A calm wind approached the door to Jack's home. Violet rode in on a passing cloud and jumped off, still a bit uneasy about her new master. He seemed nice but was he really? Three times she knocked on the door and waited outside, still wearing her blue pants and bustier, but this time she'd had a blue coat fastened around her torso, to keep from exposing her body too much. She held her small necklace with her right hand as she waited for the door to open.

 Jack was lounging on the sofa with just his underwear on and when the knock on the door came he was surprised. He jumped up and grabbed his shirt, hoping his underwear would look like shorts. Opening the door, he smiled. "Hello, Violet."

Violet blushed slightly seeing Jack had answered the door in his underwear, "H-Hello, master... " She said bowing slightly to her new master, hoping he was not a sex-crazed maniac like some of her previous masters she'd escaped from.

Jack looked taken aback. "Oh, yeah," he muttered. "Naah, just call me Jack." he said, smiling at Violet. "Um, what do ya' wanna do. How about we sit down and talk for a while."

 Violet was a uneasy, but she reluctantly entered Jack's home and walked into the living room. The place looked nice, a bit small though. "Okay..." She said, sitting down on the couch and setting her hands palm down on her legs.

Jack noticed her awkward position. "Are you ok?" He asked. "Would you like me to take your coat?" He tried to make a comforting smile.

Violet shook her head, "I'm okay, but i'd prefer to keep my coat on." She said.

Jack nodded understanding. There was a bit of an awkward silence. He looked at the Violet. Then remembered something. "Oh, Violet, there is only one bed. You might have to share a bed with me at night. Sorry."

Violet nodded. She noticed the couch she was sitting on felt comfortable, but she thought it rude not to accept her masters' invitation, "Thank you." She said smiling.

" Your welcome," Jack smiled. " So, I haven't got much to do. No chores or anything, anything. It is kind of late. So, are you tired?" He stood up, listening for the answer as he looked through a cupboard for something.

Violet smiled again, "No. I'm wide awake." She said with chibi eyes.

Jack seemed not to find anything, while checking under the sofa he spoke to Violet. "Um, anything you want to do?" he asked, on his knees, looking for under the couch. After scrabbling around he pulled out a thin chain, with rings on the end. The chain was silver, a necklace, there were two rings, they had dark marking on them. " I want you to have this," he said handing it to her. " Sorry, I couldn't find it, I had a few little kids around, messing with it. It's said to have dark magic protecting the wearer, I hope you like it."

Violet was a bit warry of taking the necklace, but did so, after all she didn't want to turn down such a nice gift. However when she grabbed it, she encased it in a small bubble of her own angelic magic, holding that in her hand, "It's a lovely gift, thank you. But i'm forbidden to touch dark magic, it can burn through my entire soul and body." She said, a little scared but still happy at the thought her master was implying by the gift. Her cheerful attitude seemed to be returning.

Jack went a bit red, " Oh, sorry," he said. " You could, um, not sure." He stuttered, " Maybe it's not dark magic, I never got the full story." He paused thinking for a moment. " Best not burn you soul out then, do you know how to determine if it's black magic or not?" He asked.
