Halloween, halloween, where it's always October!

Navigating Halloween:

Ages ago, the resident ghouls and monsters created their tiny and homely abode of Halloween Town. Nowadays, it has expanded, and Halloween Town's tiny overpopulated borders grew and grew, until the whole place was simply Halloween.

Places of common interest:

Amityville High: Where all the ghouls and monsterlings now reside in peace and harmony fear and terror. But don't worry, the teachers keep them at punished... if they are being TOO good.

Campus Dorms: When Halloween citizens reach the youthful and tender age where they think they are independent but don't want to work quite yet, this is where they reside.

The Crypt: A large complex that holds both a museum and a larger library archive detailing all history of Halloween. Said to contain infamous displays and histories from heroes of the town long past. Below the museum lies their spirits, or so it is rumoured... though it is off limits. The main floor common place to go for field trips and research projects.

Moonlight Hall: Ah... young, gruesome fleshy love, they say it never lasts... The place where Jack Skellington was rumoured to have wooed Sally has turned into a romantic place for all couples. The curly, twisted hill seems to be overrun with pumpkins these days though...

Town Hall: Where it all began. The town mayor resides in the hall along with his trusted scientist friend. Together they help plot the best and brilliant ideas for that SPECIAL day of Halloween. Also contains a small chain of stores including Creepy Candies, Shivering Skeletons, and I Scream, to name a few. The fountain in the middle is rather dangerous.. it's said to spew (somewhat) harmless green goo at anyone who dares to get near it. The only store that sells weapons in Halloweentown is currently closed.

Town Heights: The ritzier part of Halloween, with some of the most fearsome, twisted, and nasty buildings there are. Only the well-established denizens can afford to reside here.

Weeping Forest: Said to contain mysterious portals to other realms though anyone who tries to find them just gets ridiculously lost. Thousands of trees and twisting pathways will guarantee any traveller a one way ticket to Nowhere.

Wishing Well: Students often looking to pass an exam might come here... if it helps at all. Recently, it has not been so popular though, ever since the mayor introduced a garden of Man-Eating Plants that now decorate the well.

???? Said to go somewhere else that is forbidden by all residents of Halloween save a select chosen few. They keep the secret of where it goes to. This doorway is sealed.

TIME MOVES DIFFERENTLY IN HALLOWEEN.

-> While it is always in a linear fashion, sometimes when Halloween residents disappear mysterious from Halloween and come back, it could be years later for them and only a few days in Halloween. How could it be!

IN HALLOWEEN IT IS ALWAYS OCTOBER

- this means the weather is always fall
- the days of the week go:
Moonday
Tombday
Webday
Curseday
Frightday
Spiderday
Spookday

HALLOWEEN IS MADE OF FEAR

-> Fear is what makes Halloween tick. It is what makes everyone who lives in Halloween exist. The greater the Fear, the larger Halloween can expand. The more fear a resident exudes, the stronger they are, naturally.

HOW 2 BANK IN HALLOWEEN?

-> Money, or the form of currency is at the moment called 'Pumpkin Seeds'. You can earn Pumpkin Seeds, you can purchase stuff with them you can sell stuff with them (all in-game ICly). OOCLY you will be granted Pumpkin Seed merits to purchase stuff in game, such as exclusive minipets.

Currently the bank sits next to the large Town Hall science laboratory, run by gnomes and goblins. We're not too sure why...

OMG U SMASHED MY PUMPKIN

While Halloweentown is made up of FEAR, it isn't the same sort of FEAR found in the human horror genre or in any hack-n-slash films. Rarely do the citizens of Halloween lose control of themselves or their powers, and if they did the local police force known as the Bogeymen would be quick to deal with them.

The Bogeymen are watching you. They are the peacekeepers, and control over FEAR and anger is taught early. This isn't to stay that there aren't any disputes -- there are, and those are often settled with a quick battle. Winner is right, loser needs to go lick their wounds and admit they're a big stinky loser.

WE FIGHT... LIKE MEN!

Disputes in Halloweentown are settled with battles. In order to battle, you need to have a Battle Pass. Amityville Academy offers Battle Passes for those interested in acquiring one. Those without Battle Passes usually settle their disputes with words or with the court of law -- or they hire someone who can battle to "champion" them.

REST IN PEACE BUT NOT FOR LONG

Lost badly in a battle to the point where you can get up and walk? Don't worry! Amityville Academy has the best of the best Undead Scientists in Halloweentown who can restore you to (near) perfect shape! There is no such thing as "death" in Halloweentown -- not on campus, at least. Besides, even if there's one little piece of you, Amityville Academy's Nurse can work her FEAR and bring you back! More or less, no money back guarantee.

In the case of a character being eaten: the sheer amount of FEAR that every citizen contains is too much to digest literally. In the past, those who have eaten other citizens have been known to explode in a great big FEAR mess that took FEAR-scientists months to clean up. If attempted today, social taboos would usually prevent such an action from ever occurring.

If it does happen, however, the person who is eaten is usually "respawned" by FEAR back in their own living quarters in sore need of a shower.

