User ImageUser Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The Desert was cold at night, it always was, normally Faleen would think to bring a sweater of some kind, but she hadn’t had time to pick one up before heading out this time around.
It was a dark night, the sliver of moon that was shining was tucked behind scattered clouds in the sky, making the world below very hard to see. Not that this detoured the Rocket. Her uniform warn respectfully, the red R blazing on her chest whenever the moon would peek timidly out of its wispy hiding place.
A dulled black figure hunkered lower toward the ground stalked next to the women as she strode slowly through the sand, though being careful not to wander to far from the HQ. While normally the yellow grins around his body would be glowing on his body at the spark of the moons light, there wasn’t much in the way of light from the moon this evening, Faleen did enjoy it when his rings would glow, but the sight, always brought an unsettling feeling into her heart, the Umbreon’s ability to cause fear, even to its ally was strong. Faleen was grateful for the stillness of this walk.

Up a head of her, a creature who was much easier to spot, larger white beast, with a knife like hook parading from his head, and a thick white mane around his neck. The Absol’s wider feet and thick claws, made it much easier for him to move through the sand, giving him more incentive to move ahead and explore.

There was a point when Faleen did stop, breathing out a sigh as she wrapped her arms around her chest, eyes scanning the vast desert before her. Or at least what she could see of it, many things going through her mind. The Umbreon next to her stopped walking as well, slowly sitting down in the sand, and bowing his head, with his ears held high and large red eyes locked on the Absol who continued moving forward.

The desert was an altogether new experience - blistering hot in daylight and chilled, cold, sometimes even downright frigid after the sun's last light vanished from the horizon. More interesting than the climate, however, was the sky boasted by the desert night. Vast and black, dappled with bright points of light, all inevitably converging on the massive white disc that was the moon - such was what comprised the heavens in that remote place. The moon, of course, was a familiar sight, but its brilliance was a candle against an inferno compared to its appearance in Camphoreon, and the stars' intensity was wholly alien. Aila was fascinated.

Fleur bounded through the sands, taking in the volume of it all. No walls, no ceilings, no sidewalks, no passerby - it was indescribably different from all she and her human had ever known. Little three-toed footprints marked the path she had traveled, Aila remaining close enough to keep her in sight.

Neither in her captivation noticed the form of the woman and her Umbreon a little ways off nor the Absol looming in the distance.

Absol was accustoming to the snow, it was where he lived, where he grew up. The desert was something that had been complete new to him since he had been captured by his new master. The sand… it got everywhere, and clung deep into his fur, it slipped and slid under his large claws, and smelled considerably more filthy and dry.
And then there was the heat, even now Absol would not consider the air cold, like his master and team mate Umbreon might think, but it was better than the day.
Absol explored up ahead, his curiosity not limiting him to his master’s side, but remembering to stay within a close calling proximity.
Every now and then his head would lift up; nose pointed to the air where he would sniff lightly, the smell never changed, just in case, though, he still checked, taking a quick sniff, before lower his head again.
During one of the light puffs, Absol actually caught a waft in the air that was different than the others… something was here, something new.
Red eyes, surrounded in glossy black widened, his pace stopping so abruptly that it caused Umbreon to jerk to a halt, watching the white creature intently.

If dark types didn’t have the best senses during night, then Faleen didn’t know what did. She could tell from their body language that they had found something. Not nearly as intrigued, she lifted her head slowly, hazel eyes scanning the darkness for any hint that might have drawn her pokemon’s attention.

Hunkering slow against the sand, Absol stalked forward, diving into hunter’s mode.
It wasn’t long before he spotted something… a grass type, another pokemon it looked like, though one he had never seen before. It seemed to be enjoying its self in a careless manner.
a smaller haunting voie wafted over Absol’s head, the dark type paid no mind as a Shuppet suddenly blinked into existence over his head. His dark eyes were locked on the Bulbasaur.

The dark colored Shuppet smiled, be much more forward then the other two, disregarding his hiding team mate, the ghost drifted forward toward the grass type.

Fleur was completely oblivious to the scrutiny she underwent by Absol and Umbreon as she kicked up sand and watched the quartz fragments glitter in the moonlight. She did not even detect the Shuppet's approach, and his sudden greeting startled her. She tilted her head slightly, vines extending from the bulb on her back and reaching up to better take in the form of the little ghost-type. She had never seen anything quite like it.

