Okay. Orientation had been a less-than-decent experience that Shehk had decided she never wanted to live through ever again. It was one of those long experiences. Like being stuck in a DMV to get a driver's license renewed where you were there for hooouuurrrrssssss. Not utterly horrible, but boring. Boring lead to people doing the most stupid of things.

Like the monster-boy who had been sitting next to her during it and kept just smelling like milk that had been marinating a dead body in it with both of them rotting for about three months. That had prompted her to hang a tree-freshener off of the edge of his seat and spray the air in front of her nose (and part of the hair of the student in front of her, oops) to try and mask it.

It hadn't worked as well as she would have liked.

Either way, when it seemed everybody was allowed to be free from the meeting, Shehk had been inclined to get out the doors and away from what seemed like a hundred smelling bodies to maybe find some fresh air.

Unfortunately, getting pulled along with a crowd had this way of happening whether you wanted to be going along with the crowd or not, ultimately leaving the pricolici far from where she'd been trying to escape to;

"Dammit." she grumbled, folding her arms as she stared down the hallway of dorm ro-

fjasl;kdfadsf

AUGH, SOMETHING SMELLED LIKE DEATH AND FAIL AND ;dfasldjf;lsfk HERNOSE.

If Shehk was of any strong opinion, it was that the monster-dorms had this way of smelling the worse; well, worse next to the rotting-corpses near her -own- room (but Strawmelonoceantree saved all noses).

So with her hands clamped over her nose (and her senses a good 80% dulled from the lack of it's use), it was time for her to try and navigate; maybe she should have kept the map of the campus she'd been provided.

At this point in time, Nuk also was attempting to navigate the hallways that was Amityville Academy, although it seemed with a lot more success than the pricolici. The skinwalker was a lot less ... well... nice about the way he got around the school, and in situations like this his quick temper was easily lit, glowing gold eyes flashing at each random bump of a student against him. Of course, this was followed closely by a rough shove on his part, twisting with surprisingly agility within the crowd to grip the shirt of some poor sap with both clawed hands, knocking them into the students next to them in an almost amusing display of dominoes before continuing on his way. It was a very rare occasion that any challenged him on it -- a sharp-toothed snarl was usually all it took, especially with the smaller students. And the smarter students, to be perfectly honest -- it wasn't a good idea to fight while the professors were likely still around. And besides that, the skinwalker had an almost eager look in his eyes half the time, like he wanted to fight. Which he did. Which usually meant only the larger bullies (like Grier, although it happened much less now that they had become friends) that really decided to try to pummel him into the ground.

Luckily enough, on this particular day most of the bullies must have been off bullying other students, because Nuk made it back to the monster dorms without a full-blown fight. (He had mixed feelings about this -- on one hand, no one had challenged him. On the other, he hadn't gotten to put some twerp in their place.) It was relatively empty now, probably because of the howling contest that had been taken outside, the monsters keen to watch the younger werewolves try to match Professor Red's howl (they likely never would, damn that girl was good.) Swinging the bear-claw charm back and forth in his hand, the skinwalker gave the surrounding hallway a bored once-over before turning a corner, meandering with no real purpose back towards his dorm. If only there was something interesting going on...

And that's when he saw her. Long legs, fair skin, beautiful silver ears and tail that gave off the prettiest glow in the dull light of the monster hallway...

Well hellooooo nurse~

He would have wolf-whistled, but that might have been too cliche, even for him.

Sidling up behind her, the skinwalker grinned, slipping around so that he blocked her from going any more forward, bending over a bit so his eyes were level with hers. And of course, that's when he noticed the smell. His sense of smell wasn't as good as her was, for sure -- in his human form it was only his eyes that were slightly better than average -- but there was no denying that there was certainly something a little... off. So naturally, that's what he said first. Not "What has 100 feet and holds back a monster? My zipper" or "My name's Nuk, but you can call me anytime" but...

"You smell weird."

Certainly one would have expected that some sort of alarm would have gone off when the blocking-off-from-going-anywhere happened, but it happened just well-timed enough that her dulled senses really were an enabler; honestly, it was hard to navigate away from a situation when you couldn't even sense it coming.

Oh goodie. The first thing she noted was-.. okay yeah, glowing eyes were cool (she would have tried to out-glow him if she'd been on four-paws right then. Then again, she may have also been stepped on and/or attemptively ridden around like a small pony), but there was one thing nobody could escape unless they had just super-cleaned their mouth out 2 seconds previously; bad breath. Unfortunately, it wasn't exactly 'normal' for anything that Shehk went to school with to have good dental hygiene.

