The sidewalks in Durem were generally considered to be for strolling along as one went or returned from shopping, and the benches were generally used for seating and waiting for rides or resting one's self and bags. Today, however, one particular section of sidewalk and the bench behind it, were a home for a wild and exotic performance art.
Roshan, being the free and lively spirit he was, had set up a large battery powered cd player on the bench right next to a hat with a little sign that said tips in curvy writing. He'd been a bit short on pocket money to get some bracelets he wanted, a lovely set with a matching necklace and earrings he'd seen in a store. So, rather than asking his mothers for money, the boy had decided to be inventive and had set up the radio and was now belly dancing to the songs on the cd. The exotic dances of the east were odd and from a young boy with strange features, they were even odder - but still so fascinating to watch! That was probably why he already had a pretty good bit in his hat (which he frequently emptied and put in his pocket so as not to get robbed whiel he was distracted). Definitely an interesting way to spend a summer day.

Several people turned their heads, arching their eyebrows at the purple blur that rounded the corner. Some laughed, others just shook their heads and continued on their way. This sidewalk, apparently, was a magnet for oddities.
The new addition to it's collection of oddities was busy running down the sidewalk, bag-laden arms outstretched as the girl made airplane noises. If she noticed some of the glances and snickers she earned, she made no outward acknowledgments. She was having fun pretending to be an airplane! It was little things like this that kept the task of running errands from being mundane. Today, she was pretending to be a cargo plane and she- hey, music!
Jaella let out a squeal of delight as she heard the sounds of music nearby. She made her way towards the sound, a grin plastering itself across her face as she saw a familiar face dancing and swaying to the music. "Hey Roshan!" she chirped, sitting her grocery bags on the ground by her feet. "Whatcha up to?"

The boy turned his head slowly, hips still lightly moving to the beat of the music of their own accord. He smiled brightly, "Oh! Hello Miss Jaella!" he greeted, voice having gotten a teeny bit more smooth and musical with his first growth - the next one would probably end him up sounding like a latin lover or something! Silly boy!
"I'm just dancing for tips. Wanna join?" always free and welcoming company, Roshan didn't mind inviting the other to come join in his fun. Besides, he'd known Jaella since he was young and always thought of the older girl as a friend - she was fun, and nice and had ears and a tail like he did.

Jaella giggled. "You don't have to call me Miss," she said, her voice laced with laughter and mirth. Then again, her voice was always happy and joyed filled; that was nothing new. "Congratulations on growing! You're almost as big as me now." The girl broke off, giggling again. Oh, she was so happy for her friend, getting to grow so big!
She let out a little delighted laugh, clapping her hands together. "I'd love to!" she chirped, moving her bags off to the side. She paused, before reaching into the bag and plopping one of it's contents into the boy's hat. "There!" she announced, grinning at the Choco-Carmamel Fizzigig Bar that now sat snugly in the hat. "A snack for you for later. Now we can dance?"
Did she know how to dance? No. Was that going to stop her? Definitely not.

The boy laughed, his tail flicking all around and ears wiggling impishly as he did. "Ooh goody! I didn't think I'd get to buy any candy today! Now I have some! Thank's Jae!" he clapped as he said this, making his bracelets and baubles jingle. Jewelry freak, naw.
Darting over, Roshan took the girl's bags to put under his bench before grabbing her hands and dragging her to the center of the concrete. "This is a pretty song! You've just gotta move your hips from side to side and bounce your head! Just like this." he demonstrated the simple movements, much more flowy on him from practice, but still easy enough. And hey, there was no wrong way to do it - okay yes there was, but he didn't care.

"No prob!" the teen replied, grinning. Baby blue eyes widened a bit as she heard the boy's jewelry cling together. "Pretty!" she exclaimed, loving the jingly sound. It was just so jingly and chimey!
Jaella watched Roshan a moment, taking not of the the movements. That didn't look too hard at all! She closed her eyes, listening to the moment before she started dancing. The moves were a bit awkward and new for her, but hey, she was having fun. And that's all that mattered, right? Adding her own little twist, she started clapping to the music, her chunky plastic bangles rattling together to the beat of the music. This was totally, amazingly awesome!

Roshan grinned, "there, you're getting it now!" he agreed, "see? It's easy." the purple haired boy laughed, his tail wiggling and flicking as he joined her in the claps before reaching out to take Jaella's arm and lightly spin around with her a few times - leaning back some as he did - before going back to the normal rhythm.
"You both lean back on the spins so you keep each other up." he explained, showing her another move where he put one hand down by his belly and one up in the air and moved his hips as he snapped a few times.

Jaella giggled, her tail wagging happily. "This is uber-fantastically fun!" she laughed out, giving a little spin of her own. She took note of what he said; she'd remember to do that the next time they did the fun spinny thing! "What's this song?" she asked, looking at him with a curious tilt of her head.

The boy looked over at his player before shrugging. "Dunno, check what track title it says is up and we can look at the cd afterwards." he assured her. This was just a compilation of songs like this, after all so he didn't have them all memorized.
After a while, it came time to sit down and take a break, Roshan pausing the cd and flopping down on the bench to nibble his treat. "So what were you up to today, Jae? Just getting groceries?"

Jaella smiled, nodding. Though, by the time they'd stopped, the track number was long forgotten. She didn't seem to mind, though. The teen sat down, reaching into her plastic store bags as she fished for a snack. "Yeah, just grocery shopping." she chirped, grinning. "I have some letters to deliver when I get home, though."
The purple haired teen sat back up, her prize in her hand: a box of Twinkies. She ripped the box open with all the finesse of a child on Christmas Morning. "Want one?" she asked, grinning as she held one of the yellow, spongey treats out to him.

"Sure!" Roshan agreed, taking the spongy treat to nibble as he relaxed on the bench. "What sort of letters? Like the kind to give kids to people or just talking to friends?" He was curious, after all. And no reason not to ask her, right? What did Roshan have against them giving kids to strangers? Hey, it was how he got his parents, right?

"The kid-giving good-newsy type!" Jaella chirped, tearing open the yellow sponge of a cake from its cellophane wrapper and all but inhaling it. "It's a big pile of letters for me to deliver. I'll be all over the place!" The girl giggled in excitement; she loved delivering letters! Not only did it make her feel important and like a big girl, she got to explore new places! Exploring was postively the most bestest, awesome part about it!

"Oh cool!" Roshan said, kicking his legs a bit, "Do you want help with it? That's gotta be a lot of babies to find homes for." That was probably driving Darcy totally nuts by this point, all the craziness of having tons of kids around and such!