Aila took immediate notice when her Bulbasaur's frolicking suddenly halted. An enemy? Or perhaps she was injured? The girl could only barely make out a second silhouette at her distance. She quickened her pace to investigate, brow knit in suspicion.

Absol's quiet features turned down into a soft frown when Shuppet just went over and blatantly gave away his position.
That pokemon didn't know anything about subtlety, then again, maybe that came with being raised his entire life around humans.

Shuppet tilted his head a little at the started reaction of the Bulbasaur, the hem of his skirt like body flaring out as he sunk lower toward the sand.
he was used to seeing pokemon in the aria, he knew that it was more then likely the pokemon belonging to another Rocket. and if it wasn't... well then it was wild, Faleen wouldn't want it, and it would be good training opportunity.
this one however, looked taken care of, it was not wild.
"Shup Shupp, Shuppet" he cooed softly, with a tiny smile.

Absol glanced over his shoulder when the padded foot falls of his master came closer. Faleen and Umbreon stopped next to him, gazing down at the dark figures below... it looked like she was sharing this night with someone else.
"Shuppet" Faleen Spoke, trying to make out what pokemon he was interacting with.

A wide grin spread on Fleur's face as she came to understand that the thing before her was a pokemon, and a friendly one at that. She lifted her vines into a haphazard heart shape, a happy "saaurrr!" accompanying her bright smile. In the past, all other pokemon had been enemies, regardless of their demeanor. Being permitted to interact with them was a new and exciting experience, not unlike the desert itself.

Aila, however, had not changed mindsets so easily. The Shuppet had appeared out of nowhere and approached her Bulbasaur. If this was not a challenge, then it was an ambush. Her first instinct was to facilitate a swift escape.

"Fleur, Sleep Powder," she called in a voice unique to "work time." The addressed turned to her trainer, confused at the sudden command, but complied nonetheless, a cloud of drowsying spores wafting out from her bulb.

“Shup?” The ghost type blinked, looking up when a girl came up, his head tilted to the side slightly, until she seemed to give her pokemon an order… oh! So this much is the Bulbasaur’s master!
He heard her give the order for an attack, Shuppe’s eyes widened in surprise to be in a battle so suddenly, he floated higher, getting ready for the attack…. But when a sparkling powder wafted from the Bulb’s on the other pokemon’s back, the ghost type just floated in the air for a moment, blinking and looking around.
… It didn’t seem to be doing anything… it sure was pretty though! Letting out a happy little “Shup” the pokemon began to sway through the glittering powder, completely unfazed.

Absol was on his feet now, both dark types standing on either side of Faleen, staring down with more clarity on what was going on than their master did. The grunt could make out basic forms, and she heard what attack was called. Another human showed up, and was engaging in battle with Shuppet. Inclining her head downward slightly she opened her mouth to let herself be heard.
“Shuppet’s Insomnia keeps attacks like that from affecting him” she informed the dark figure that she assumed was the trainer. Unfolding her arms she made her way down the dune toward the others. Absol and Umbreon sliding down ahead of her.

Fleur was baffled at her Sleep Powder's complete ineffectiveness, but she was glad that her new friend (as she had already decided Shuppet was) was not suffering by her own actions. Aila, though, felt no relief from the situation. That her primary and favorite means of escape was wholly useless was disconcerting at best. She prepared to issue a second command calling for Sweet Scent but was interrupted by an unexpected explanation. Rosy eyes turned to the approaching trainer and pokemon, and she regarded the group warily.

"Shall I presume that this is one of your own?" she said, inclining her head in the Shuppet's direction. If it was a trained pokemon, she felt it somewhat safe to assume that the circumstances would not warrant further hostility, but she remained on guard nonetheless.

Well for one, Faleen noticed that the girl had a certain touch to her words, one that she recognized very easily. Not many Rocket members spoke that way, with such a dignified formality.
It raised the question if the girl was a Rocket, and not just some luckless trainer that wandered to far into the desert somehow.
This question was quickly answered as Faleen drew closer; she couldn't quite make out the color of her clothes, but the unmistakable small "R" blazing from the shoulder, she was an ally.
“The Shuppet belongs to me, yes” she answered with a slight incline of her head to the side, shifting her gaze over to the Shuppet who was moving back toward her.
“My apologies if he was bothering you, he tends to be nosy. I didn’t know I was going to be sharing the desert this late at night with anyone else, or I would have kept a closer eye on him”
it was at this time that Faleen offered a welcoming smile.

