. Mneme felt guilt upon leaving Aoide back at the sleeping area, but she'd feel much better later after she fed and brought back the rest of the kill for Aoide.
Even though Mneme was technically Aoide's older sister, she felt like her mother from time to time, and it didn't bother her. In fact, it was a small guilty pleasure of Mneme's. She had not always been as confident as she is now, but since the events of their past unfolding she was forced to be and she grew to like her role. She dreamed of possibly being a mother one day, but she knew that because of Aoide and her's curse she would never be able to settle down to start a family of her own.
Noticing a gazelle in the distance, Mneme began to stalk, quickly creeping up on the prey as best she could without it noticing her. She always tried to bridge the gap between her and a kill quickly, wanting to maximize the possibility of her actually getting the kill. Sometimes it worked out, others times it didn't.

As Seizken watched the sun begin to rise, its magnificant glow began to warm the air. This morning was the type of morning he loved to hunt on. The warmer air would draw out more morning food options. As he looked behind him he noticed his shadow, and he realized it was about time to head out for his morning hunt. As he began to try and stand up, he fell right back down to the ground. His body did not agree with leaving, all it wanted to stay underneath this tree forever.
Little did he know the loss of the one he loved had weaked him body and soul. As soon as she disappeared, his reason for living disappeared with her. Taking all the strength he loved and protected her with. An making it vanish from the heart of his body. That strength that had gone, was all that kept him from giving up every day in and day out. He had seemed to finally worn down...
"I can't do this, I have to forget her," he whispered to himself as a vision of her flashed in and out of his mind at the mention of her. With all his might he forced himself up and off the ground. For he refused to give up now, and weather his body wanted to or not. He knew inside he still had alot of life left in him, and the hope of a family still lingered in his mind.
Having risin to his feet he looked out over the land. As soon as his eyes glanced towards the horizon he noticed a gazelle running in his direction. Maybe things are getting better after all, he thought to himself as he began to get ready to hunt. This hunt should be easy enough or so he thought, as he began to sneak towards his mornings breakfast.
