Okay, I decided to brainstorm a brand new rp that will fit everybody's criteria and one that will knock their socks off until they explode! >=D
But what I need to know first, is what everybody likes.
So if you think you're interested in helping me brainstorm for the rp a bit so I can get a plotline down for you, let me know. Your ideas will help me so that way I can make an rp that will satisfy EVERYONE and not just certain people.
Let the brainstorming begin!
Here's where it stands so far:
For the plotline:
Romance
Tradgedy
Action
Adventure
Character Development (possible that this might be used for MOST of this plot)
For the characters and other parts in the plotline:
Villians
Traps

Well I don't like to rp, but you know what would be nice?
Why not make it some sort of adventure rp for everyone?
I mean, who doesn't like a good adventure, right?
Oh! And maybe put some romance in it also. But let's not forget some tradgedy. =3

Adventure, Romance and Tradgedy so far. *writes it down in her notebook under ideas*
Does anybody want to contribute something? I can't just have one person's opinion. I need more people who actually want to join this rp when it goes up and I want to know everybody's tastes of rps.

You really can't please everyone without making something so generic that no one sticks around. Just start something you want to do, and open it up to suggestions.

I'm only asking for IDEAS that everyone shares in common. If everyone likes the same thing, then it should be no problem to meet everyone's criteria. That's what I'm trying to say here.
Like, not to be rude or anything, but saying that just kind of sucks the fun out of this idea. We all have to try something new every once in awhile, right?

With the adventure thing, let's put some action into that. Whats a good adventure without bad guys and traps. Know what im sayin'. I like the romance thing too.

I'm not trying to be mean, just saying that you shouldn't water everything down just to attract as many people to it as possible. ಠ__ಠ
"It has action, romance, and a villain" isn't exactly going to catch anyone's attention. In fact, people tend to related to better to specific, well-developed characters than generic blobs intended to be audience surrogates.
So if you want my input, the plot doesn't matter quite so much if you can get some really good interactions between characters. To me, character development is a million times better than mindless action and corny love-at-first-sight romance.

Not counting I'm not starting this argument thank you. I don't really feel like picking any fights here.
I mean, yes, character development is good.
But the plotline development is good also.
If you think about it, they're balanced, once can't just top another. Also, I understand that you're not trying to be mean, but I'm not trying to be mean either.

Well, if you're trying to make it appealing to everyone, it sort of implies you're trying to get more people to join.
It's my opinion that character development is what drives a plot. If you have too much focus on keeping everyone "on the rails," so to speak, it kills the fun. You do need to strike a balance, but this particular point is just a matter of opinion. It's kind like the difference between a sitcom driven by wacky hijinks and a sitcom driven by four people sitting in a restaurant for twenty minutes talking. Neither is necessarily better than the other, just some people prefer one over the other.
I'm not trying to argue anything, I'm giving an opinion. You asked what everyone likes in an RP, and I'm telling you what I like.

Something with character development is good. I guess there would be no sturdy plotline but something that will help portray a character's actions and such.

of if you go to my idea i want to be co caption of it.....TAPPED IN A COMPUTER GOING TO SITES AND TOPICS WE LIKE =D like free roam but we do run into problems but still =D COME OOOONNN oh and since its my idea if you dont do it that means i own it and no one can copy us =D

@Gohon: That can be a possibility for another rp I can make, as long as you wish to help me with the plotline for that one.
@Soul: As I say to Gohon, that can also apply here. I was thinking of making more rps and I think that would be a wonderful topic for a seperate one.
