I haven't made a thread for my current daily beater, since I hadn't taken any pictures. But I got off my lazy a** tonight, and took some during my lunch hour. This is Andie, my 2007 Acura RDX. And for the "proof shot." I didn't have a pen and paper handy, so I put what I had handy in my wallet, my Initial D arcade game save card and business card. "But Millefune, I thought you were against buying foreign branded cars while our economy is in shambles?!" I am, but I sacrificed myself to take over payments on this stupid thing in order help keep my mother's credit score from taking a huge hit from a repossession. So I got the remainder of the balance refinanced in my name, and now I have an extra bill to pay. It's a decent car for a daily driver, and the drive is fun. I feel like I can toss her around corners and bends easier than Jennifer thanks to the SH-AWD and Honda's good chassis tuning. Still... I'd rather this money be going towards a Spark or Fiesta. *Sighs.* sad

Well it is a good car for daily use, and for a good cause. So, no losers here.

s i x s p e e d It's the only turbo Honda makes. Nah, they offer MDX in turbo as well. Ironically, Honda seems to think that it's only necessary to fit turbochargers on SUVs.

True that! If this engine and drivetrain were on the TSX instead of that stupid front-heavy V6 FWD only version... that car would be a much more mature and classy (pre-guillotine grill, 2004-200 cool alternative to the offerings from Mitsubishi and Subaru. I can seriously toss this thing as if it were a car... I could only imagine what it would be like if it were as small and low as a TSX. Honda seriously doesn't know what it's doing. They had a following with their lightweight and 100 HP/L Civics and featherweight CRXs, the S2000, and the 7th generagion Accord really had some sporting intentions. But now they pretty much have "sporty Toyotas" that are ******** ugly.

That has to be sarcasm... that thing is ridiculously ugly. It's what happens when you let a woman design a car. All current Acuras are ugly, Andie included.

... Yeah, you're right. It is ugly. What I meant to say is that it's striking. When I was on my way to New Jersey a few months ago, one came up from behind me. I wasn't sure what it was until it got close enough. It's really odd.

As pictured, Andie is a dark gray metallic color...
I will NEVER buy a black, or any shade of black (including this darker gray), car again! White, yellow, or light blue (or a dark metallic/crystal/pearl red) from now on. I cannot handle getting into a black car in the summer. Even with the windows tinted, and the windshield reflector, it's like getting into an oven! ******** THIS s**t! Why couldn't I have taken over a white car?!

If I were to get a Spark (the Fiesta and Focus are REALLY growing on me), the money would actually go to both Detroit and South Korea. The cost to pay the labor of the manufacturing will go to SK, but all the profit and much of the parts cost will go to Detroit/USA. More profit means more ability to pay the relatively overpaid Americans, and more taxes to help the poorer folk get healthcare (unlike most Republicans, I am not against letting poor people have healthcare). I think the Fiesta is going to be built in Mexico, while after the first year, the Focus will be made in the US. But still, GM and Ford are the biggest employers of US Citizens, so whatever help I give them helps my society.
If I'm lucky, someone will run a redlight and be at fault for wrecking Andie, so I can use the insurance money for something more of my preference. wink
