First things first, I don't exactly intend to offend ant relgious people here and I am well aware that not all of you are like this but then again, if you are religious and don't like people talking the way I am going to, then you shouldn't have come to this topic in the first place.
So well I hate the way religious people push their religious beleives on to their children. It starts when they are babies and get baptised and all that junk and then, as they grow older the parents will continue to talk about what they consider wrong and right and try to push the rules of their religion on to their kids who obviously aren't very awake of how broad and complicated religion really is and most of the time they'll just go with it.
And then when they are teenagers and they kind of start to think about things, what they believe in, what they think is right and wrong and basically start to develope their own identity and give religion a little more thought and come to the conclusion that they don't beleive that God exists and well, basically become atheists and their parents find out they'll start making a really big deal out of it, like my own mum, it gets really frustrating, not a single day goes by without her rambling about her precious God who I don't give a damn about and attempting to make me change my mind about religion. She doesn't even approve of the way I dress or the way I have my hair but I just do it anyway with hopes that she'll see that no matter how high she'll jump or how hard she'll try she's never gonna make me change.
Thanks for reading all of this and hopefully you're not going to flame me for this. (Though, I'd see it coming.) Just blowing off some steam.

People need something to believe in. That, and it's also very easy to manipulate the human mind.
I hate Christianity because they think they are "all that" and they know it all, so they must force it upon others. Although, this is a truth recognized in all religions. Even Atheists do it too.
But, I feel for you. My household has become a religious battlefield too. It's Atheism vs. Christianity vs. Catholicism.

I completely agree. Exactly what you said is what happened to me, I think even when I was little I was just playing along... never really thinking about if I myself really do beleive that there is a God. I can't tell anyone in my family I'm an athiest or I'll never hear the end of it (I know for a fact my own grandmothers would never look at me the same). I'm the only athiest. My whole mom's side is Christian and my dad's is Catholic and both sides are way too religious.
Don't blame you for blowing off steam, even writing this makes me feel a bit better xd

But that's not what bothers me, they can believe whatever they want but the things that just ticks me off is the way they attempt to push their believes on to their children.

My mother is a through-and-through Jehovah's Witness, and I was rised under that religion but never forced into it. They would explain and talk about their beliefs, and I just agreed, I guess... There was nothing deep to it. I never knew and I still don't know if I believe in a God, but when I was about 13-14 years old I started taking my distance from the Jehovah's Witnesses. I respect them, it's a solid, honest and sensible religion, but I just think differently about how I should live my life. It's really funny, because my father is an atheist and I'm a bit of an agnostic with spiritual beliefs, so when the 3 of us get together for a meal or something, we often talk and discuss about our beliefs, which are so different. We have long and interesting talks about religion, UFOs, mythology and the like, but we can never convince each other, though lol The problem with some religions is that they are too closed and seem to like forcing ideas on people...

I sort of dislike that they "try" to force people to their own religious believe, shouldn't we get a choice in what we get to believe in... We don't really have the power to change people or their mind..... My whole family is really really religious while you can say I'm normal *cough cough* not freaking religious like my family but all well. =w= They really hated the way I dress, my hairstyle, the music I listen to & my personalilty. (Shocking a bit >.>) After many years they finally accepted me for who I was. (They got tired of "trying" to change me so much...)

I don't like religion that much either. Especially Christianity. Some Christians terrified me when I was little, telling me that I'm going to burn in hell even though they didn't know me and the time I was normal looking. That scared me out of religion even though my family's religion is catholic but I'm agnostic now. I think religion causes a lot of trouble but heck let the people believe what they wanna believe. But I start bashing religion once it's forced on me. Can't help it,they started it. gonk
