Aquila floated slowly down the river, relaxing dry on a log while his tailed dangled in the cool water. It was hot out, around midday, when Aquila had decided to climb down a canyon and take a swim down the river that cut through it. The cliffs were high on each side, shading him from the current afternoon sun. He was lying on the log with his eyes closed; passing foxes may have thought he had died. Aquila hadn't seen any others for a while now, though, so he didn't worry about it.
As he floated, he thought. He had been alone for a while now; after his little fling with Skype, he hadn't had much time to think about vixens. He had been raising Marcus and Xavier. They were grown now, though, and travelling on their own. And Aquila alone again. He didn't mind it much, it was the same as before. But occassionally he missed the company.
As he drifted, Aquila slowly began to fall asleep.

Aylin sighed and took another yawn frowning. Number one she had remembered falling asleep in a bushy meadow type area, not the bottom of a canyon. Queue for another frown she realized it was a small stip of sand trying to become a river bank. High cliffs where on both sides and a deep river was in the middle obviously. 'how did I get here' Aylin thought surveying the area. She had eventually changed her sleeping schedule to really late at night and ever since she had taken care of that BCR she had been trying to switch back to being awake most of the day. Considering where she had ended up some how she was under the conclusion it wasnt going as well as she had hoped.
Suddenly a white blob on a log caught her attention and she squinted a bit to look at it. It appeared to be a white modifox passed out on a rock. 'oh I hope its alright' she thought. "hey you mister! You alive there?" she called out in a sort of mean tone and inwardly winced. She always seemed to say something different than she was thinking.

Aquila slowly opened his eyes at the words called to him by a nearby vixen. It was a strange thing to hear, but he supposed he understood. He lifted his head and turned it to the shore, seeing almost immediatly a blue vixen on the near shore. "I am alive and well, Miss," he called back. As he said so, the log he floated on caught on a rock jutting out above the water. He hadn't expected the slight jostle that came from the impact and was thrown into the river.

Aylin watched as the white fox opened his eyes indicating he was just merely sleeping. Well she supposed he could be sick but he finally answered her question saying he was quite well. "ah well thats..." Aylin pondered what to say but it was suddenly taken from her as she trailed off watching the male fox fall off the log and into the water. "and now he is dead" Aylin stated weakly smiled. She wondered if she should go in and save the fox, but decided to see if he needed help before jumping in the river. however she began wading in just in case.

Aquila wasn't new to swimming. He wouldn't have set out on the log had he known there was a chance on drowning. He was able to kick and paddle his way to the surface of the water, though when he emerged he was a few feet downstream from the vixen from before. He kicked and paddled his way more, not against the current, so it wasn't too difficult, but towards the shore.
Finally his front paws could reach the banks of the river and he climbed out. He shook his fur out, thankful for the extremely hot sun. "That was... relaxing..." Aquila muttered as he shook more water off of the fur on his legs. He was aware that the other vixen was still nearby.

Sure enough the male fox didnt seem to need her help and was quickly making his own way over towards the safety of the shore, perfectly fine except for a now dripping wet coat. Aylin didnt worry about such things as catching cold because it was quite warm this time of year and so there was no reason for that concern just quite yet. Besides he was working on shaking that off too. " I would imagine so, although I dont believe that was your original intent." Aylin smiled staying her few feet back as to avoid getting showered with water.

Aquila shook off the last of the water drops, making sure to aim them away from the approaching vixen. He was still damp, but at the moment that was the best he could do. "You're right, that isn't exactly what I had in mind," he replied, turning back to the blue fox. "Although I can't say I regret it too much." He just shrugged, and offered the vixen a smile.

Aylin smiled back a bit and nodded looking up briefly at the sky. "yes it is a bit hot today" she sighed. A bit hot was definitely an understatement. It had after all caused her to become rather lethargic as she was more of a dark cool temperature type of fox.

Aquila nodded in agreement. "I may want to return to the water, though this time I'll be prepared," he replied, glancing from the river to the vixen with a bit of a grin on his face. He realised he had yet to learn her name, and hadn't even introduced himself. To remedy the situation, he said, "I'm Aquila, by the way."

"ah yes I would assume so." Aylin laughed a bit. "Aquila huh, thats an interesting name" she stated although she supposed she didnt have too much room to talk. "I'm Aylin" she replied back being polite after all he had given her his name.

"Aylin is a fairly interesting name as well," Aquila returned with a smile of his own. "What brought you into this canyon on such a hot day, Aylin?" He probably already knew the answer. It was hot, and the canyon provided both shade and water. His reason for being there was the same, after all. "Do you live around here?" Aquila decided to ask. "Or are you merely a wanderer, like myself?"

"um apparently I sleep walked here or something like that" she said with a slight brush. It just made it all the more embarrassing "I'm mostly a wander although I suppose my home is a while away from here on a sort of beach area." Aylin told him.

"Sleep walked?" Aquila repeated, an amused smile on his face. "That must be an interesting story to tell, but probably not as interesting as it is to hear." He let the subject drop, as Aylin seemed embarrassed by admitting it. "A beach area sounds like paradise right now," he said, more thinking aloud than telling anyone. He turned back to her. "You chose the wrong direction to sleep walk in. It's probably much nicer back at this home of yours."

" well half sleep walked, really. Ah if you go into the water, yes I suppose it would be better than here, however there isnt much shade and I am a rather dark color so I overheat a lot. There is water yes, but its salt water" Aylin pouted. "so unless i want to go around smelling weird I cant really go in"

"Well at the very least there should be shade and nice ocean breezes," Aquila said with a shrug. He was staring into the river again, already wishing he was back in. He took a few steps toward it, before stopping and turning back at Aylin. "Well, I'm going in for another dip," he informed her. "Would you care to join me? It's far too hot to stay out here."
