Malkiira'ala was sitting down in the temple, contemplating quietly. She had been in training earlier in the day and was now trying to rest for a bit. The others were out of the temple, though not off of the grounds. Malkiira tried to clear her mind, relax her muscles, and make her mind wander off a bit.
But as the female drow tried to relax, she couldn't help this feeling. Was it nervousness? Well she had another ritual to try to perform at a later date, but she was pretty sure she was ready for that.
So what was it? Was it built up energy? She still hadn't gotten used to complete silence yet, but still...

Daxkren had found his target a week ago. He took time to figure out her usual habits. Where she liked to go, how she got there, when she left. He knew the priestess would be at the temple and it was there that he would have the best opportunity when she took time to herself after training.
The young assassin grinned to himself. This would work. The temple room where the target relaxed was not completely closed off all the way to ceiling on the back wall. It was a beautiful design that made room for large sculptures. Daxkren lowered himself down silently unto a sculpture ledge, carefully, carefully...
Not carefully enough. He felt his grip slipping.

Malkiira sighed again as she passed around the temple again. She had to find some way to have fun or else she would probably destroy something.
Pausing to think, she was about to start moving again when she heard something slide. A snake perhaps? But those were usually silent, and they weren't allowed inside of the temple because of an earlier incident. Getting in a ready position, she backed herself up against a wall, at least trying to have one side of her protected. She looked around to see what could be the cause of the noise.

Something underneath the ledge creaked and Daxkren could feel the trembling vibration. It made his body tense automatically, his nerves already on edge, and then just a panicked heartbeat later came the second groan of a weak brace below him. He could not see any good options. He could suffer waiting the agonizing time for either someone to find him or for something to break and come toppling down. Or he could let go and jump now. Daxkren let go.
But the ledge did not let go of him. The hapless assassin silently cursed his existence. One of the long belts of fabric hanging from his waist snagged on something and although the object ripped quickly through the fabric, it caught on the loose belt hanging low around his waist. Daxkren craned sideways, looking desperately to reach the damned object behind him.

Okay, she definitely heard something that time and Makiira knew that wasn't natural. She tried to ignore her heart that was pumping, it seemed, as fast as it could. She needed to find out the source.
Looking around she spotted some movement in the darkness. It was just a small bit of movement, but enough to make her move closer to investigate. Moving to the closest pillar, she tried to move her back against the pillar, opposite the side of the movement. Slowly looking around the pillar she tried to make out what it was that had made the noise.
