This is a cool RPG Maker game based on Mother (think Earthbound) with Touhou characters and such spliced in. There's a ton of references all over the place, and it's a lot of fun if you like the Mother series, Touhou, and RPGs in general. Useful LinksMain English PageDownload Link (In case you can't find it on the page) RPG Maker 2000 Japanese RTP(Note: this game and the RTP installer seem to require either Japanese non-unicode language setting or applocale to work on most PCs) So yeah, kind of surprised this hadn't been posted in here yet. Anyway, been playing this a bit lately, pretty awesome game.

I've been playing Touhou Mother lately. :3
It's a really nice game, and pretty difficult just like the original Mother games.
However, I decided to stop playing it because I'm not the biggest fan of MarisaxPatchouli. I almost felt like the creator of the game was forcing it on me after beating Alice. :'x

Sweet game, especially for a Mother/Earthbound fan. I kinda stopped playing since I got stuck at the bamboo forest though sad

So are you one of the types that can't tolerate anything other than their preferred pairing? horneldiablo I kinda stopped playing since I got stuck at the bamboo forest though sad Oh? How'd you get stuck? I could make a miniguide for you or something if you want.

Pretty much. It aggravates me to see Alice acting like a complete (excuse the pun) lunatic. :'x -Alice fan- I know that when it comes to Marisa she might not be exactly in her right mind, but I'm pretty sure she's not that crazy.
The way Sakuya acted with the mask on was hilarious, though. That and Yuka being Yuka. x3;

I'm not a fan of the pairing, (I'm not really a yuri fan...) but I prefer it over the others, I guess... :'x In all reality, I have to ask... "Why Marisa? What makes her so special?" I mean, they've even got Flan paired up with that witch.
I know where you're coming from, though. I know that a whole lot of Touhou is fan-based, but sometimes it's a bit overbearing and muddles up a character's original personality. :/ ... Like Yukari for example? I don't see where the old joke came from. While playing IN and PCB, I didn't see anything hinting that she's an old hag. owo;

Yukari is older than Gensokyo itself, and if I remember correctly, she was one of the first characters whose approximate age (a very, very vague approximation, however...) was established. And she was implied to be very old. So I guess fans took it from there. There are characters who can be estimated to be older than Yukari, however. To name a few: Tewi, Eirin, Kaguya, Yuyuko.

I haven't played the game, but I watched a full walkthrough of it (courtesy of vgperson) and it is awesome.
I ship Reimu x Ness because of this game whee

Haha, I'm playing this currently when I'm not on PS3 biggrin And man, screw Eientei, WTH is wrong with that place, at least it's done and I'm not going near it ever again.
I laughed so much as Sanae-roid lol I was wondering where was the Earthbound part in the first part, but now I'm just saying this xD Also, I totaly saw that FFX-2 reference when I saw na na nanana nana nanana na, and I was like WTF out of nowhere!
Is there only 4 permanent character in you're party or can you recruit more? (I just got a certain M named character that I don't want to spoil xD) and since she is permanent I think she might be the last T.T