Even -hers- was atrocious. She'd never admit that though.

"You don't smell much better." she answered stiffly, crinkling her nose behind her hand and immediately seeking out her bag... which she didn't have.

AUGH!! Skeleton-Jack-in-a-pumpkin-pie! Her kingdom for some Lysol! Or gum, or SOMETHING. Alas, it had been too long since she'd last actually stocked up on such stuff (damn, how would she compensate for the time being?).

"In other news, you're standing in my way." she added firmly, using her sadly-not-reaching-into-a-bag-hand to reach out and attemptively shove the skinwalker out of her way.

Give or take he was bigger than her... and probably had more bulk to toss around than she did. So most likely horribly ineffective and just leading to more trouble.
PostPosted: Sat Aug 28, 2010 6:46 pm

Nuk's smirk broadened as her eyes lifted to meet his, completely misreading her mostly-hidden expression as interest. Then again, even if she hadn't been holding her nose and instead had been glaring at him in hostility and shouting death threats, he likely wouldn't have thought any different. It was only when she said he didn't smell much better that the skinwalker paused, blinking slowly before reaching down to grab a handful of his shirt, lifting it to his nose, giving it a good, long sniff. Death... blood... nothing unusual, she had to be mistaken. He repeated the process with his pelt, tilting his head to one side to give it a sniff, making a confused face.

While he was busy checking to see if he actually did smell off, she was reaching for the fabreeze she hadn't brought with her, causing him to miss the obviously-disgruntled face she was giving him. It wasn't until he felt her try to shove him that he turned his attention back towards her, the hand on his chest prompting him to drop his eyes, glancing at it for a second before lifting them again, amused. Oh. Feisty. Unfortunately for Shehk, it was pretty much the opposite of the deterrent she was going for. In fact, when they thought back on it weeks or months or years later, they'd probably identify that moment as the moment Nuk got it in his head that this girl, this wolf-shifter, was definitely his type.

And that he was not ever going to leave her alone.

"Well, that was kind of what I was trying to do. What's the rush?" He replied, a devilish grin plastered on his face, not bothering to try to remove the hand from his chest. Instead, he leaned into it, moving closer, his body shifting with a type of animalistic swagger. "You have a name, or should I just start calling you angel?"

It didn't really occur to Nuk that this was the type of thing that warranted a harsh slap.

...... Oh sludgesticks. Really? REALLY? Part of her wanted to tap on his skull to check to see if it was made out of concrete, crinkling her nose again, though more in distaste at his behavior than any actual smell. Though her nose was starting to get REALLY angry at her for looming too long. There was no way she could really speed up the situation for it however, so she had to just make a point to breathe through her mouth.

However long that would last.

Yeah, this guy was so not her type. INTEREST IN NUK, SHE HAD NONE, other than the fact he had pretty much glued herself to her about-face. There was a moment were she seemed to carefully consider whether or not retracting her hand away from his chest would be a safe move or if it would cause him to just go "fjaslf' and fall towards her from the slight-leaning. It was ever so curious.

"The 'rush' is that this is not where I want to be." she answered stiffly, carefully retracting her hand (though fully ready to brace herself protectively with it if needed) away from him, waiting a moment before planting it on her hip.

...
.....

"If you start calling me 'angel' I may just eat your innards." And then get very sick. But it was definitely how she felt about that ever so SPECIAL nickname. "And frankly, if I tell you my name you may stalk my building to find me."

There was a moment in which she considered this and seemed to hide a retching, apparently weighing her options;

'being called angel' v 'him having something else to call her'... it really was a tough decision.

"I guess if you can find me that's your perogative though." she finally decided, apparently deciding he wasn't actually going to be looking in the UNDEAD dorms for her... "And I'd much rather be 'Shehk' than 'Angel.."

With that, she again made a point of trying to side-step him. Successful? Possibly not..

If Nuk had any inkling that Shehk had already decided she so wasn't into him, he didn't show it. In fact, he seemed to be thinking quite the opposite, one eyebrow quirked, a debonair grin curling over his sharp, predatory teeth. He also didn't seem to notice her predicament of whether or not she should remove her hand and whether or not he would fall over on her if she did, although if he HAD realized, he probably would have scoffed. He would never do something so geeky, psh. Besides, he was, like, part animal -- he had the reflexes of a jagwolfcheetiger. However, he didn't, so the skinwalker barely noticed as the object of his interest removed her hand from his chest (although he DID take note that she put it on her hip.)

