And just perks as a whole.
I just checked the XIV site and under news it explains a perk system for XI player going over to XIV.
The list isn't big or that interesting its just the lack of details that annoys me.
The perks are
- A discount on your XI account subscription
- The transfer of your character's name over to XIV
- And a special in-game item. The Hermes Shoes, which given the name make you move faster, NOT attack faster.
The site has the full details of everything you need.
Now for some discussion do you think the perk items will be available to receive in-game through quests? Or do you think that so many people will reserve the game in both types, and jump over to XIV that the items will be near worthless?
Do you regret reserving one version as opposed to the other?
Personally I do want those goggles to help improve my character fast, but the real world items from the collectors edition was too much for me to pass up.

I don't think the same exact items will be available threw a quest but probably an item with the same effects will be. Well their should be one for the shoes at lest.
I want to buy both versions tho crying I have a wired obsession with collecting items. Rare items not your everyday items. Tho if tho goggles are still available with the standard edition latter in the years and the price drops i might buy it then.

I was thinking the same thing, there is a guide on the site to explain how a XI account would qualify for a XIV perk.

just for some ppl know the game it self will not be red for the ps3 or xbox 360 for a few months of being on the pc and there will be no ps3 or 360 bata test and if you dont belive me the your not a bata tester for it cus it says on our fourms that we have there wount be 1

There is no 360 version planned PERIOD.
They couldn't reach an agreement with Xbox LIVE to allow the game to run it.
And we're also aware that the PS3 version has been pushed back.
What does that have to with the XI/XIV perks.

I have an old XI account thats not been active for a few years... will I still be able to get these said perks?

No, the perks are only for simultaneous XI and XIV active accounts.
The reason for this is because the perk for XI is an extreme discount allowing XIV to have easier time playing for XIV probably.
Now I'm probably going to create a new XI account a few days after my XIV so I'll be able to get the perk.
