Bio: Crystal started out as a normal girl, born in New Orleans, Louisiana in the DC Universe. Mother a stay at home mom and father a genetic research scientist named Dr. Emil Dorian, she lived in a well off home for the earlier part of her childhood.
When she was four her mother started to get sickly. With her mother being diagnosed with a genetic disorder that causes the DNA to slowly deteriorate, her father swore to find a cure. After that point her mother spent the next few years going in and out of Women's Hospital and the family moved to Baton Rouge.
It was only eight months later that the doctors found out that her mother's condition was more aggressive than they had hopped before and that it was possibly passed down to Crystal, depending on how long it had laid dormant in her mother.
On Crystal's 6th birthday her mother, now in every day pain and confined to a wheelchair, went back into the hospital to be told that she only had a few more months to live. As each day passed her father became more and more obsessive in finding a cure for the virus and with each failed attempt came closer to loosing his sanity.
Her mother died a month later. Crystal was taken in by a friend of her father's, so that he could have a chance to straighten things out. Her father took her back after the funeral had been held, now depressed and defeated. Crystal didn't quite realize what had happened but she did know that her mom was gone and that her father was hurt because of it.
About a week later her father got a call from Women's Hospital, telling him that Crystal did indeed have the same condition and that they didn't know how long it would stay dormant for. It was this that finally made her father snap. He had already lost his wife and wasn't about to loose his daughter.
Within the next 3 weeks things went from worse to hellish as her father started to try to experiment with her DNA. Crystal, having a phobia of needles was literally in hell as the months dragged on. Eventually she was confined to her room, away from people and all of the rest of the world so he could watch her in a controlled environment.
Each and every day got worse and worse for poor Crystal. Even though her father kept her fed and always brought her new games and toys and things, she still felt unwanted, hated and was still getting poked by more and more needles all the time.
Seven months after her Seventh birthday Crystal started to get ill. Her father, assuming that it was the virus starting to activate, started to spend more time in the lab rather than watching her. Crystal, noticing that her dad was now disappearing for eight to ten hours at a time, realized that she could get away.
Wile watching his patterns for a few days she started packing her old school back pack and a rolling suitcase she had in her closet. Once she felt she had every thing she needed from her room she snuck to the kitchen, took some food and put it in the bags before running away.
She got away from her father, quickly, quietly and safely. She got to downtown Baton Rouge and decided to camp out in one of the ally ways closer to the residential area called Gonzales.
The next few moths were harder than she thought it would be, having no one now and not knowing what to do with herself. Her appearance changed, her brown hair turning black, becoming taller and lanky real fast and growing cat ears and a tail during her time on the streets. She struggled on past her birthday and into September. It was now getting cold and she had no warm clothes with her.
~
She looked for warm clothes being left out that she could snitch for herself. It was on one of these runs that she saw Three men run by, one showing her kindness and giving her some money before running to catch up with the other two and soon followed by another man who was screaming cuss words in a string, swearing to capture the men he was following.
Crystal, now knowing a lot about this city, watched where they turned and knew what way they were heading. She got up and ran after the three men, taking a shortcut and coming out in front of them a bit. She saw them getting in a car and she scurried over, getting in, not being noticed.
Once the tree men realized she was there she told them who she was, changing her last name to Lasill, and what happened to her once asked about the ears and tail. They ended up liking her and taking her in as one of their own, with the gunman being on edge about it all.
Getting to the three's place of current stay she met a woman that instantly didn't like Crystal. The woman begged for the others to just leave her out in the cold, saying that Crystal was a hazard for their line of work. The man that gave her the money, a white man sporting a afro and wearing a red and blue suit called Lupin the 3rd, just laughed and told the Woman, tall with big boobs and wearing a mini dress called Fujiko, that she was just jealous. The gunman, wearing a black/gray suit and fedora called Jigen and the other man, a samurai in a gray and white gi called Goemon looked at each other and silently agreed to stay out of the argument.
Crystal soon found out that her new family was a group of thieves and that Fujiko wasn't to be trusted. She started to bond with Lupin first. He started to teach her the art of pick pocketing, A basic in the study of thievery.
It was within the month that Crystal got to go on her first heist as a distraction for Pops, the other man that was chasing them back in Baton Rouge. She was dressed in a little ball gown with elbow gloves, nice sandals and a held mask, the heist was in New Orleans and it was Mardi Gras.
Crystal, after an hour of being there, went up to where Pops was stationed, getting his attention. The man was still dressed in a brown suit, fedora and trench coat, looking like he was about to bite someone till he realized that it was a small girl tugging on his coat.
She gave him a sob story she had rehearsed before about how she had lost her mommy and that she needed his help to find her. Pops of course fell for it and wile he was distracted as the men got away and Fujiko played her part as "mommy" as she picked Crystal up and left.
This was the normal scope of their heists for the next four years, Crystal being done up with Lupin's actor makeup to change her appearance some all the time. She had a lot of fun and loved being with the gang. This time though one of Lupin's plans meant for the gang to be in jail for a couple of years so they sent her off to stay with the only person they truly trusted, Pops.
