What do you think about BLOOD BENDING?? Personally, i don't think it should be used, unless its a matter of life and death... biggrin

I think it's really interesting, but an unfair advantage. Being able to control someone's body with bending, (just like the imperius curse), is really horrible. Maybe I would use it as a last resort, but other than that, I wouldn't use it.

I just hope its going to be used again on The Legend of Korra. IF so, then Korra can blood bend on her enemies! ^^

I think it says a lot about the water tribe if they can have that ability, yet don't use it against the world. If the Fire Nation has an ability even close to that, they'd use it for all it's worth. The woman who taught it to Katara acted like it was a big secret... But I think any water benders could've figured it out on their own. Anything liquid, they can bend, and blood is liquid. I'm glad it was at least addressed though and the idea wasn't completely ignored. Just like metal bending -- I always wondered why earth benders thought they couldn't bend metal. In theory water benders could do a lot of extremely harmful things, like pulling water or blood OUT of people's bodies, or essentially making them explode from the inside. Not to mention flooding or even freezing entire cities if they're powerful enough. As destructive and threatening as fire benders can be, they're definitely not the most powerful. Both water and earth benders could take over the world if they really wanted to.

Both water and earth benders could take over the world if they really wanted to. That's a really good point. But I don't think water benders can bend any liquid, just things with water in it, as humans are compromised mostly of water. Water benders seem generally gentle and so I don't think they would try to bend the water in people's bodies, or the thought never occured to them. Also, after Katara learned blood bending, I often imagined things like ripping the water out of people like Hama did with the flowers in the episode "The Puppetmaster", leaving a rotten, dehydrated corpse behind. Or freezing the water inside someone's bodies. There's a lot of gruesome things you could do to someone once you learn to blood bend (all of them extremely awesome, but gross) razz

I dont' agree I would use blood bending all the time. I mean it's a form of waterbending that can mean the difference between win and defeat so, wahtever I would use it.
