Never Stop Dreaming...

I'm not sure if there is already a thread about this, but as far as know, there isn't.

What is strength to you? And which is more important, Physical, Mental or emotional??

Physical as in muscle mass.
Mental as in intelligence, how much you know, IQ, creativity and stuff like that.
Emotional being understanding, strong willed, in-tune with what they feel and what others feel.

Emotional strength has little to do with being strong willed and nothing to do with being in tune with what they and others feel. It has to do with handling pain, hardship, or difficulty, just as emotional resilience means being able to do it all without becoming a gutted shell of a human being.
Of course intellectual strength is most important, but one needs emotional strength to make it in this world. Physical strength is merely handy and convenient.

Mental strength is very important. Emotional strength is useful. Physical strength is really rather weak compared to mental strength.

Mm, I pretty much agree with this. I think I posses them in amounts that fall rather in that order, too. Well, physical strength lowest, for sure. Maybe mental and emotional strength would be equal...I don't seem to be anywhere near as emotional about a lot of things as my friends are...hm...

I've seen you get rather intentionally passionate from time to time. You just have a mature sense of what is and isn't trivial and worth getting upset over, probably from all of the responsibility that keeps getting dumped in your lap.

Heh. I suppose you might be right, at that.

Humans are a social creature. Were, at our very core, tribalistic, forging our own friendship gourps and looking down upon those we deem replusive in behaviour or sometimes (sadly) by appearance. . Without the proper the emotional focus and strengh it really is impossible to fuction within a social group. Mental and pyshical health, for us are useful in our work and studies, but if we were without emotional strengh, we simply would not survive.

I think mental strength is most important. If you don't have intelligence you aren't going to do very well in life. Emotional strength would be next. Even with mental strength, if you aren't emotionally strong you'll be more likely to break down. That's something I need to work on, I'm way too easily overwhelmed by things. Physical strength is least important, as long as you're healthy anyhow. Just as long as there is someone to open the pickle jar for me, I'll be happy. That's how I feel they rank in order of importance, as far as what strength is to me, hmm...I'm not sure. I think it varies depending on who you are talking about. My strengths for instance, I don't think they fit particularly well into any of the above categories. I'm definitely not in the physical strength category. I do think my strengths tend to be more passive in nature. Less raging river and more slowly meandering stream. I listen and if you catch me when I'm actually awake and alert, I listen really well. Sometimes I forget some of the details, my Goblin likes to sweep them into dark corners, but I get a general feel for things and I'm usually really good at hearing what people want. Depending on the person and my ability to do so, I enjoy giving what is wanted. I'm not entirely sure that -is- a strength, it's definitely easy to take advantage of it considering my personality but I think it at least has the potential to be a strength. Hmm, I'm getting sleepy, I think I may have started babbling a bit in there. ^^;

As they say, brains before bronze. Knowing how to use physical strength is more important than actually having it. Emotional strength is really helpful too, my emotional strength varies on the person, for example, my parents can crush just about all my strengths, but I'm fairly strong with dealing with stress.