The creation of Halloween:

Thousands of millenia ago in human world standards, fantastical horrific creatures used to live alongside humans. They ruled kingdoms, governed lives, and lived as gods, feasting on the fear their very presence and names instilled in humans. They were life; they were death. To them, humans were mere playthings. If one broke, there was always another. Some creatures enjoyed ruling them, often arranging a "war" with another creature to see whose army and nation was better. Still others preferred to hoard these weak pathetic things, treating them nothing more like pets or interesting things to collect.

All was well until the day the humans rebelled.

It is unknown what had started it, or who was the first human to discover that the demigods were mortal. This discovery sparked a wildfire that grew out of control: humans were rising up and fighting back, using their strength in numbers to overwhelm the creatures in retribution. The humans discovered how to control the "lesser" creatures that posed no threat to them, toppling the gods.

The once-fantastic and immortal creatures realized swiftly that they were outnumbered. They were too used to living soft lives, to have the humans obey them. Their numbers were diminishing -- some of them were already entirely wiped out. The remaining few fled their former pets, a fear of their own growing inside them; they had lost their ability to scare, forever stripped of their Fear.

The few dying that remained huddled into their own existence, and as they too began to fade, they wished, with all their little dark hearts that there would be some place left for them.

That wish came true.

Thus began what was originally called Halloween Town. It is said Halloween Town was created out of the last dying essence of Fear, and at first it was tiny, just a small concept, a passing thought. Slowly, however, it began to thrive, given a heartbeat, spawning creatures from nightmares once again. Skeletons, ghosts, and witches, all born from this world, created by their ancestor's Fear, all sprang to life, creating the town, giving it more unlife. They grew and were joined by many, some strange cousins and refugees that managed to flee the human world and at last come here.

Most denizens of Halloween Town were actually created from pure Fear, ironically spawned from nightmares and horrors and things of imagination from creatures that many years ago would laugh at the very thought. Once every year, the strongest denizens of Halloween Town would go to the human world, using their Fear to spread horror and pandemonium to make sure their world would always remain. After all, why bother with a world that can so easily, so quickly turn on you when you have a place of your own here?

Eventually Halloween Town became so large, so populated, it branched out from just being labeled a town to its true title, as an actual world. And thus Halloween was born.

The lives of citizens:

Any rare, straggling creature that still remained somehow in the human world before coming to Halloween are considered Refugees. They are given a special pass.

90% of current Halloween denizens are created in Halloween Town either from imagination or Fear. Think of Halloween as a parallel world to the human one: humans think of a horrifying thought, such as a bog monster with ten tentacles, they spend nights dreaming about this. Their sheer belief in this gives it life in Halloween. How strange!

The more.. human-esque and "natural" convention of birth also occurs in Halloween Town, but at the same time it doesn't. You see, when a couple loves each other very much, it is said that they can find a child of their very own in a particular Pumpkin Patch...

In addition, humans who pass away or are revived from the dead come to the world of Halloween. There is nothing in the human world that usually keeps them there: Halloween IS their afterlife. Sometimes they just show up; othertimes a citizen of Halloween Town finds them and brings them back, however the journey TO Halloween Town is near impossible to remember.

Demons have always thought themselves to be the natural leaders of 'Halloween', Reapers claimed to be the source of the magicks there, and Monsters... well..there are ALWAYS monsters.

Naturally occuring creatures:

That is not to say that the human world does not have strange naturally occurring creatures! These days they are few and far between, and usually they are hunted on sight by humans. A creature in the human world that cannot strike fear and panic is a creature with no power. They usually all end up coming to Halloween because of the abundant Fear that is there. There is enough Fear large enough to fuel every single Refugee!

Humans in Halloween:

It is simply put, impossible. It is like trying to reach the lost city of Atlantis, or to go east of the sun and west of the moon. You cannot enter a world where you simply would not be able to exist! The closest any human has gotten is towards one of the naturally occurring portals to Halloween it the Bermuda Triangle (but most people die miserably there anyway, as many monsters like to lurk around, where they can grab human prey and still stay close enough to the soothing aura of Halloween). Another such portal is the Arctic Circle, though it is said to lead somewhere other than Halloween....

Creatures and their prey:

Whomever told you that monsters and creatures still need to feed on human prey has been outdated for centuries! All Halloween denizens live off the Fear that fuels the world. It manifests within them, letting them emit their own unique Fear abilities, and in return, the denizens travel to the human world once every year as tradition, to make sure the world gets the imagination it needs to run.

The era of feeding on humans is long over. While certain denizens won't say no to a good scare, or a rather frightful surprise, the only reward they get off such an action as terrifying or even maiming humans is entertainment.

This isn't to say that Halloween Town doesn't have its own brand of delicacies: Gooll-o, Barbecued Bat Wings, Cheesy Goblin Head, Corpseloaf, and Haunted Herring are dishes that the more voracious citizens of Halloween Town enjoy eating.

When it comes to eating humans, however, recently Halloween Town has created a law in which only citizens with a Passport, Battling Pass, and Hunter's License may go out and hunt human. Citizens are warned that by eating non-certified human flesh leaves you at risk for Kooties, the Holly Jollies, and the Angry Green Short Punch. Please dine with care, should you choose to be hungry. Eat a Fear sandwhich instead!*
