Due to the ... special needs... of certain students , all students now get their own privatized rooms and no longer need roommates. The rule 'you break it you buy it' does come into application when moving into your room, so be sure to keep it somewhat clean and functional.

Monster Dorms

The outside: A large and ramshackle puzzle of a building, with architecture from many different eras and cultures. It's surrounded by forest, near to the lake, and has a swamp in the back.
The inside: WIDEWIDE hallways for it's larger students. All the furniture is either HUGE AND ROCK SOLID (sometimes literally so) or extremely cheap and easily replaceable. There are several different basements, one of which is refrigerated. The highest floor contains a spacious attic, designed for creatures of the avian persuasion.

The entire dorm is decorated with a "more is MORE!" sensibility, so it's all very lively and colorful, if not exactly tasteful.

Undead Dorms

On the outside, it looks like a throwback from days long past, a Victorian institution. Sturdy yet ornate, with a rather large cemetery behind it, the building stands tall and proud.

Inside, the temperature is kept at a constant -13°C (8.6°F). This is to help slow down decay and reduce the stench. The dorms are divided up so that the many different groups of Undead can rest in peace and not disturb each other. Vampires live on the top floors and have the best view of Halloweentown. Patchworks and Mummies share the ground level (one to the East and the other West). The Zombies are in the dark, windowless basement level where their smell won't offend any stray passer-by. Skeletons are also in the basement as they lack a sense of smell and therefore don't 'mind' Decaying Flesh Eau de Parfum.

The above-ground levels' narrow hallways are decorated with pictures of notable past students. Most are portraits of Vampires but every now and then, Patchworks, Mummies and Skeletons appear. You might even be lucky enough to spot a picture of Chester Grunge (a Zombie with a missing mandible), who was a former Head Boy.

Ghost Dorms

In the corner of a broken-down, crooked little graveyard sits a mausoleum -- ten foot square of once-white marble that has since been faded to grey by the tomb dirt and air. It's unassuming, but inside there are no bodies, no family crests, just a long staircase that winds its way down into the earth.

At the bottom of it, the Ghost dorms aren't the spooky, cavernous, cold setting one would expect. They might be underground, but beyond that they're quite average: brightly lit rooms, hallways decorated with signs and pictures and notices, the walls a pleasant and boring shade of beige, the carpets burgundy and plush. The atmosphere is warmer than elsewhere, perhaps to drive off the deep-set emotions lingering from the ghosts' past lives...

Reaper Dorms
The Outside: A large Stone building sculpted in a Gothic era Fashion, emitting an odd enchanted glow. Like this To the rear of the dormitory is a sizable Garden teeming with a plethora of plants both magical and none. And to the right a small ramshackle smithery.

The Inside: There is no definite separation of the reapers. The hallways are demure and dark in color but brightly lit. Cozy and comfortable there is a common gathering room lit and warmed by a large fireplace, filled with an odd assortment of plush chairs, settees. Aside from the common room the dormitory is all symmetrical, holding a scholarly like air.

Demon Dorms
On the highest elevation lies the demon dorms, a large gate surrounds the property as it to say 'all trespassers, GTFO'. Inside the well-built and furnished manor lay hallways filled with thick velvet carpet and long draping chandeliers. It's rumoured that the common room even has TWO grand pianos, wherever they got the money for that.

SETTING UP YOUR DORM ROOM

Aha! if you are here that means you have already passed and have been approved by the registration office right? In that case feel free to make yourself home. Each dorm has plenty... and we mean plenty of unoccupied rooms, doors, niches, spaces, paintings, wherever or whatever you prefer to reside.

- You are free to decorate your room as you wish. Any sort of flowery banner kind of stuff or whatever gets you going at night... if you know what I mean.
- We recommend some sort of navigational YOU ARE HERE space just so people know where you are.
- There is a telephone for you to hook up to where you can add all the addresses and images or whatever kids do these days with your friends and their rooms.
- It is recommended that your store your minipets in your dorm rooms as well
- Go crazy! If you really want thousands of posters of yourself in your dorm room, noone is stopping you. Apparently it is a common trend to post on the front door now a giant label detailing a student's personality and common interests... and they say Valentines day never happens here.. HA!

LOGGING YOUR RPS AND EVENTS:

All rps should be logged in the journal, in whatever manner you wish, for future reference when doing growths. This goes the same for any 'events' you wish to do such as raising a mini pet for a class, finishing an exam, or uncovering a haiku challenge. Whatever your student participates in that is worth 'growth points' , please post together in an easy to find fashion.

GROWTH POINTS:

After a certain amount of collected growth points, you can submit your student in for advancement to the next year (in theory, though its technically always October...) This gives them access more battle options, some higher level classes, and other special privileges.

The default word requirement is 800. GMs may require either more or less in their classes and events, and may also award growth points differently, so always read the first and last GM posts thoroughly.

1 point can be:

- One piece of fanart drawn by you for anything related to shop (max 5 points this way)
- One complete regular rp
- One full solo rp
- One gm-modded event with point prizes (to be linked), where you included your character
- One complete classroom rp
- One complete homework assignment
- One complete battle, with just rolls
- Five minipets grown to their final stage (1 point per 5, up to 5 points can be earned this way)

2 points:

- One complete 'battle' roleplay with filled out roleplay actions
- Character 'plot assistance' (ie for events)
- Student is awarded a Pumpkin Seed by staff for outstanding work/achievements/something!

GROWTH REQUIREMENTS:

Year 1 to Year 2:

50 points + an exam (pass or fail) = growth towards next stage

Year 2 to Year 3:

50 points + one FINAL EXAM (pass only) AND TEACHER BATTLE (pass or fail)

Year 3 to Alumni:

75 points + one FINAL EXAM (pass only) AND TEACHER BATTLE (pass only)

Alumni have full access to the school. They may choose to continue learning with the teacher in very high, exclusive classes, and spend most of their time outside of school doing other activities. They may also be employed by the school to help in tasks such as T/Aing, library book-keeping, club assistance, event coordination, and the likes.
