I've had multiple friends who had confronted me on their want to transfer into Judaism. Now, I have yet to transfer into Judaism, but they know that I've been studying the religion for a year or so. So I decided to post this to clarify for anyone who wants to officially convert to Judaism.

They tell me that they would walk up to a Rabbi and request a conversion. Then the Rabbi would deny them a conversion. They'd ask me why they were denied a conversion.

Well, the reason is because Judaism is a religion in which you cannot convert out of. If you convert into Judaism and the Jewish YVWH is real, then if you try to convert to another religion, it would be like worshiping a false idol.

So, you have to ask the same Rabbi THREE times, and those three times the Rabbi will slam the door on your face, metaphorically or literally depending on the place. But the fourth time, you will be accepted, for they know you are willed strongly enough to want a conversion bad enough to pester a Rabbi three times after being denied.

This process can take one year or ten years, depending on your Rabbi. So this process should not be taken lightly, and it's not an easy experience like Islam is, where all you have to say is a few lines in Arabic and you are a Muslim.

Hope I helped any of you who were considering converting.

Should you tell people this? I mean, it sounds like a test. Feels like it's less of a test if people know what it is and how it works.

I don't think you can convert out of a good few religions.

Like you're put on a hit list if you do so in Islam.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali is one person sought after very widely by muslims as she's now an atheist.

Though I'd normally agree with this, a lot of people (at least the ones I want to be affiliated with) don't wish to be stubborn jackasses, and don't need to be told more then once that they need to go away.

Yeah we Jews don't like people converting to our religion much because of the fact that often times people will convert and then after a few weeks or maybe a year they'll say "Oh this is too hard, I'm gonna quit" but you can't quit. Another concern is that the people who join won't take it seriously. Also I'm not certain but the three slam then accept doesn't always apply.

The Jews used to openly proselytize but stopped due to geopolitics and haven't in thousands of years..
That is, to say, we don't try to bring non-Jews into Judaism. The loophole there that you can try to radicalize or reform Jews from other denominations into yours is not lost on some sects even in the modern day. One of my very reform cousins used to be noticeably recruited by some Orthodox girls in her building.
It's almost never a problem though.
