Bright blue eyes stared blankly up at the stars that were shining above the cheetah lying sprawled out across the grass. White tipped ears were pulled back against his head and a checkered tail was raised slightly in the air, before it flopped down as he seemed to deflate with a sigh.

The cheetah's name was Rokusasu... or that's what he assumed, anyway, and he was going to stick with that until proven otherwise. It was the only thing he could cling to by this point. Frustration burned through him at that thought. Shaking his head vigorously, he turned his gaze down to his paws and pouted down at them. Why couldn't he remember anything beyond that? It was... very empty, not having anything else to think back on.

'Although,' he thought, with a glance back up at the glittering dots above him, 'this is a nice first memory.' It was true; he had just woken up to find himself here, and the first sight to meet his eyes was of the clear night sky. He had ended up staring up at it in contentment for a few moments, before he realized that he had no recollection of how he got here.

Black ears twitched in irritation, as the lioness trudged forward. Aislin was intent on finding a suitable sleeping spot for the night. Her mouth opened wide to let out a long yawn, exhaustion sweeping through her. All she wanted was a nice, peaceful spot to lie down and fall asleep, undisturbed, but nooooo, every time she tried to get some sleep, some annoying creature would start to bug her - sometimes literally, as she thought back to those crickets.

Yes, she was grouchy enough to actually be angry at a bunch of crickets, but was it really to much to ask for some silence? She just wanted everyone to shut up.

Of course, it was rather quiet around here. Perhaps she would finally.... She paused, a scowl forming on her face at the sight of another shadow lying nearby. 'Of course.....' Her tail flicked angrily back and forth, as she glared at whoever it was.

It was tempting to ignore the problems that came with amnesia and simply continue staring up at the beautiful sight. As he turned his head, he could see the moon shining out like a beacon behind him - a full moon, on closer inspection. The tip of his tail twitched cheerfully at that.

However, reality came back to him when he noticed a pair of shining green eyes staring back at him. Freezing up, Rokusasu stared back into the icy orbs burning at him, tensing up more and more as he took in the shape of another large feline. One of his ears flattened against his head, while the other stayed pointed towards his shadowy companion. He considered saying something, before deciding to watch and see what they would do first.

Aislin's gaze hardened when the other finally registered that she was standing there. For a second, she willed him (it looked like a "him", so she went ahead and decided it was a "him" ) to disappear so she could take a nap, but common sense told her that he was there first.

'Unless...' Her eyes narrowed in thought, 'Yes, it could work... but how to go about doing it...?' Relaxing her body into a mildly less intimidating posture, she began leisurely making her way closer.

Rokusasu took a quick glance around him, and then narrowed his gaze back on the approaching lion. 'Lioness,' he corrected himself, when she was close enough for him to see her in more detail. He was not sure why she was walking up to him, but she did not seem like she was going to attack him.

So, he merely pulled his tail up around his legs and watched her with a guarded look on his face.

Aislin scoffed at how the male did not seem to acknowledge her past staring at her, but she did give him props for not talking her ear off like a few others she had met in the past. She blinked when she was close enough to realize that he was a cheetah, having expected another lion, but quickly shook it off. It didn't matter either way what he was, so long as the outcome stayed the same.

Slowing to a stop, she raised an eyebrow at him,
"I won't bite you, you know." For now.

The black and white male eyed her for a second longer, before shrugging and nodding quickly at her. She had a point; if she was planning on doing anything to him, she would have acted already. 'Right?' That's what he guessed anyway. Besides, maybe they knew each other....

He paused at that thought, considering it, and then came to a decision.
"I guess...."

She raised her other eyebrow at his quiet voice, but again, shrugged it off. Moving to stand a couple feet away from him, she calmly slid down to the ground, mentally enjoying the feel of lying down. 'This sure as hell better work.' Shifting over onto her side, she lifted her hind leg to scratch at an itch behind her neck. "Don't worry. I'm just looking for a quiet place to sleep for the night."

It was a fair answer. One he couldn't really argue with.

Rokusasu tilted his head to the side, and then hummed softly to himself. If they had known each other, she wasn't giving him any indication to such. Finally, he decided to just push through.
"Who... are you?"

Blunt, wasn't he? Well, she couldn't really gripe about that, since she was rather blunt too. "Aislin. You?"

"... Rokusasu," he assumed, but it was probably best not to mention that he wasn't sure. At least he now had an answer that no, she did not know him, and that really did not help his situation. He sighed at this, turning his gaze to look up at the sky again.

Aislin observed him briefly, noting how he seemed to pause often in his sentences, as if he were unsure about something. Her eyes then flashed as an idea came to her. Rolling onto her stomach, she stretched herself out. "Is something bothering you? You seem troubled."

He looked back at her, eying her cautiously before shrugging. Really, what did he have to lose by this point? "I'm just... confused," he said.

She raised an eyebrow at the vague answer. "About?"

He muttered, "... Everything," and then shook his head, looking down at the grass between his paws. He was not sure if she could aid in his plight, but any sort of advise would do right now. So, he reluctantly blinked his eyes up at her. "What would you if you..." he considered his words, ".. if you were looking for something you lost?"

She had to fight off the scowl when she heard another vague answer, and was thankfully saved from doing so when he continued talking. Aislin blinked at his question, wondering why he would ask something with such an obvious answer. "Look for it, of course," she scoffed.

Rokusasu shrugged, supposing that that did seem like the logical choice, but.... ".. But what if you don't really know what it is you're looking for?"

The lioness stared at him. "Then how would you have known you've lost it?" she said, speaking slowly as if she thought he was nuts, which, truthfully, she kind of did.

The cheetah's ears flattened against his head in agitation. This wasn't coming out the way he had hoped it would. "Well, I mean..." His cheeks puffed out in frustration, ".. say you know what it is you've lost, but you don't know how to find it?

This conversation was turning out to be one of the more stranger ones she has had to date, she realized, but if she answered correctly, it would probably make him go away.

So she shrugged,
"Still search for it, I suppose." She slid her gaze off to the side, "It's not like sitting around doing nothing is going to solve the problem, now is it?" She glanced back at him with half-lidded eyes, watching to see if it had the desired effect.

Rokusasu paused at her words. She had a point. Sitting here, star gazing, wouldn't help him regain his memories. He should be up, looking for clues to his past. Who knows, maybe there were people looking for him even now? Either way, ignoring the problem was not the answer.

That decided, he nodded slowly,
"I suppose you're right..." A minute or two passed as he thought over where to start.

Finally, his tail flicked behind him as he stood up. With a small smile, he nodded back at her.
"Thanks, Aislin," and with that, he turned and began walking, intent on finding clues as to who he was. He wasn't sure if he was going to find them, but he may as well start searching now, and he wouldn't stop until he had some answers.

The dark-furred lioness nodded back at him as he got up, and then watched him leave. Once he was far enough away, she scoffed and rolled her eyes. "Yeah, whatever. At least he's gone now."

Satisfied, and uncaring over whether her advise was actually good or not, she twirled her tail around her side and rested her head on her paws, fully prepared to sleep in the peace and quiet she had been looking for.
