ഋA Shallow Graveഋ
The Game of Murder Most Foul!
♦ ♣ ♥ ♠ ♦ ♣ ♥ ♠
○Welcome!○
Welcome one and all to the little house of horrors; where the killers are (hopefully) creative and you write your own story as you go.
Will you be able to put the clues together to solve the mystery? Will you be brutally murdered with a frozen pudding pop? Only time will tell!
If you'd like to participate, please, read on for more information.

○Ye Olde Rules○
For everyone
1) You can interact freely with your environment, but don't leave the setting of the game.
2) Feel free to be as in-character as you like! Be yourself, or be someone else. The objective is to have fun so you can be a totally different person each round. There is no restriction on this- you just can't assume the identity of another guild regular.
3) You can not suicide out of the game by any means. This means getting yourself killed (Intentionally or writing yourself into an accident)- I'm alright with you not posting if you decide to leave the game for any reason, but you can't write your own death in.
4) You need not exclusively be dedicated to your tasks at all times; there is no time limit on the game though the killer will strike regularly. Feel free to mingle and entertain yourself while you're here.
5) GAME RELATED drama is permitted (you can freak out about the corpse that just inexplicably fell on top of you to your hearts content to the first living person you encounter) but there will be no personal attacks or no personal drama brought into the game. Debates about clues and who the killer is, go for it. Arguments about who's fault it was that an EB run was unsuccessful three days ago, that's for another time and place. This is meant to be fun for everyone involved, and it should stay thus.
6) The game ends when the detectives either guess correctly, guess incorrectly, or only one detective remains. When only one detective remains, the identity of the killer is obvious- and the killer is the winner.
--
Rules for Bait Detectives
1) Detectives are any players who are alive, but are not GM's or the killer.
2) Your goal is to cooperate with the other detectives. There is no prize for being first to solve. Prizes are earned by merit, but we'll get into that later.
3) The killer is amongst you. That means, someone who says they're working with you is a liar. It's part of the game, thou shalt not be offended.
4) Not all clues will be legit. Sometimes that broken vase was just knocked over by the wind.
5) You can not kill other players.
6) You can not communicate with ghosts.
7) You only get ONE CHANCE to solve the crime! Make sure you're sure of your answer and there's a majority consensus before coming to a GM to solve! Obviously the accused isn't going to agree with you- there's never going to be a 100% unanimous decision. When solving, just make it obvious that you're attempting to solve and not just discussing- IE, 'ATTN GM: IT WAS---' or something similar so that we know what you're doing :3
--
Rules for Killers
1) You can not kill players in the thread, for obvious reasons. You will be contacted via PM by the active GM when it is time to kill, respond with your victim and means of slaughter.
2) Gaia is PG-13. Therefore, you can't go into too much detail.
3) The GM will rewrite your response into their own wording to prevent you from being identified based on your writing style. Thou shalt not be offended.
4) You can not kill GM's. We're not contributing to the solving of the puzzle.
5) Your success depends upon you blending in with the detectives and convincing them that someone else is the killer.
6) Of course, if you wish to have any chance at all of ever being a killer, your PM's must be set to public. If your PM's are set to private at any point and GM's lose contact with you or you suddenly disappear and stop communicating with the GM's while you are the killer, we will hijack the game and continue without you.
7) You can not communicate with ghosts.
--
Rules for Ghosts
1) Ghosts are detectives who have been killed.
2) You can still post in the thread, because we love you.
3) You can only communicate with other ghosts.
4) You are welcome to haunt the living.
5) Alone, you may move small objects such as vases, pencils, or books. In large groups, you can team up to move larger objects such as pianos or refrigerators.
6) None of your hauntings can result in fatalities to other players, nor can they reveal the identity of the killer.
7) Unfortunately, the dead can not solve the crime- but never fear, as long as you're posting and enjoying yourselves you're still able to win all the same prizes as everyone else.

○Joining and Choosing Location○
To join, simply wait for the thread title to state that we're open heart Post that you'd like to join in or shoot me a PM and I'll get your name added to the participation list for the next round.
For locations, we like to have interesting settings for our games! Feel free to suggest locations in which the next game could take place. We're always happy to have input, and just because your good suggestion isn't picked now doesn't mean it can't be used later ;3 We GM's may put our own locations in from time to time as well.
♦ ♣ ♥ ♠
○Prizes○
Small participation prizes will be awarded based on merit. This has nothing to do with solving the mystery, necessarily. Because solving is a group effort, blurting out the name first means nothing.
Instead, prizes are awarded to who the GM's feel contributes to the game in some special way. Was there a particularly funny line uttered? Something unusually clever that you noticed? Was there a massive disaster of some sort that people were laughing about for days on end?
These are the sorts of things we reward. Things that make people enjoy themselves while they're here ;3 So, go nuts. Enjoy. Everyone, killer and ghosts included, are eligible to win!
Also, no- the prizes are nothing extravagant. Just little tokens of gratitude that we'll send out at the end of the round.
