Log: Experiment 1: Test subject shows signs of life. Blending of human and lion DNA appears successful. If the specimen grows, we can start the next hundred experiments.
It started with Experiment 1 and grew to millions of others. The blending of DNA became one of the biggest phenomenons to happen. Hybrids of humans and animals became commonplace in the news. Humans and birds, humans and reptiles. They even began to graft parts of the desired animal onto the human infant. It was the biggest breakthrough since DNA had been discovered.
More and more was done and more and more were made until an unfortunate incident where a bear hybrid escaped from his cell and fought the scientists. The scientists lost and the bear freed all the others. Even more unfortunately for the scientists, they had given all the new hybrids the ability to reproduce with others that had the same species of DNA blended or grafted onto them and they could live incredibly long lives. The war began.
The hybrids overtook cities, toppled states until at last they had conquered the eastern half of the United States, and claimed it as their own. Captured hybrids were taken to the western half and put back in cells. Some new ones were made and taught that the rebel hybrids were enemies and should be fought. Spying, 'rehabilitation' and rebelling seemed like the only options. A quiet life is unknown to the hybrids.
And so, the war continues.

Other: The cities have been toppled and mostly rubble is left on the entire eastern half of what used to be the United States.

Story of my life: Alexei was not born in a cell, but he hated the idea of it. He was ready to begin gathering information for the rebels as soon as he could and has not stopped. He does not like fighting, but it has not stopped him from winning them.
While spying on the human side, he befriended a girl. She found out he was a hybrid and told him she always wanted a kitty. He began to spend all of his time with her and eventually, the girl’s parents found out. They called the military and Alexei was attacked too quickly and could not save her. She got caught in the attack and died. He blames himself for her death.

Story of my life: Being on of the newer Hybrids, Anna was raised up in a cage until she discovered the music, or the light notes of the violin. Her talents with the intrusment allowed her to play to relax the workers and after being force to stay away from the Hybrid side, she plays in bars and cafes on the Human side. Her appearances are only in the night.

Story of my life: One of the few older Hybrids, Fiore escaped after the first attack, using her sly wit and tatics in web weaving to tangle humans into cocoons for her friends, the other spiders. She lives alone, far far from the edges of the human life and far from the other hybrids. She takes care of younger beings, and lets them go before her family of spiders come to feast. Her weakness is her web, which she refuses to leave even if she is burnt to the ground with it.

Story of my life: Catt began her life in a cage and never really left it. She lived in darkness for many years until she was set free by one kind-hearted guard who felt great pity. They ran off together, hiding as best as possible. Many changes of names and many years spent moving around, the guard decided they weren't being chased and settled down in a small, southern town.
He was wrong. Not long after they moved in, the government hunted them down. The guard was killed, shot twice in the head. The second shot was good measure. Catt was taken back into government custody and kept under strict watch for many, many years. Once she provided the necessary evidence that she could be trusted, she was given a job as a photographer for a local newspaper. And she spends most of her time at her desk, only leaving when she has government surveillance following her.

Alexei sat in the limbs of a tree. It used to be a park, but now it lay in splinters and ruins for the most part. There were a few trees left and a pile of wood-chips where a playground used to be. One swing was still standing, but he did not trust it to hold him up. He could not help but compare this to the thriving human side.

Beautiful light music wafts around,
the tunes of each note flutters in the air.
For only one thing is for sure,
the sound of the violin. Light tones of sound wafted into the air as the sliding of a violin bow echo out the music. Anna stood still, expect for her arms which were playing the tune, her wings slightly beating with every eighth beat in the stanza. She was standing on the side for the Hybrids, in a lone ruined park. She wasn't allowed to be in such a place, seeing so she would have to be trapped in a cage for the act. However, the area called for her music, so that is what she shall give to them.

Alexei jumped down from his branch, landing on his feet, as the music of a violin came to his ears. He followed it until he saw a girl with wings playing it. He was crouched behind a bush, hoping not to disturb her. His tail flicked back and forth in time with the tune.

the sound of the violin. Anna finished up her final piece of music, lowering the intrusment down as she looked over the area, checking to make sure no one has seen her. She quickly but silently started to hurry back to the human side, or else she would be in big trouble.
