LONG AGO, IN A DISTANT LAND
Concept, lol.
LONG AGO, IN A DISTANT LAND, where the rising sun shone red and the wind howled through the canyons!
The Garo lived in peace, happily grazing in the Garo meadows.
But one day! AKU came. A great and dark evil, with the powers to shapeshift, immune to all weapons!
So the garo were forced to put aside their happy days of stabbing cows in the necks and painting happy faces on their corpses, and go to WAR. But Aku could not be defeated, and many perished!
And so the leader of the garo people prayed for many days and nights and communed with the goddesses! With their help, he forged a blade like NO OTHER! Because it was a tool of the gods, charged with divine power, it was capable of harming aku!
But the time spent preparing and speaking with the Goddesses left the man weak, and the harms Aku caused were too great to be ignored any longer!
His son, a young warrior known only as "Jack," volunteered to carry the sword into battle and defeat Aku!
And so he charged into battle at the head of a great army! it was his FINEST MOMENT! And the moment came, the moment of truth! The fight with AKU!
And so Jack struck out, and the blade RIPPED THROUGH Aku!
The battle's victor was obvious!
As Aku lay on the ground, tattered and beaten, he prepared for his fate!
And as the final blow was about to be struck, Aku threw ALL OF HIS EVIL at the samurai in front of him!
There was a bright flash, and a portal of swirling black OPENED and sucked them both in!
When the two awoke, they were in a NEW LAND, far from their home of Garo meadows and happy grazing!
Jack was unharmed, though his blade had lost much of its power from the terrific battle! It was forged of godly steel and retained its craftsmanship and sharpness, but was but a simple blade again!
Aku, on the other hand... Aku had not been slain. By way of his evil power, he had survived, and marred the blade of the warrior Jack!
However, he had been changed. His form was small and weak! That of an esper! His physical strength was gone, but his dark magic remained!
This was nothing to be pleased over! In this foreign and unknown land, he could muscle nowhere! His intimidating stature was gone!
So he made a decision! He made a PACT with Jack! A deal, of sorts! They would assist each other! They would find a way to return to their home! Aku would give his power to Jack when the opportunity arose, and Jack would protect Aku!
What was to happen after was NOT assured, however!
And so began the journey of Jack and Aku!

Personality:
There's something about Jack, something that blazes in his calm eyes and rumbles with his steady gait. Imbued in his heart and in his soul is a deep love a peace and an insatiable thirst for justice and righteousness, as well as a vigorous drive to see these concepts come to pass. He is not just an enforcer, but a champion of the downtrodden, the weak, and the helpless. No greater joy comes to him than when his actions bring about a positive result, and nothing ails him more than to see the defenseless suffer. He is a man of extremes and passions, given to quick decisions and decisive actions, a tightly-wound mind belied by a calm countenance and general serenity. It is this mastery of his emotions, tapping into rage and clarity as the situation calls, that provides his skill in swordsmanship and also his ability to carry out his creed of righteousness.
Though his virtues are many, it is impossible to say he is without flaws. Though his reactions are quick and his arms powerful, his mind is simple and fundamental, almost to a fault. He is very capable of misjudging situations, as he often does when the lines between good and evil are blurred, and this can result in unfavorable outcomes. His search to find a method allowing his return to his home is a dogged one, and it can lead him to being deceived. His selflessness is easy to exploit, and he will often get bogged down on his journey to perform one task by several others. He only seeks what is right, but his pursuit of it often results in problems.