Raising the other brow, Nuk tilted his head a bit at her threat, folding his arms across his chest in an unperturbed fashion, his smirk fading not a bit. She really was cute... especially with that annoyed look on her face. Definitely the way her nose scrunched up like that (probably from the smell, although he didn't know that) and her eyes seemed to glow this amazing silver color as she snapped at him. That was it, he'd have to ask her out. Maybe he could get Grier and Naja to double date...

Wait, had she been talking?

Blinking once, the skinwalker's eyebrows furrowed a bit, picking back up on the conversation just as she uttered the words 'And I'd much rather be 'Shehk'' (and conveniently leaving out the 'than Angel' part,) an obviously pleased look plastered across his face. He was so pleased, in fact, that the side-step was (moderately) successful, the pricolici managing to get past him and (assumably) attempt to escape down the hall. Of course, this merely prompted him to turn and follow her, walking in stride next to her, thumbs hooked in his soft hide pants. "Shehk huh?" He repeated, seeming to think about it as it rolled off his tongue, "Like... I'm 'Shehk'ing you out?"

....
...............

For a brief moment, Shehk had been enjoying her RUN FOR FREEDOM from the skinwalker, until it seemed she wasn't actually escaping him as she made her way OUT of the monster dorms and out onto the front walkway between buildings (WTF, how had she even gotten there in the first place? Her navigational skills were lacking, obviously), seeming to perk immediately in the fresh air.

OH SWEET PUMPKINJUICE. HAPPY HAPPY DAY. SHE COULD BREATHE. Even if the air was sort of putrid in it's own special way; it was a special way she could handle! Unlike the death-and-blood-and-haven't-showered-in-a-month she was getting from ...whateverhisnamewas. She couldn't recall him mentioning it.

And she wasn't sure she wanted to care.

However, she couldn't help but have this special moment where her ears flattened everrrrr so slowly and her tail pricked up, the end starting to prickle apart.

Oh he had not just done that!!

"No not like that!!! It's just SHEHK! S. H. E. H. K. Do not butcher my name again or I'll..." she paused, trying to think of a suitable angry-punctuation to this, one canine (which was rather impressive, considering it fit into her mouth 97% of the time) poking out and into her lower lip as she thought about it, licking over it once before she started flailing again.

How dramatic.

"Just.. Shehk. Please."

Wow, she'd ultimately decided against threats of maiming?

"I'd rather not get indigestion from the alternative."

Ah, there it was.
PostPosted: Sat Sep 04, 2010 3:34 pm

Nuk paused for a second as Shehk exploded, hooking his fingers in his waistband and tilting his head a little, his expression curious. For once he actually seemed respectful, listening to her quietly as she berated him, gold eyes (remarkably) staying on hers and not on the lovely fitted blouse she was wearing that he thought complimented her quite well. Or maybe he was just checking her out, or thinking of something to say -- it was extremely hard to tell. The latter two was more likely anyway.

He did agree though, she was very dramatic.

The skinwalker paused for a few more minutes after she was done, purposely making the resulting silence a little awkward as they continued, his eyes flicking down to the canine tooth biting her lip before flicking back up to her face, smirking in amusement. "You're cute when you're mad," he finally replied, his smirk turning toothy, as if he already knew what he was getting into, saying that. Which he didn't, actually. Yeah, his skull was that thick. Continuing without really letting her respond, "Alright, Shehk," he said this with a slight inflection on her name, turning towards her to walk backwards in front of her and giving him his best debonair grin, "How about I walk you to your dorm, and you can tell me what a positively scarily hot creature such as yourself is doing in a place like this?"

Oh please, she wasn't that dramatic! (Actually, she was, but from her point of view she wasnt. Y'know, bias and all. Illogical thoughts and a lack of perspective. They both had a problem with that last one though) However, the awkward silence that followed her snapping actually was a LOT more awkward than Shehk would have liked, her ears pricking up attentively.... and then drooping... and then flattening back as she frown more and more, even at one point scratching at the stitching on her forehead, as though the twitching would make it STOP BEING QUIET.

Silence was only good when it was the right situation, afterall.

However, it seemed that the boy finally started talking, Shehk folding her arms across her chest as he did, grimacing slightly at the first statement he felt inclined to make. Really? All he gleaned from that was that she was cute when angry? (Who wanted to be cute over the age of 11? She didn't!)

One of her ears twitched at the influx in his voice when he said her name this time, her face twitching ever so subtly.

"...." smelly-boy near her room, it'd linger for days, and this thought really didn't bring a lot of 'cheer' to her expression, yet somehow she had this feeling...

