Guidelines

~You can try for both eggs, but only one prompt is allowed per person.

~RP in foal stage for your response. We need a little more movement than an egg rolling. X3

~No, we don't know what the genders are, so just pick one for your response.

~RP only with the available foals and anonymous characters. Don't rp the family that is already owned.

~All Gaia and Aerithe rules apply here.

~As usual: no whining, copying, hassling, arguing, or anything of those sorts. This behavior will disqualify your response.

~If you read these, mention “family love” in the appropriate place.

~Have fun with this!

Contest ends September 4th, 5pm EST.
And a handy Countdown, for those tricky time zone issues!

So, now that the rules are done, why did you have to read through all that?

And how can you be a lucky winner? By RPing, of course!
(Remember, these prompts apply to both eggs.)

There has been a heavy rain and the fields are flooded with water. While the rest of the family sleeps, you look out in wonder at the lake that has replaced your playground. How do you respond to all the water? ((you may use both unclaimed foals here if you wish))

Prompt 2:
Your siblings have once again gotten you to tag along on a trip through the woods, but you somehow get seperated. How do you handle your first time alone?

Preference: Egg 1, Egg 2
Foal's Name: Windswept
Meaning: ((optional))
What love?: Family Love
Chosen Prompt: 2

Prompt Response:

The white foal leaped easily over fallen trees, ducked under low hanging limbs, enjoying her run through the woods with her brothers. She slowed her pace, ears pricked for the sound of her brothers setting the pace ahead of her. White hooves came to a standstill as she held her breath and listened. Only chirping birds and squeaking squirrels answered her questing ears. Slowing her breathing, she turned her head this way and that trying to pick up a sound of something other than rodents and fowl. Her nostrils flared trying to pick up her siblings scent on the late afternoon breeze.

Nothing, she thought. Nothing to tell me which direction they went. A small quiver of panic threatened to rise and she squelched it quickly. No need to panic, she told herself, if she couldn’t find them, then she would just turn back and go back the way she’d come. Turning to look behind her, that quiver of panic was getting a little harder to keep at bay. The trees showed no obvious path of where she had just run through with happy abandonment. She’d followed her brothers, leaping and dashing here and there, not following any defined woodland trail. And not paying any attention to where she was going, she chided herself.

She stood still, wondering if she should wait for someone to try to find her, or venture out and try to find her way back. In her quiet deliberation, she began to hear more of the sounds of the forest around her. Strange guttural noises, from animals much larger than flighty birds and noisy squirrels, she was sure. This is not good, she thought. She’d been warned not to go out alone. There were things in the forest that were bigger than her and they would eat her. At least, that’s what her brothers always told her. She hadn’t wanted to come into the woods today, but they said she’d be safe with them. For a fleeting moment, she wondered if her brothers had led her out here and then deliberately left her behind. She stamped a white cloven foot. She refused to believe that. Her brothers might constantly tease her, but she could never believe that they ever meant for her to come to harm.

But still, they should have noticed by now that she was no longer with them. She peered through the trees, ears twitching to pick up any sound of kirin hooves. Then again, she thought, boys can be rather mindless at times. They probably kept on running, not even realizing she hadn’t kept up with them. “Well, that’s just fine,” she said to the forest creatures that she was sure were spying on her. She hoped by putting on a brave front, anything watching with ideas of eating her would have second thoughts and just go away. Stamping her foot again, “I’ll just find my own way back home.” Determined to prove she was just as smart as her brothers, the white foal picked her way through the trees, following what she hoped was the way back home.

Preference: ((Egg 1, Egg 2))
Foal's Name: Ayita
Meaning: First to Dance
What love?: Family Love
Chosen Prompt: 1
There has been a heavy rain and the fields are flooded with water. While the rest of the family sleeps, you look out in wonder at the lake that has replaced your playground. How do you respond to all the water?

Prompt Responce:

She looked out silently as she stood in the little alcove where her family now rested. Her parents and siblings slept peacefully, but she somehow continued to wake now and then. She gazed out in silence and wondered at all of the water on the ground before her. The scent of water, fresh, wet dirt and new grass reaching up through the ponds that formed everywhere reached her nose and gave her her first scent of true spring. Ayita laid down and set her chin on her front knees, bright eyes peering through the fine fur of her mane. Even though she couldn't see her play ground, she knew it was there beneath the water... and she knew when the water was gone she'd be able to play again. She stood suddenly and paced a bit, considering... she had never played in the rain or the mud before, but she had seen other foals out there a time or two. She stepped forward on delicate little hooves and watched in young, startled fascination as her foot disapeared, sinking into the mud. She pulled it out and she heard the squelch it made as it came free. She released a soft chirrup of amusement and leaned back, shaking the mud from her hoof. She laid down once more and watched the reflections of the clouds in the sky shimmy over the water's surface.

Dragonflies were flitting to and fro, each quick and erratic movement catching her eye and turning her head. She heard the smaller animals beginning to move around the small alcove where her family rested and she watched with awe as the colors of the sky began to change, turning from black to blue and then to grey before it turned purple. How pretty... she thought, her pale form cast gold in the early, rising light. The purple faded into pink and then to various colors of orange, red and yellow. There were still too many clouds in the sky to see the blue but they were lovely... fluffy and collorful. Like flowers in the sky. Birds began to sing and move about, flitting two and fro, dipping in and out of sight as they fed off of the insects on the water. A few pale bats also dive in and out, flicking about agilely. She looked on with wonder and observed the scene of life. She found so much comfort in the world around her that slowly, little by little she started to feel drowsy until she laid down once more amidst her siblings and fell into a deep slumber, filled with dreams of spring and life. She dreampt that she was dancing amidst all of the animals in the rising sunlight... dancing to the sound of the Music of Life.
