The day was dieing on the horizons edge casting hues of darkening purple and blue across the sky. It mixed- nay it over took the last few embers of remainging gold and pink. like the last few troops still fighting the battle long after the sound of retreat reached their ears but not their hearts. It would be comepleatly dark soon not that it mattered much to her. As she was near enough by natures desighn a cretireure of the darkness herself. Her eyes wich peared out from under a mask made from the skull of the kalona that slaid her mother, were made for low light. liken to emerald flames in the way that they glowed and flickered. Her cloven hooves thuded against the ground at a steady pace and her taterted battle vestments and long royal purple mane rustled gently in the rapidly more chilling night air. The sounds of the rushing river caused her tounge to dry. For a moment she was torn between her self appointed duty to make her rounds or to clench her thirst. it will only be a moment she decided vearing off her path and down a small winding trail propably ussed by rabbits to the rivers edge.

Ahriman looked to the sky, pleased to see that the sun was setting and it was growing dark. He enjoyed the feel of the water against his coat during the day, but he longed to be able to socialize with others instead of hiding in murky waters. His long finned tail slowly moved back and forth as he made his way towards the shoreline. Stretched out like a crocodile, all that could be seen was his eyes, ears, spine, and tail slowly moving. He heard a noise in the distace, it was faint. Probably a small forest creature.

The bank she came to a was somewhat gravel coverd and had no trees for cover. Not that she needed it but it was a nice thing to have. Before leaveing the shelter of the forested path she looks up and down the shore. Her sense of smell catches a hint of something but it's faint. . . watery hardly anything at all. Satisfyed she steps on to the rocky shore. The various stones grind beneath her metal clad hooves. Admireing the stars over head she makes her way toward the waters edge. Eventually Lowering her head she prepares to take a sip of the fast moveing water.

Slowly his body wound through the water, his ears again heard a noise, this time closer. His eyes looked out and in the distance he saw the figure of a clothed soquili. Curiousity had always been his nature, Sometimes getting him into more trouble than it was worth.
Silently his body cut through the water, getting closer. Female... Petite...and armored? Yes, now he was intrigued. A few yards out in the water he lifted his head as the female lowered her's to drink.
"Traveling alone, Miss?" he called out to her, his brown body still camoflauged in the murky depths.

Just as her lips touched the cool surface a voice floated across the water. Her head came up as if bitten and He alighned in her vishion almost magnetically. At first she raised a hoof to take a step back but placed it back down firmly once she noted his rather . . .imposeing apperance. Light purple mane, a coat the color of murky water and adorned with bones. His eyes reminded her of icy fireflies. "Iam and yourself?" she said suspishisly. She was unsure of what kind of encounter this was. For most that wouldent be a problem but she was comprised of two polar oppsite halves. The socially awkward, almost inhibilitateing shy half of her wanted her to flee to avoid anyone getting close but the warrior within wanted to show her resolve to stand her ground. His manner thus far said social yet his apperance in general made her battle ready. Wich was probably why she could manage the few words she did say. The curage and the coward within her ever battleing within her It seemed somehow quite acidently found a . . . Workable mix?

He waded just slightly closer, slowly lifting his head up out of the water. His mane and beads were drenched, drip...drip...drip. He tilted his head to one side as he continued to look over the mare. He noted the skull helm and other adornments, it seemed she was a warrioress of sorts.
"I too travel alone," his voice calm. "It is not safe in these woods at night, Miss." he wanted to give her fair warning. He had found himself able to hide from most who passed by, blending with the waters they drank from. She... she would not be so lucky.
His chilling eyes met her piercing green orbs, "Returning from battle?" he inquired, motioning towards her armor.

as he drew closer she held fast at the waters edge. Her gaze met his confidently yet somewhat quizically as his question through her slightly. For a moment she wasent sure as to what he was refering to that he had drawn the conclushion of battle from. As far as she had knew she was free of blood spater and other such gore. Poet ushually saw to that quite throughly, and she was so ussed to her attire at this point that the thought of it being somewhat overly "battle esc" hasent crossed her mind. However after a moment she caught on and gave a strangely coy smile. "No. How about you? Returning from a canibal BBQ?" she retorted refering to the bone beads. Is this banter? Am I channeling Blakes personality or something? She wondered as her reply supprised her more than it did him she was almost sure. Giveig her head a slight shake she tried to be herself once more. Strighting her stance into something less cashual she added. "of course its dangerus that's why I'm patrolling."