"You're just giving me a choice in the matter to be polite, aren't you?" she asked, half-frowning, before shrugging ever so slightly. Well, frankly it'd be less annoying if he didn't just follow her like some poor lost puppy all the way home..

well, fake!home. Or something like that.

"Only to the door of the building." she finally relented with a slight flourish of one hand. She didn't want to have to explain why someone she didn't know the name of had followed her to her room. Not that she had to answer to anybody for it.

But eh, it was a nice enough day for a walk, she figured.
PostPosted: Sat Sep 11, 2010 7:07 pm

"We'll go with polite, yeah."

Nuk's grin broadened visibly as she relented, obviously pleased with the little victory. For that is exactly what it was -- a victory on his part. She had been denying him from the start (obviously playing hard to get,) but now he was breaking her down, slowly but surely. Sure, she hadn't said he'd let her walk her all the way to her room, but he was willing to be patient. It was all about tiny steps, and he knew she's give in eventually to his charms. Sadly, the phrase 'you give an inch, they take a mile' described the skinwalker perfectly, and what Shehk didn't know was that this gave him 'permission' to find her dorm room on his own time. Even if that meant knocking on all the doors.

Which pretty much was his plan.

Leaning over a bit so he was eye-level with her (and likely far too close for her comfort, he flicked his eyes up at her ears for a second before lowering them to hers again, flashing her a smug, toothy grin. "Did you know your ears twitch a little when you're mad, too? I like it," he replied, seemingly disregarding that she said only to the dorm building. Selective hearing indeed. "And you didn't answer my question. What's a ghoul like you doing in this hell hole anyway? I thought this place was only for losers who need to learn how to be scary. Which you clearly do not need."

The path was starting to wind a little, twisting in lazy snake-patterns through the dead grass towards the undead dorm, the building still a ways off at this point. Around them, only a few other students seemed to be meandering around the campus, a few lounging under the barren trees, enjoying the overcast weather. The others likely had already returned to their dorms after the assembly, probably to get one last hurrah before the school year started again. Sniffing the air a bit (although his sense of smell was severely lacking, especially in comparison to his conversationalist's) Nuk straightened again, glancing over his shoulder at the dorm house before back at Shehk, turning to walk next to her. Walking backwards was such a pain.

"You're undead?"

A small victory was all she was going to ALLOW it to be (and when he ended up finally figuring out where her room was, she was going to open the door one day and kick him in the face!!), though one of her ears did that little twitch he'd just pointed out WHEN Nuk pointed it out, frowning at him.

"Clearly I haven't yet. I still have much to learn if I'm going to truly frighten the fleshies." she finally answered, shrugging a bit. It was a true statement, truer even for herself.

While walking, Shehk seemed to be a little envious of the people who were just lounging and enjoying the day, almost tempted to run out and roll in the grass, having entertained this thought for a moment before the skinwalker spoke up again, having not even realized they'd gotten to her building... oh yeah...

"... Well yeah.. what did you think I was?" she asked, but it seemed the moment she asked something else passed through her head, her pupils dilating and her ears perking up, looking around like she was trying to find something. It was almost like when a cat had spotted a laser.

Shehk's nose was going crazy, and now she had to go find whatever it was that had smelt good to her. SMELL GOODS?

SMELL GOODS OVER THERE?

YES.

SHE WOULD CHECK OVER THERE.

Nuk's grin wavered a bit as she blew off his flattery, rolling his eyes dramatically and making a face at her, weaving his fingers together behind his head. "Ahhh c'mon, it was a compliment. You're terrifying, I swear. And gorgeous. Did I mention you're gorgeous? I could just eat you up," he replied, his smirk returning only after he had finished, gold eyes gleaming deviously. Oh teenage boys. The skinwalker's eyes wavered a bit, glancing down at what he would fully endorse as amazingly long legs before flicking back up to her expression just as she replied to his rather dumb undead comment, his toothy grin once again in place.

"I'm going to go with gorgeous again," came his cheeky reply, apparently oblivious to the fact that this was a comment that in all actuality should have warranted a slap. (He never seemed to understand why it happened either, although seeming completely surprised at the reaction.) As it was, however, Shehk seemed completely preoccupied. Nuk tilted his head a little curiously as her eyes visibly dilated, watching her ears swivel to the front, as if on high alert. Well... this was interesting. The skinwalker made no motion to disrupt whatever it was activating making her 'pricolici senses tingle,' merely watching with interest, his own eyes following her every movement with a thoughtful look. They'd paused at this point, no longer heading towards the undead building, which was perfectly fine by him -- it was in his best interest, then, that she was distracted. Still, curiosity killed the cat, and after watching her for a few more moments he moved to stand behind her and to her right a little, as if this would put him more in tune with what she was seeing/smelling/hearing/whatever.

