~Lotus Flower~
~Plant Information~
Known as Nelumbo nucifera in the scientific community, it is one of the most accident flowers studied by man. Grown in shallow waters where its roots are able to sink deep into the mud, it has the special trait that allows it to bloom only during the day. At night, the blossom closes and sneaks beneath the darkness until another sunrise. Cold is the small flower’s biggest enemy, killing the plant as quickly as the frost arrives.
The lotus is unlike many other plants as the seeds are shed at the same time the flower blooms.
It should also be noted that while it is a in the same family as the water lily, the lotus is not considered a lily.
~Symbolism~
As one of the oldest scared symbols on this planet, the Lotus holds a place in almost every religion. Overall, the Lotus is known to symbolize purity, long life, health, wealth, fertility, and many other aspects.
In Hinduism and Buddhism, the flower represents awakening to ones spiritual consciousness.
In the Egyptian mythology the flower takes on the symbol of the sun, creation and rebirth.
The Indian Lotus flower symbolizes divinity, fertility, wealth, knowledge and enlightenment. Associated with the goddess of wealth, Maha Lakshmi, who brings prosperity, purity and generosity, she is seen sitting on a fully blossomed lotus flower, symbolizing purity, beauty and everything that is good.
In Christianity, the Lotus is replaced by the Lily to symbolize piousness and fertility as well as being the sign for the Blessed Mary.

What Does a Lotus act Like?
Personality: Polite, slightly naive, and rather forgetful. These are the words that sum up Sadira in a short form. However, there is more to her than meets the eye.
A wide eyed smile disguises the face of a very sweet little girl. Sadira has a deep passion for making people happy. Those who look into her eyes and see the pure innocence can only question what life this being has lived to be as pure of heart as she appears. Unable to truly hate anyone, lacking the ability do push someone away no matter how much it might hurt her, Sadira's only wish is to put other's joy above her own. Many times, this leaves her vulnerable and, if not for her guardian, open for attack.
Besides being full of love and passion, Sadira is a peace maker. She hates fighting of any kinds. The worst is verbal. To knowingly use words to inflict pain gives a wound that might never heal. Sadira despises it when people go out of their way to name call, insult, or even mock. The voice is a gift and those who use it negatively do not deserve it.

Personality: Sera is what one could call a jagged edged sword. Thought lovely to look at and admire, she is not an easy woman to get along with. Stubborn to a fault, a deep perfectionist, and not to mention just a tad bossy, she is not the type of woman people enjoy working for. However, her employers love her does because they know that she won’t short change.
Don’t be mistaken though for even if a stone glare can cause a grown man to shut his mouth, Sera does have soft spots. The biggest one would be her love of animals. She will fight anyone who wishes to destroy a home of another living creature (other than people since that’s just good business).
It should also be mentioned that Sera has a bit of a short fuse. Being a perfectionist making that fuse even shorter when it comes to work. Add being slightly vain to her list and it becomes amazing that this woman even has time for a life.
Yet deep within her, the woman does have a pure dream, a dream she hopes to see with her own eyes. What is that dream? Only one other person knows and he will never tell.

Dislikes: Traditionalist, Poor Planners, Closed Minded People
History: Being the youngest of a very old fashion family never sat well with Sera’s developing nature. Being from parents who believed in the old saying ‘a woman is to be seen, not heard' was only added to by having three older brothers whom were forced to act the same way. Mix in a workacholic carpenter father and a mother whose only wish was for her daughter to marry rich and you have the perfect recipe for a break down. Thirteen was the magic number.
It was on a rainy afternoon that Sera felt the last her last thread of patience snap . She was tired of being bruised for things she could not do even had she been older. Not once had her parents praised her for how clean she kept her siblings rooms. One could count on their left hand how man times she had been told she was loved under this roof. So with a bleeding left arm from where her mother’s sewing needles had stuck, Sera threw down the shirt she had been forced to mend and ran from the house.
She would never speak about what happened to her from the time she was thirteen until eighteen but most thought she was dead. Only one person knows what contention she lived in and that was her later master and teacher. Yet, he learned not to mess with such a passionate young woman after she sabotaged one of his works to get even.
However, against all odds, she had found herself as his prized student. Top in her class and working small projects here and there, the young woman had moved herself away from her family home and as far away from anyone who had ever laid eyes on her. Since then, she has changed her name in hopes of no one ever making a connection.
Now she lives in hopes of proving that a woman is not just a porcelain doll.
