So, I'm heading back to college (again) this coming Fall for my Bachelor's. Got my Associate's in May and a bartending certificate last week...I'm excited, but at the same time, nervous.
First day of school jitters anyone?

I had my first day of college yesterday, my second today. I missed one of my classes and could very well not be in it anymore. Which is bad because it's a math class. I may not know what I want to do, but Math is required for almost anything.

Been a long time since I was in school and I'm not likely to go back any time soon. (See my sig for my reason.) I just want to wish both of you a good year. I hope you have some fun to go along with the work.

@Strifer: Oh, noez...why would you not be in it anymore? IF ya need it, go! Seriosuly, though, might as well get it over and done with.
@Silver: I knoez!!! Sooo cute!!! Congrats, btw! ANd thanks a bunch for the wish.
I'm actually planning on having a busy couple of years while I'm finishing up for teh Bachelor's such as joining a sorority and hopefully, quitting the job I have now, soon, preferably.

Math classes and English classes are being raided by wait listed people. Theres been like ten extra people waiting outside of every math class or English class I have seen. A lot of people got kicked out for missing the first day. I showed up to math today, and it doesn't seem like I was dropped.

At least you still got the class. ^_^ But, what school do you go to? I thought classes weren't allowed to have a waitlist (at least, the schools I've gone to and schools people I know go to) and these schools are very adamant about closing a class with whatever limit there is.

@Strifer: What a weird way to conduct class availability *scratches head* But I suppose, whatever works, huh?
@BrokenBecky: How's school so far?
As for me, I started school yesterday, 09/02/10, at Kean University for meh Bachelor's whee I was a nervous wreck ALL DAY! Seriously, people kept having to tell me to relax and whatnot. I finally settled down enough after I sat down HALF AN HOUR early for my first class. My professors are awesome, even though I've only met two of them so far, but I think this is gonna be an awesome semester.
I would also like to mention that I love the building where most of my classes are located because there is a food stand on, get this, EVERY FLOOR and there are 4 floors in this building. I kid you not, no siree sir. Seriously. And the coffee of preference? Starbucks. Yup...

I dunno if its weird or not. Are you not allowed to crash classes at your college?
I like all of my classes except for my math class, and the one hasn't started yet. I only have one or two classes on most days. My busiest day has three classes.

@Strifer: Umm...no, not really. I mean, people come in and then realize it isn't the class they're suppose to be in, but umm...no, people don't crash classes at both schools I've been to. If a class is full, it's full. If your name is on the list, it's on the list. If not, it's kind of a tough s**t situation. Even so, if a class is full and a student wants the class, they'll have to have permission from both the Dean of the college AND the department and a student would need letters approving the actions given in and handed to the professor. *shrug*
@darksangel34: Meh, is kewl and completely understandable.

That sounds like it sucks. People just crash on the first day, then at the end of the first day the professors see who showed up and who didn't. Then depending on the waiting list the people who showed up get the class.

Blargh! School hasn't even been in session for a month and I'm already behind. Lameness. :/
@Strifer: Meh, not really. The system works. 'sides, in big campuses/college/universities, people don't really need to wait because class size is up to at least a 100 (this class is held in 'auditorium', so to speak). Take for example Rutgers University (that's where my BFF go). I stopped by to meet her a couple of times and meet up with her at a couple of her classes and this lecture hall is huge and the class is helped by TA's. The schools I've gone/I go to only has a limit of at least 35 students per class.
I'd also like to point out that all student know which class to take based on their majors and if a class can't be taken, the waiting list would have to be FOR the NEXT semester and when a block on a person's curriculum is lifted by a faculty advisor. Yea, it's a whole lot of tripwires over here. ^_^

Ah. Well I'm at community college. I'm not sure how many people actually know their major.