Hey offered a laugh to her question, "Lucky for you, I'm not a meat eater," he waded even closer, stopping when the water reached his knees. "Patrol, eh? You and your companions must be new, I have not seen you or your kind before." he stated simply.
He wondered where they had come from, what they were doing in these lands. She didn't seem to want to cause any harm, and even if she did, he would just retreat back into the icy water for escape.
"Ahriman," he stated. "Most call me Ahri..." he waited to see if she would offer her name in return.

Names you idiot! Those are helpful not even five moments in and your already makeing a fool of yourself. She thought somewhat embrassed. "Indeed I suppose iam lucky. I'm Thesh-ah though thesh works just fine. A pleshure to make your aqantince." she replied not bothering to add her ofical title to it. With a thoughtul tilt of her head she mulled over his inquiery. "Were newish to this area specifically. Poet my two legger and Blake the other soq in our number like to change secnery offten. It borders on territorial ADD in my mind, but if it makes poet happy I'm more than willing to acomodate. I owe her more than I could ever admit to. " she concluded.

"Pleasure all the same, Thesh." he lowered his head briefly in a formal greeting to her.
"I would suggest in the morning that you have your two legger and herd move to more...Safe grounds. Skinwalkers are known to stalk these lands."
Skinwalkers seemed to enjoy the deep forests more than they did open lands. Most soquili tried to avoid them at all cost, Ahri did as well which is why he kept to the water.
Ahriman had not met many other soquili, especially ones that had two leggers. "What are they like, those two legged creatures?"

Though confident in her abilities she was certainly no fool when it came to knowing what she could and could not handle. Besides he didn't a appear to be one to exagerate. It would probably be safe to heed his warnings. "I see. . .I will indeed tell them or." she paused unsure of weather or not what was about to roll of her tounge was as wise as she wishes it to be. What's the worst that could happen? Yes he is rather. . .imposeing looking but then so are you and everything turned put allright. Poet dose like visitors anyway. . She mused. With a shrug she rolled along with the idea. "perhaps you would like to join me and tell them yourself? Poet could tell you about herself better than I could and I'm sure she would appricite the company." sh offered

His head tilted and he fell silent at her offer. He had heard stories, both good and bad about two leggers. He wasn't exactly sure that meeting one was what he wanted to do. Thesh did look well taken care of though... Perhaps her two legger was of the good sort?
"Perhaps... Perhaps I could just take a look at her?" Ahri would feel much more comfortable staying at a safe distance, at least for now.

The request was odd to her but far be it from anyone esspecilly her to question anyones compfort zone when it came to meeting new people. "allright." she said "let me just get my drink and we will be on our way." she added takeing a few steps down the bank to get her much desired drink of water. Drinking deeply she mused over this and that but esspecilly over how it had never occured to her how thisty all this talking bussiness could make a gal. Her ushual silence kept her from knowing such things. Though now she had to wonder how Blake wasent thirsty all the time she hardly ever shut up. all the one liners and smart a** remarks all th time must have made her quite parched. "This way" she remarked happily leading the way. She was really starting to enjoy haveing company. The only other soq she had ever really talked to other than Blake had been a long long time ago when she was still with her mothers herd.

Ahri slowly made his way out of the water, his keplie tail and fins now in full view of the mare. He stood on the shoreline and shook violently, small sprays of water flew from his body. The skulls and beads that adorned his mane jingled against one another in the movement. Once he was thoroughly shaken off, he returned his gaze to Thesh, waiting for a remark like so many others had made.
"Following you," he stated, bobbing his head a bit.

She waited for him to finish drying off, it looked like he was waiting for her to say something. For some moments she was quite unsure of what that thing would be. "oh it's not too. Far don't worry well have you back in the water in no time." she offered helpfully. His apperance ment nothing to her, his breed even less so at that moment. As far as she was concerned he had presented himself in a freindly manner and acording to poet that's all that really mattered. "if everyone went about paying more attention to looks and breed than personality. Ware would that leave us? No ware good that's for sure. - However if they cross you . . . Well just use your best judegement on that." Poet offten told thesh during her reformation period. Treat others in the fashion you wish to be treated. Though . . .she couldent help but feel like she was forgetting something something important.
