So... some 3+ years later, looks like Subaru's finally owning up to cheating its customers. I think some of our members actually have cars within the class-action's conditions.

Class Action Lawsuits in the News
A class action settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit pending against Subaru of America, Inc., Subaru Auto Leasing, Ltd., Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. and Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (collectively “Subaru” or “Defendants”) in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York (styled Peter A. Vasilas, Scott Diamond, Robert Kasindorf, and Paul Thomas, Jr. v. Subaru of America, Inc., Subaru Auto Leasing, Ltd., Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. and Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd., Civil Action Case No. 2007-CV- 2374 (GBD)), alleging, among other things, that that the odometers in their Subaru vehicles overstated the mileage of the vehicle and that Subaru of America had breached the warranty and violated the Federal Odometer Act, according to the Subaru class action settlement notice.

The Subaru odometer class action lawsuit was brought on behalf of the following, unless otherwise excluded:

All persons and entities who either bought or leased in the continental
United States of America and Hawaii a Subaru vehicle, Model Years
2002-2007 (the “Class Vehicles”).

If the Court approves the proposed Subaru odometer settlement, Subaru of America, Inc. will extend by 5% the mileage-based coverage periods of certain warranties, extend annual mileage allowed by vehicles leased from Subaru Auto Leasing, Ltd. by 5%, and reimburse certain repairs and excess mileage charges.

The Court is scheduled to hold a settlement hearing before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, 500 Pearl Street, New York, New York 10007 on November 8, 2010, at 9:30 a.m to decide whether the proposed Subaru settlement is fair, reasonable, and adequate and should be approved
