Well, I basically just kept my people at 'good' health and only resting when everyone was at 'fair' and you need really good aim with the hunting game. Try to conserve ammo, and don't worry about the loot.

Take an a** ton of ammo, use Edmund, and take the Titan...>___>;;

At least that's how I did it...

I've only managed to beat it with Edmund so far...Although I played it at least eight times...

But, I do know that you're supposed to take a lot of ammo, kill off at least one crew member early, don't waste your shots on the rock puppies and tumbleweeds and clouds, and go through both the mountains and the desert. Also, you have to sneak past the vampires at the end.

And, apparently, Edmund and Dierich are the easiest to play with. Also, never, ever, whatsoever, shoot the elks when you have Carl as your guide.

I cheated...
mrgreen
Well, not really, sorta.... maybe?
I looked up Frontier Skies in the search... and found a tip topic - seems there are quite a few now, though.

I used Louie, the fastest ship, and started with ALL ammo, no food. Also, an AWESOME cheat I learned: hunt, save and quit, come back, hunt again immediately afterward instead of having to wait 50 miles to hunt again.
When in the forest, it's best to hunt elk, sasquatches or bears, since they give off the most meat. Also, shoot grunnies instead of veggies, because they both cost 2 bullets but the grunnies give 25 lbs. of food, whereas the veggies give only 20 lbs.
In the desert, the flopping fish gives 60 lbs., I think, and the vultures give off decent meat if you have good aim.
Over seas, it's best to only hunt the crabs! They cost 2 bullets each, but give off 50 lbs. of food!

The way I won was cutting through desert, then going overseas because there's better hunting there.
I got 948 points and a Frontier Skies Shadow Medal, which I think is somewhat of a lame prize for spending two hours of my life on the game.
Although you can sell the medal in the marketplace for about 35k at the moment. I'm hoping that price will go up...

Never ever ever shoot deer with Carl. Baaaaad things.

^_^ I won on the easiest guide, the little hyper grunny. I bought a ton of ammo and not much food, because first I tried it with Louie and I ran out of ammo in the DESERT. But during the volcano, I lost 3 of my crewmembers.
And I started to shoot the tumbleweeds. They give off a low low low amount of food, but it's a lifesaver if all of your crewmembers are sick and you have 0 food.

Also...
THE STUPID MOTH KILLED MY STUPID CREWMEMBER.

That is all.

I HATE that moth gonk I've beaten it twice, once with Sam and once with Deidrch the grunny. Roughknite likes to kill off all his crew by keeping them on meager and keeps his last one all the way through. -_-;

I've tried to do that once or twice, but then I get some random event saying that Dave's a cannibal and dies. I gotta admit, it's a good strategy if you're low on bullets.

When I won, I only had two Crew members left from the desert on. It definitely helped with my food supply!

But most positively, definitely, certainly, use the hunt-save-hunt trick! THAT is a true lifesaver. With this, I would recommend beginning with ALL ammo, NO food.

Also, the topic with all the Frontier Skies tips had a list of all the random situations and told you what the outcomes were. It helps you to do the right thing every time!
