Sphele stared, awe-struck and amazed. She'd never seen anything like it before! He was so mighty… and… Magnificent! Her tail that had been wagging only minutes before was motionless and her mouth agape. Her dark eyes were locked onto the figure and she could hardly speak… "…Wow."Fleance's ears were pinned back against his head and he shifted uneasily. "Uhm, can I help you with something?" He was knee-deep in a watery pool, where he'd been bathing after he had come upon a small pool, driven to searching for one by his thirst. Mud floated around his feet not only from that which he'd stirred up with his large paws, and that which was crusted on him from his last visit to his mate and children in the swamps. He'd received quite the ill shock with the looks of one of the cubs.
Here he was once more, startled and confused. This wild dog happened upon him from seemingly no where and she wouldn't take her eyes off of him. Sphele shook her head. "Aahhhhh, no. No. Can I help you with anything?! I've never met a god before!" She stepped into the water without blinking which only served to unnerve the god more. She circled him, paddling because for her the water was much higher compared to where it was on Fleance. She loved swimming, though, so it was no water off of her back. "Wooowwww."

Fleance took a step back. "Ah, uhm, I'm not that big of a deal. I've met more interesting gods, you should really save all your praise for the-""No way! Woah! Well, I guess it would make sense that you've met a lot of gods, haha." Sphele stopped near the bank where the water was more shallow and she sat happily, her tail wagging under water and stirring up sand and her tongue lolling out of her mouth happily. "Who's the biggest god you've met?"Fleance shirked back and was concerned that his route to land was now blocked by this dog. "Ah, I'd have to say it'd either be my brother Ezriel- the god of rebellion, or Neltharion, the God of hate. Ah, he's not very nice, I don't suggest looking for him." He nodded and pulled a face, still worried about his last encounter with the divine. It'd been more than unnerving and had left him shaken, even now. "Oh, I'm not worried about meeting any other god, I've just met you!" She barked pleasantly, her head tilting to one side.

Fleance flashed an uneasy grin. Sure she was no threat and he didn't feel that uncomfortable, but he wasn't very good at taking praise from anyone, but it almost looked like he had a new fan. "Uhm, well, I really must be going. I have cubs, you see…"
"OH CUBS?" She stood, ever smiling. "Are they gods too?"
Fleance chuckled a little, "No, they're half-mortals. There's seven of them." (Kauaense didn't count and there were some he didn't know about) "Only one girl, and she thinks she's a goddess because I haven't told her otherwise, and because she's got some cousins that are actually gods and goddesses. I… I need to tell her she's not a goddess soon…" He looked into the water and trailed off into thought about how he would break the news to his little girl. She'd be crushed, there was no doubt about it, but better to tell her now than when she wanted to go off on her own… He wasn't sure he'd ever let his children go off on their own. He felt good about his sons in the swamp lands because they were in a pride setting and with there mother and very safe. Menteith and Sayriel would probably be fine… Maybe if Kimo wanted to go off on her own he could send her there with one of them to protect her.
"Oohhhhhh too cuuuteeee." Sphele cooed.
"Ahh, yeah, haha." Fleance laughed. Hopefully she wouldn't ask to meet them. He'd introduce her to Yoshiteru… Not that his waterbuck would be happy about that. But he'd probably be happier with a Fleance fan than teething tots.
"Can I meet them?"
AAUUUUGGGHHHH. "It's actually their nap time right now, I'm supposed to be getting a snack for them when they wake up. And they're actually really rather far away. I'm able to get to them quickly because I can fly." He stretched his wings as testimony to his story."
"Oh! Then let me hunt for you!" Spehle smiled and hopped out of the water as though it were boiling.
"Oh, you don't have to, that's okay…"

"No no! I insist! I won't take long" She called over her shoulder and smiled, trotting off to a nearby field where she'd seen a hare or two. The area was fed by the water and had some low-lying scrub. She'd seen lots of small pretty animals, and if he had seven cubs… Well maybe she'd have to find something bigger than a hare… Or lots of hares… She furrowed her brows. This would be a harder undertaking than she first committed to. But she'd promised and she'd promised a god! Aah! If she broke her promise maybe he'd curse her! She furrowed her brows and whimpered. He wouldn't do that, right…?He didn't seem that mean… But she'd have to try extra hard.
Her attention shifted from the bushes and small tracks of hares to the incoming herd animals coming to take a drink. She wouldn't go after a mother or child, she was far too tender-hearted to do that… The sick, though, she would put out of their misery…
Speak of the devil! Or perhaps divine intervention, she saw a limping antelope coming her way. It's leg was cut open and useless. It wouldn't be long for this world, but she would make its final moments as painless as possible. She waited for it to pass and sprinted forward, taking it from behind and clamping her jaws on its spine. She didn't have the bite force of the hyena, but with another bite- now to the back of its head, its death was swift.
The wild dog dragged her catch back to the god, wagging her tail all the while and though her muzzle was bloody, her stomach was empty. Though it was her hard work, she'd not dare to take anything from a divine. Fleance's eyes opened wide. "Wooowww. You shouldn't have! But thank you, so much." He bowed his head in thanks to the dog and accepted her offering. Sphele blushed at the god's respect. "Any time, Mister…?""Fleance. God of Ashes."The end. Final word count: 1,117 words
