A fellow co-worker was late for a little get together with her friends again.
“Mae's gonna kill me for sure this time! Please let them still be there. Please still be there. Why did Jess have to had jammed the printer today of all days?” Ellen complained loudly, of course she forgot that tonight was when she was supposed to be out with her friends instead of working until ten. To hear that they were waiting for her to show up again, was beginning to become extremely annoying considering the fact that this was happening more often. Now all she could think about was how she was going to explain this as the young woman just ran out of the office building that she worked at to the café they agreed to meet at.
It wasn't surprising that when she arrived that nobody was there waiting for her. They had been waiting for a long time when they called and it took her about thirty minutes just to get here. Seeing that there was no reason for her to stay, or go in for that matter, Ellen turned around and began to walk to her apartment. A few minutes later, it started to rain to the young woman’s dismay.
“Good thing I brought my…”
She trailed off, suddenly remembering that she left her umbrella in her apartment in her rush to get to work on time and under the assumption that is wasn't going to rain for another two days. Wanting the day to be over with she pulled her coat’s collar closer to her neck and picked up her pace, unaware of the young woman that had darted into the alley behind her, closely followed by a group of four desperately trying to catch her.

"This is the last time we're EVER going to bring Alice here just because Nate asked us to! I don't care if he's the king!"
Heather glared at the fleeing queen's back, because of her they had to run around in the rain just to make sure she's safe. The other's too shared her sentiments of the queen right now.
Will grumbled, his usual grin was replaced with a frown. "Alice can we please stop and rest? It's raining, and you know that the conspirators could be anywhere!"
The queen flashed a quick smile at the boy and managed to take a few more steps until Heather knocked her to to ground. Alice stuggled for a moment then sagged, it was about time they went inside to dry off.
"Is the house ready for us Dante? Because I think we all can agree that a nice bed would be great right now."
He nodded and after pulling both girls to their feet the group slowly made their way to the house.