"... what're you doing?" He half whispered in a bewildered, skeptical tone, not wanting to break her concentration.

"Something... smells really good.." Shehk answered after a moment's pause in which her 'Pricolici senses' indeed did tingle, sniffing the air with a sort of bloodhound esque earnest-y, before she took a few steps into the grass outside of the dorm and seemed to start doing this sort of.. tracking thing. Sniff sniff sni...SNIFFSNIFFSNIFFSNIFF???

Every now and then it seemed she'd get all excited about something, before, not too far off of the trail she'd started on, she saw it, acting all innocent in the distance and like it wasn't secretly plotting to ruin the world while it went about making some sort of perma-stash of nuts (really, when it was always autumn, they were always stashing food, those squirrels), seeming to tunnel vision onto it.

Oooh. OOOOH!!

"Iwantit." she almost seemed to 'chirp' it, tail twitching and getting all antsy. Ooookay. Go get it? No? She almost seemed to be working herself up, like she was unable to realize that YES SHEHK, THE SQUIRREL IS LIKE, FIVE FEET FROM YOU. GO GET IT. Instead, she seemed to circle the same spot, let out this almost nasal whine, before, of all odd things, 'paw'ing at Nuk, all while repeating that same thing.

"IwantitIwantitIwantit!!!!"

The squirrel seemed to have, at least, taken note of her behavior and looked about ready to bolt. Okay Shehk..gooo get it instead of prancing about and pining for it!
PostPosted: Sat Sep 11, 2010 9:35 pm

The skinwalker lifted his eyebrows, still looking a little skeptical, although he lifted his nose and took a sniff regardless, just in case. Hey, maybe there was something he was just completely missing. It wouldn't be the first time -- he might be guilty of being slightly oblivious. Or maybe the better word was self-centered. Either way, Nuk shrugged a little, tilting his head up a little and wrinkled his nose as he gave the air a few good sniffs, his eyes meandering back and forth as he thought about what he smelled. A lot of nothing, unsurprisingly, at least compared to what Shehk was smelling, which only seemed to make his expression more skeptical, one eyebrow falling so the other was quirked. In all honesty, he had no idea what she was talking about. Adding the fact that she had held her nose before, and he was starting to think a zombie might have made a light snack of her brain. Still, he humored her, obviously unbothered by her little quirks, if not completely confused.

Folding his arms across his chest, he watched as Shehk continued to sniff the air excitedly, following her patiently as she meandered off the beaten path and onto the dead grass and stopping whenever she did. After a moment he looked up, looking at the sky and then watching a bat flap by overhead, his attention returning at her fevered 'Iwantit.' Hm? Gold eyes focused back on her, following her movements as she circled, cocking his head at the whine and his eyebrows lifted high again as she turned around to paw at him, dropping his arms and turning his hands palm-up to hold her elbows as she did so, still very bewildered but now completely interested. "What?" he replied like an idiot, staring at her as if he would derive the answer that way before looking up, his expression suddenly scary-attentive, scanning the surrounding area.

Because she would get it, make no mistake about that. What was mildly curious before had turned into something that could help him. Something she reaaaally wanted would be very helpful to him. Even as a lack of book-smarts, he knew THAT.

Somehow she'd gotten his attention back despite her frenzy (even if it wasn't that hard to garner in the first place), which just earned more of the pawing before she went back into being CRAZY. But that's what happened when someone had a supernose. Silly canine!

"IT" she repeated with more fervency, looking from him (literally him, she was staring him down, right in the eyes) then to the squirrel that was trying to go about it's business, staring at her for a moment when she looked over..... and Shehk stared back, ears standing more alert than ever, her tail perking up as well and even starting to wag just a little bit.

And it looked at her... and she stared back at it. It was like a staring contest and the longer it went on, the more her tail started to wag.

However, the moment that tail went into overdrive, it had bolted across the grass, Shehk hesitating for a moment, even seeming to panic at what to do... before she suddenly bolted after it.

"COME BAAACCCCK, I WANT TO EATTT YOOOOOUUUUU!!!!!!" she shrieked after it. Alas, her two legs weren't as quick as the squirrel was. It was going to be a sad day for Shehk, no matter how fast she ran after the dumb thing! IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HER EPIC SNACK DAMMIT!

Had she considered reverting from this silly two-legged form?

Not yet she hadn't!