Crystal arrived at Zenigata's door and knocked on it softly. Pops answered the door and looked at her, asking what it was she was there for. Crystal handed the man the note that Lupin' wrote and he just about had a heart attack. At first he refused to take her in but after an hour or two he gave in and let her inside. This was when she met his daughter, Toshiko, a small girl that was about five years older than Crystal, normally wearing sundresses or pants and tee shirts during the summer and sweat outfits for the winter.
The two girls became quick friends and Crystal followed Toshiko where ever she went other than school. It didn't take long before Zenigata realized that Crystal had not been to a real school for a long time and had her start going to the middle school right across the street from where Toshiko was attending.
Crystal's life became normal for the three years with Pops and Toshiko. Pops didn't do much with Interpol with Lupin' in prison so he stayed home with the two girls for long periods of time between minor cases that he worked on. One time he had a harder case than usual and Toshiko's mom stayed with and watched the two girls, constantly complaining about "Koichi's work obsession".
Once Lupin' and gang were done with what they had to do in the prison they broke out and sent Crystal a message to meet them down town to pick her up. Crystal of curse went there, unknowingly being followed by Toshiko. When they got there to pick up Crystal Toshiko confronted her and Crystal told her that they were her family too but Lupin' was the man who saved her.
She didn't participate in heists as much for the next two years but still had fun with her family and continued her studies of the art of thievery. On her seventeenth birthday she went to her first concert, Meat Loaf, with the gang. Incidentally, that's what they had for dinner that night. After that she started going back on heists, having more involved parts now seeming the whole "I lost my mommy" thing wouldn't work with her age.
When she was nineteen she felt that she was ready go off, out on her own. She found, within six months, that she was wrong. She had enough money to survive and just have fun for a wile so that's what she did. She went out one night in Gotham and got attacked by a group of thugs. The one that attacked first went at her with a pipe and she quickly disarmed him and used the pipe like a sword, using her training from Goemon Sense', to "Beet the bad guy outta him". She then turned to the others as Batman landed behind them, Robin on one side and Batgirl on the other.
The thugs didn't have a chance at that point. After the fight she started to follow Batman, asking him questions and just being her curious self. The next few nights she would look for him and, upon finding him, continue to follow and watch him. She decided that she would help out and, getting her own costume together, she went out on her own to fight crime, calling herself Catgirl.
She mostly stayed with the little guys like thugs and street gangs. Once Batsy found out what she was doing he found her and took her to the side to give her the "This is a dangerous job and she shouldn't be putting her life at risk" lecture. She responded with "Yes... This kettle is very black indeed, sir Pot."
She ran around till she was almost twenty and found she was running low on funds so she went out to find work. She tried a lot of places but was turned down due to her not having any work experience. She was close to giving up and going back to the gang when she wondered into the Iceberg Lounge, looking to work there.
She impressed Oswald with her abilities and looks. When he had her try on a few of the work outfits she noticed the smile on his face and laughed, telling him that she wouldn't care if he was perverted that she was raised by a pervert anyway and was used to it, although it was never directed towards her. This tid bit of information impressed Oswald more and she was almost sure to have the job.
Crystal, of course, passed background check for his standards and made it through the trial period. She made her ears and tail look fake, wearing a headband to make her ears look to be a part of it, wile working at the club, seeming she can't hide her tail in a skirt that short. She stayed working for Penguin for about two years before she quit on good terms. She continued to visit the club at least twice a month.
She started to run around as Catgirl again but now in more showy outfits and she changed her code name to Nohboddy. She now started helping Batsy out on his missions against the "real villains" as she calls the worse ones.
~
Once the worlds collided she almost died in a fight and hid away until things calmed down. After that she came back out and started doing her old tricks. One night she decided to take the mask off for awhile and go home for a bit, not knowing what to expect.
Of course it was very different yet came closer to the old than most places were now. She went to a quiet bar off the main drag and looked around, seeing the husband of her old neighbor playing cards with a young man around her own age. She laughed and waved to the old man. She asked him if he's won a game to date and his response was "This is my lucky night. I can feel it."
She shook her head and looked at the man who he was playing, "You've been cleaning him out haven't you? Well don't take all his money or his wife'll kill him." She smiled as she pulled up a chair to watch. The young man tried to make a proposition, that Crystal play for him and the old man denied it, saying he's played her before. The two laughed and the men continued their game.
After the old man had decided that it was not his lucky night and had left, she and the young man startled a little conversation of their own. After a wile of talking and making jokes, she asked him if he was one of those mutant people from the other world. He told her that he was, getting ready in case she started something. She smiled and nodded, telling him she knew cause he smelled different and that usually meant that the person was one. She immediately shook her head, answering his question before he could ask, "I'm what one would call a metahuman. My father changed my DNA as a child"
She took a sip of her drink as they continued talking. they compared the differences of life in New Orleans for the two of them, enjoying each others stories. After a wile she heard something down the street and smiled at the man. She bid him farewell and went off, gearing up for action once in the alleyways.
It is now present day and she is back in Gotham right now. What happens next is up to the game.
Extra: Dr. Emil Dorian seeks her once again after his creation, Tigris, went rogue on him and allied with Batman.
