Aka'Ula growled to himself as he walked in the direction that his companion Ramisi had told him to, toward the Aka'Mleli lands. They were quite the ways off, according to the bird, which did nothing to brighten the already irritated lion's mood.
"How long did you say this would take?" He grumbled, "And you're certain that the lions in that pride can tell me more about him?" He hated having to rely on the bird so much, but he knew he had few other options. She seemed to know more than anyone else he had spoken to on the matter, and if nothing else that made her useful to him. Even if she was annoying beyond all belief. The heat was bad enough without having to carry a hawk on your back all the time, and one that never stopped talking, at that.
"If you're lying to me, you're in for it, Ramisi."
"Will you quit your whining?" Ramisi shook her head, "The more you complain about it the longer it'll take for us to get there." She hadn't accounted for the fact that lions didn't travel over land as fast as birds did in the air, or the fact that they'd have to go around obstacles that she could ordinarily fly over. Oh well, it wasn't her who had to walk all this way.
"Well it would have only taken a few days if it was just me, but since I have to wait for your slow hide... Who knows? A week? Two? I guess it all depends on how fast you can move those legs, furball." She laughed. The fact that they had to make such a long detour was amusing to her. In fact, they were even farther from the Aka'Mleli then they had been when they first met! But if the lion had continued in that direction he would have met impassable fissures, tall mountains, and all sorts of other things that his land-bound self would be unable to cross.
"And yes, I am fairly sure they will know something. He was traveling with some members of the pride, last I heard, so why wouldn't they? Don't you trust me?" She teased, "I guess it doesn't matter, I'm the only source you've got, eh?"
