User ImageRipping into the Earth had never made the male feel so alive, daunting and all powerful as he showcased what flexibility he had gained over the years. Hurling nearly all of his weight over boulders, stumps, shrubs, and even low-lying branches did not even leave the alpha winded; he was mighty, he was fierce, and he was capable of almost anything.

Especially what he and Dunn had planned.

Yes, in fact Marley would never feel as certain of a decision again so long as this pack idea did not fall through cracks in its making. The brother he had always had but lost for a short time, returned and with him brought a beacon of hope—Marley would have rotted away within this jungle of wolves, settling grudgingly with a mate (Probably Pumpkin) and becoming the father of several hundred offspring’s if it hadn’t been for Dunn’s inspiration. It was a blessing to have his brother around again, and just as much as it made him happy did it also fill him with rage. Despite their similar ideals, males would always be males and one day, Marley knew, the two of them would have at it over some ridiculous situation, like they used to in the past. It was the reason why he sprinted through the foliage and risked life and limb over nature. It was the reason why he had to get away from the snoring alpha male he would soon call partner in a pack they would both control.

At the same time he sprinted in search for recruits. Wise-cracking strong minded, strong in general—Marley aimed to please both branches of Tana de Gamberoni equally; the commoners and the military. Although most preferred the side which would fight the most fights, Marley knew his lot would come in time, and the commoners would grow in strength and numbers like his wit and charm grew on nearly every female he passed. The two alphas trusted one another in judgment, and Marley knew Dunn would have no problem accepting a wolf HE had picked…so that was exactly what the long-haired male would do.

He kept running until the forest thinned and his obstacles became nothing more then pebbles in the sands. Slowing to a steady trot, Marley scanned the distance and searched as far out as he could. Today felt like one of those good days...one of those lucky days.

User Image He missed the far north.

High in the mountains, where the air was thin and the wind nipped beneath the pelt. Where it was often colder than it was mildly warm. Where he was born and raised, in the rough and rugged atmosphere, with little to no contact with man and half starved predators were danger to pup and adult alike.

It was ars there, but it was home. In his opinion, such hardships carved and molded a wolf into being a formidable, admirable opponent.

He couldn't remember, for the life of him, what possessed him to travel further south. The hot summer wasn't for him and he found himself steadily migrating northward yet again, towards the bitter cold, missing the pack where none were coddled. Perhaps if old Jargir was still alpha, he could have a shot at winning the position. The wolf was aging and the whole pack knew it. He left to become stronger, to know the ways of all places, yet the urge to return felt almost as strong as a bird's want to migrate. Of course, there were ways to convince him to stay further south from the place he was raised. Power, the promise of a strong pack, anything of the like would be enough to convince the hefty, perpetually ornery creature to linger.

He moved at a quick, yet not hasty, speed. His t
oned muscles rippled beneath his dark pelt. He relished in the lush beauty of the summer-time atmosphere around him, a time that was brief further north, yet equally beautiful. Soon his favorite season, autumn, would be upon the land.

A quick glimpse of the future flashed before his eyes, crossing the path he walked and stirring what territorial tendencies were within him. A large black male, equal to Dunn's height if not Marley's, slipped from shadow to shadow even with the high-noon sun. Invisible to those who wouldn't be searching, Marley froze on sight and swayed from side to side in unison with the up wind breeze. Soon the stranger's nose would itch and the face of a proud alpha would be the center of his attention. Green eyes would focus in on every detail after that point, picking apart the meaning of a twitchy brow or the hike of a tail...looking for that show of dominance.

Usually Marley came across free roaming wolves. The lones of this part were prevalent; not all were useful, but for the most part he never worried about encroaching on claimed grounds. So, until the other male turned and gave acknowledgment where it was due, Marley would watch. This was the luck standing on his side; yes, he would wait.

Indeed, his nose did itch.

The scent of a stranger, a proud stranger at that, had his hot blood boiling in almost an instant. He could discern from the scent of this fellow, male, that he was healthy and strong. A sharp contrast to many of the lone wolves the black and white fellow had come across, wolves with which he had wasted no time in either establishing himself as the more dominent or chasing them off from kills.

But there wouldn't be any such thing here, at least not easily. The moment his gold eyes landed on the handsome, brown and tan creature, he knew this would not be some average meeting. His brow furrowed and his ears perked, swiveling towards the stranger. Listening, observing, acknowledging. His path was rerouted by only a few paces towards the stranger, his tail hiked higher than an average gamma wolf would hold it.
