Mizki is the first of the VY series being developed by Yamaha Corporation themselves. It will be released in deluxe and standard editions on September 1, 2010. It is currently ready for pre-order.

On August 6, 2010, with no advance notice, Yamaha announced the release of the new VOCALOID named VY1"MIZKI" and started to accept orders for it on bplats, inc's online store from August 13, 2010. Also three sample songs,"Polyrhythm", "Stardust Utopia" and "Saihate", have been given out on Youtube. Matsuo-P borrowed the Vocaloids prototype version from Yamaha and made another two demo songs, "Flower and Water" and "684のうた/Song of 684", and uploaded them on Nicovideo. He also used Miku Hatsune(Append), Megpoid(Gumi) and Lily's trial version to compare Mizki with them.

Mizki is intended for professional musicians and according to Yamaha intended to be a high quality voicebank. The concept behind the Vocaloid was that Mizki would be part of a series designed to set the standard by being a voicebank with no set gender, face or voice and would be a vocalist to complete any song.

Deluxe edition comes with a free CD featuring a number of tracks by different producers, along with the configuration they used for the song and their own interpretation of the Vocaloid. This also provides users examples of how the voicebank can be used and offers ideas and suggestions for their own songs. The producers used were already known users gathered from Nico Nico Douga and Youtube to help demostrate the new standard Yamaha hoped to set with Mizki.

Official and everything. Yamaha has a site set up, and I believe this shall be a great Vocaloid. It can be whatever you want it to be, seemingly, so no childish arguments about 'he/she/it looks like *insert image*'

Now. Discuss this beauty. And don't say ''she sounds like *insert Vocaloid here*'. Look for uniqueness, not similarities.

With all due respect, I have one word for you:

I DEFINITELY like the idea of Mizki.
This will allow the fans to practically make it their own, sort of like how they did with Neru orHaku, only this time it will be an actual Vocaloid.
Personally, I'm hoping instead of assigning a character for each gender of just making it an automatic girl or automatic boy, the main fan-based character will be a hermaphrodite.

Anyways, off the design idea.
I like it's voice. Personally, I really do think it's unique. I think every voice released is unique, and yes, that means Miki and Kiyoteru, too.
This one sounds well done and I think a lot of good songs will be made with it.
Very much so looking forward to hearing more from Mizki.

I'm still kinda "meh" about it :I

Eh... I want to hear a male voice sample. If it's in one of those nico links, then I can't listen because I'm too lazy to create an account. XD

Their intention may translates to us making our own Vocaloid. Not a bad idea. Since this is the first of its kind, I won't make much of a judgement on its success/failure.

How'd that URL get into my title?! 8D

Anywho, looking at art for VY1 MIZKI, it seems it's more female, but I bet those songs sung by males will have a male voice.

8D It might be kinda like a Rin/Len package, but just with a male and female voice of the same Vocaloid, like Ruko, the UTAU.
Since all demos sound feminine, I'm guessing a male voice, if there's going to be one, is still in the process of being complete, but boy, MIZKI can hit those high notes without being as ear-splitting as Miku. MIZKI has my love already.

@Purple; Well, it's still kind of in the WiP stages; and there's more after this. I think it's because Crypton has the Rin/Len Appends, Luka Append then the male CV-04; then they are maybe done with making Vocaloids.

@II C r a z y L o o p II
.....If Crypton stops making Vocaloids I will be extremely angry....they make the best and most unique ones D:

As for MIZKI....I'm not likin it......yet.
And i heard someone say that the project was canceled, but I'm not trusting that because....well its the internet and anyone can say anything xD

If I was Crypton, I would stop after the current projects were done.

They currently have;
MEIKO, KAITO, Miku Hatsune/Miku Append, Rin/Len Kagamine, Luka Megurine and CV-4Cβ.

They are working on;
Len/Rin Append, Luka Append (Next Year), Unamed japanese male (CV-04?) and an unamed Japanese female in the "Project if..." series. But it seems a whole NEW group of Vocaloids is coming from them.

In my opinion, I want them to stop and give the other companies a chance to shine. The only good Vocaloids I've seen come from them is MEIKO, KAITO, Luka Megurine and the Rin/Len Kagamine and Append voices for Rin and Len. Not heard Luka Append yet.
