While things had more or less cleared up by now, there were still remnants of clouds scattered here and there across the blue expanse overhead. Ajili was reclining in the shade of a tree, eyes tilted upwards and a contented smile painted on her lips. She closed her eyes and sighed quietly to herself, feeling peaceful--feeling happy.
Yes...she was happy.
The scent of grassblades filled the lioness's nose, its sharp sweetness setting her eyes open again. With slow, careful movements, the older lioness picked herself up onto her paws and set off walking again. She had had enough of a rest. The day would be wasted if she continued to daydream, after all. She couldn't have that. There were far too many good things left to experience that day. Old faces, new faces, conversations...
With an easy flick of the tail, Ajili padded slowly through the grass, eyes scanning the area for a recognizable face. No sooner had she begun to scan than the lioness had spotted something--or rather, someone. It was a cream-colored lioness, and, judging by her countenance, it was Hisia. Ajili's eyes weren't as good as they had once been, but she knew beyond the shadow of a doubt that it was Hisia.
Clearing her throat gently, the lioness approached the younger female, seeking a bit of conversation before she headed back to check up on her son (not that a full-grown boy needed much checking up on, but a son is always a baby in his mother's eyes).
Once she had closed some considerable distance between herself and the other lioness, Ajili called out, "Hello, Hisia," a motherly smile making its way onto her face. "Enjoying a walk?" It had been some time since Ajili last spoke to Hisia.
Hmm...hopefully she had been getting enough to eat....

Every day carried on with a breeze of relief for Hisia. After many moons, she could rest in peace without being burdened by the events that had transpired during the earthquake. She felt, for the first time since she laid eyes on her children, far happier than she ever remembered feeling. It came as a surprise to her, really, when she woke up this morning and realized how joyful she felt. In her current mood, the cream-colored lioness decided to take a walk, surveying the land with a small smile on her face.
After the shattering events that occurred during the earthquake, some said that she would never recover. Maybe, deep within her soul, she never did. No one could really guess the lioness's thoughts these days. She remained upbeat and more than happy to support those that were in need. As a mother, her children always came first. Even though some members of the pride still looked upon her children with caution, she would never let anyone think of them as the brood of Msiba.
As she padded on (with a light bounce in her steps), Hisia noticed the slender frame of a blue lioness ahead. She turned her head in recognition, remembering the motherly lioness who had found her way into the pride during the earthquake. Ajili. Though the two rarely spoke to each other, word did circulate about the blue lioness being the mother of the Map Seer, Ingi. However, from her view of Ajili, the blue lioness appeared to be asleep, lazing peacefully under the comfort of a tree. Though she would have loved to strike up a conversation, she would never deliberately wake someone.
In a lapse of hesitation, the cream-colored lioness turned, wondering of the possibility to speak with Ajili. Certainly not right now, but maybe after a while. Maybe after she had spoken with her childre-
Her ears flicked back as a voice broke the calm silence. Hisia turned around, meeting the gaze of the blue lioness. She couldn't really help herself, then, as she blinked several times. "Oh," she remained confused, her voice breaking as she hesitated. "I'm sorry. Did I wake you?"
She smiled sheepishly, shrugging her shoulders lightly. "I apologize again if I disturbed you. But to answer your question, yes, I am." Maybe Hisia was a little clueless, or she never noticed Ajili approach her, but she truly did feel sorry for disturbing the blue lioness.
Disrupting others was not of her nature.