Aila listened carefully to her words. Now here was an intelligent young woman! Aila had been beginning to suspect that she was the last human on the face of the planet capable of polite speech.

"No, I should apologize," she said, angling her upper body forward in a slight bow. "I should not have responded with violence. It was my first instinct, and I am sorry." She ignored Fleur's grumbles at her side - she could only imagine that the Bulbasaur would be saying "I told you so" had she the capacity to use human words.

"My name is Aila," she introduced with a curtsy. "I should hope that my presence is not an intrusion..."

Faleen shook her head, lifting a hand up in a light gesture of dismissal, “I don’t blame you, in most situations it’s what we’re trained to do, it’s good to react quickly.”
Next to her the Umbreon stared up at the human, paying no mind to Fleur, it was Absol who was peering down at the grass type with an unblinking stare, his features quiet. Unlike Shuppet who was drifting back and forth, with a small smile on his face.

“I’m Faleen” was her turn in the introduction, smiling at the curtsy that had been given, this girl officially intrigued her.
Shaking her head softly as the question on if she was intruding Faleen moves her hands to fold them behind her. “Don’t worry, I’m not the territorial type who gets offended at the idea of sharing moonlight or sand. To be honest its actually nice to see someone else out here this late.”

Aila met the Umbreon's eyes with her own discerning gaze. His coat was a rich and lovely black like the darkness that curtained around them, illuminated by bright rings that paralleled the moonlight. Truly the pokemon was night personified, and Aila found herself admiring his elegance. She shifted her attention next to the Absol, a stark contrast to the Umbreon with his snowy mane and midnight-colored accents. He was no less refined, though, and both pokemon shared a similarly piercing scarlet glare. Aila spared a glance at the Shuppet and raised a subtle eyebrow. Compared to his teammates, he seemed a bit... lax.

Aila, in all honesty, would have preferred to continue to enjoy the desert night in solitude, but now that she knew Faleen was there, she could not simply ignore her presence. "I thank you," she said in a quiet voice, turning her eyes to the soft gradient that painted the horizon.

Fleur studied her human in a rare moment of keen insight. She was uneasy about something. Again. The Bulbasaur heaved an exasperated sigh. Always so high-strung, her human. Always distrusting, even surrounded by allies.

Letting the silence continue as her new acquaintance looked between Faleen’s own pokemon, the two dark types, whom Faleen could feel pride for, the Ghost however… as Faleen watched the pokemon floated back toward Fleur. He gave a much different vibe from the rest of the team, Faleen knew this was clear.
Tilting her head as she looked back over to Aila, Lips parting slightly as she made out a look on her face, glancing over to follow the other’s gaze toward the horizon.
“I’m hearing that plans of defenses are going to be going up in the desert aria, so who knows how much longer we’ll be able to do this, at least depending on what kind of precautions they take.”
it would be a shame if parts of the desert became off limits to everyone without pass codes or scheduled leave. But this was just something she heard in passing, she didn’t know the details. For all she knew it wouldn’t affect desert walks at all.
“Extended courtesy of Galactic.” At least it would keep them from anymore unexpected visits.
Looking back over to the girl, the longer she stood, letting the darkness adjust to her eyes, she could start… kind of making out the color of her uniform, it looked red now.
“Are you trainee?”

An expression resembling a scowl contorted Aila's features. "I would despair greatly at such news," she said earnestly. "I find a certain joy in the desert's view of the night sky." She felt no relaxation more pure and profound than when she basked in the starlight. It was a sensation that she had never had the opportunity to know in the past, and she found that she adored it.

She noticed Faleen's glance, returning it warily out of the corner of her eye. "Yes," she replied, somewhat apprehensive. "I have joined only recently."

Blinking her eyes in the quiet, before a small smile formed on her lips, not oblivious to the looks the girl was giving, telling that she was on edge.
"Well then, welcome to Team Rocket."
folding her arms back over her chest, shifting her stance, boots shuffling in the sand as she turned to face the dark desert.
"For the safety of HQ I can understand it. though I feel the same as you. it can get pretty stuffy in there at times, especially if your not going on missions."
The dark blond looked down toward the sand, letting off an almost regretful sigh, before she smiled and looked back over to Aila.
